I have two tamron external zoom lenses, which for me are big investments. They are the first nice lenses I've ever had, so I don't want to be careless with them.
Is there such a thing as a lens sleeve that can stay on all the time and protects the lens from dust and moisture? Or is that overkill? Any other advice for keeping them in good shape?
Edit: They aren't weather sealed.
Québec City local here.
The Montreal and Québec City routes were announced yesterday.
In Québec City, they shortened the lap by around 2km, basically cutting out the whole old town circuit. Tram work is underway here which I assume has something to do with it, but they pretty much eliminated so much of what makes this race as charming as it is. I wondered why they hadn't started fixing the usual route roads yet, and I guess this is why ☹️
This year, they will be leaving the river, heading up côte de la Montagne, and then going straight back into the plains (the large park) and back down to the river.
Kinda bummed. The route in 2024 was fantastic and I hoped they might go more towards a course like that again, but it got worse.
I purchased this beautiful BVLA Kolo seam ring used. I paid roughly around gold value, so I won't be at a loss either way, but I would REALLY prefer to wear it.
Clearly the previous owner pulled it apart rather than twisting. Has anyone had luck saving a piece that has endured such abuse? I'm ok with it never being fully round again, but I would like to at least get the ends to meet. I thought I would ask if there is a trick before I try to brute force it and possibly damage it more.
I just missed a phone call from someone in my local NDP. They said they were giving all new members a call. Left a 5+ minute voicemail telling me all about local events, who I can get in touch with if I have questions, and was SO friendly. Just...so human and sounded genuinely happy to be leaving a voicemail 😂 No script, just a normal cheerful person chatting away.
I realized that was the first interaction (well, message) I have EVER had with a political party that felt normal and not "we put thousands of dollars into researching the precise wording of this manipulation tactic"
I guess someone from a political party recognizing me as a human instead of a number was concerningly unexpected.

Since the update, I can no longer watch SBS with a VPN (don't judge me) because it says "Video playback error. If you have an adblocker turned on, try turning it off". It's not my VPN or Avast. It's not the browser (I tried 3 different browsers). I don't have a browser adblocker. It is 100% the windows update.
I uninstalled the updates. I paused updates for a month, I turned off "get latest updates". And yet, after restarting, there the updates are again 😭
How do I get rid of them?

My windows 11 updated yesterday. Since then, websites think I am using an adblocker and block my access to streaming. This is NOT a browser issue; it is the same in 3 different browsers. It is not related to Avast. It is 100% related to the windows update (which it will not allow me to properly uninstall).
I have been trying to fix this all day and am getting nowhere.
