WiFi went down at exactly 1 AM (1:38 AM as I type). All green lights on router, no issues at all before this. In fact, I just had a tech here exactly one week ago, and they ran new cables because mine were damaged in one spot, and it worked flawlessly until tonight. Every light is still green on the router right now as I look at it, but literally every device in my house is showing a network error. And I have tried resetting everything. I’m starting to get real tired of having to rely on my phone’s spotty mobile hotspot, and working from home doesn’t make it any easier.

I can’t be the only one. I missed it last year too with every location closing before March, but it’s really sinking in this year. Home Depot and Lowe’s are underwhelming this year, Spirit is the most overpriced it’s ever been IMO, Michael’s is pushing out AI slop decor, and Walmart is late and underwhelming it seems. Five Below kinda impressed me this year with $40 life size animatronics. Love a lot of the things at At Home this year too, but I can’t afford any of it almost. Party City was the last place to still have that nostalgic Halloween feel every year. Seeing the costume wall, waiting in line to ask for the costume you chose, tons of budget decor things….and now it’s gone, ugh.

I tried searching for it on YouTube to add to my Halloween playlist earlier and couldn’t find it, only 30 second and one minute long clips that were uploaded by other channels 3 years ago. It’s not in any of the playlists on their channels either anymore. I’m also not a regular viewer so it’s possible I’m out of the loop and something happened that warranted it being removed.

I’m house sitting for my grandparents and I’m making some cupcakes for them when they get home Saturday. I got just the classic Betty Crocker yellow cake mix and chocolate buttercream frosting. Today is the only day I have time to bake them but I also want them to look presentable in this fancy family heirloom cake stand when they get home. It does have a cover.

Should I refrigerate them until Saturday or would they be fine to remain at room temperature tomorrow and tomorrow night?

This is so dumb of a question but I can’t find a good, real answer anywhere. I edit on a MacBook Pro, if that matters.

No matter what I set my brightness to, my photos look dark online and on other devices even though they looked fine in Lightroom and Photoshop. I’ve tried 100%, I’ve tried 50%, and I’ve even matched the brightness with my phone (phone brightness at about 50-55%), and they STILL look dark on other devices and social media. The colors also stay consistent across devices, so I’m at a loss.

This is a bit of a rant more than anything. I need to just get it off my chest.

So a few days ago I had to do some shopping that couldn’t be avoided. I didn’t really mind because I was going alone and I do 1000 times better in public when I’m alone. As I was in line waiting to check out, I noticed that the cashier was upbeat and talkative with each customer no matter how happy or reserved they were. But when it was my turn, his attitude kinda dropped and he was quiet the entire time even though I was smiling and making small comments here and there. I’m not blaming him at all, but it was pretty awkward and put me on edge because I kinda felt like I did or said something wrong even though we only interacted for about a minute or two. This has also happened a few other times, all recent. There have also been times where I’ve tried making small talk with strangers and they just smiled politely and walked away. I don’t know, it’s just weighing on me pretty heavily. I’m doing everything I’ve been instructed to do like leaving the house on my free days, complimenting strangers, reaching out to people to reconnect, etc, but it feels like it’s working in the opposite way.

Last month an online retailer I ordered from a few years ago had a massive breach that leaked millions of their customers’ (no joke) info. I received an email about it and confirmed it with have I been pwned. Leaked info included phone numbers, emails, purchase history, and mailing addresses.

I haven’t ordered anything from this company in years and forgot about it completely, and this was also before I created burner emails for shopping accounts. Now my iCloud email is being flooded with phishing emails, and I’ve started getting spam calls daily (I had it under control for a long time and would maybe get one spam call every couple months). I have unknown number calls silenced, unknown number texts filtered out, and the phishing emails are all going straight to junk, but this is extremely frustrating for a paranoid person with OCD like me. Is there anything I can do to at least slow it down?

Hi everyone! My car is in need of a good inside and outside detailing. I’m looking for someone local who can mainly clean and condition leather seats (I tried it myself and there’s shiny splotches in certain areas now), clean mixed materials in the interior, and hardcore clean the exterior. Wax too. There are some hard stains that are impossible to get off without risking the topcoat, and I’m not comfortable attempting it myself. There are some scuffs I’d like to have buffed out as well, but it’s no big deal if they can’t be.

Any recs? I can go to them or they can come to me. Thanks!

This is going to be long and probably messy, but I’m gonna do my best. So a few days ago I got a new like on hinge. I was hesitant to accept it because he’s 36 and I just turned 25 last week, but I gave it a chance because he’s cute and his bio intrigued me. I don’t usually go that old.

We exchanged numbers a couple nights ago and started texting and planning a date because it was going well, no red flags yet. We planned sometime next week since I wasn’t feeling good for a few days and needed some rest. Well then he started becoming obsessed with me. He’s now begging me to send him voice notes, he’s begging me to come over to his place for a movie, he even tried everything to convince me to go over to his apartment last night at 2 AM. I said no of course, but then he got upset, which made him even more insistent. Then he randomly called me at 4 AM after I had already told him I was going to sleep. I’m now being as low effort with my replies as possible because I’m feeling extremely nervous about him and I want him to take the hint. We did exchange pics in a moment of weakness the night we started texting (yeah, those pics), so now I feel like I’m too far in to just block him. I’m a younger gay man, I have to protect myself in these cases, but I don’t know how to in this situation.

I was driving home on a two lane freeway yesterday (two lanes on each side), traffic was heavy and there was a semi ahead of me blocking most of the view ahead. There were two cars between the semi and I. Suddenly everybody slammed brakes and jumped over into the left lane because there was a cop pulled over with his lights on. But by the time it was time for me to get over, traffic was already speeding by me on the left so I couldn’t get over without causing an accident unless I stopped and waited for a gap. So instead, I slowed down to about 20 mph and went past. But now I feel like that was the wrong thing to do, because I’ve heard stories of people being ticketed for that.

Also, to clarify a couple things, the posted speed limit along that stretch is 55. It was late afternoon rush hour so my lane was cruising at about 50 because of said semi, and we all went from that down to the 20-30mph range once everyone hit the brakes. The left lane also slowed down quite a bit once everyone in my lane turned on their turn signals and started inching over, it’s just I already had several cars coming up on my blind spot when I tried to get over. I was not tailgating either, I was simply keeping with the flow of traffic. I drive a lower car and there were two SUVs and a semi in front of me, so that’s why I couldn’t see everything immediately.

So I’ve been talking to a new guy for a few days now. Not exactly “new” since we knew each other already, but he’s new to me in the dating world. We’re (or were) planning on going out on a date next week. We’ve been chatting on and off since we matched on an app a few days ago, and it’s been going alright. I’m not getting my hopes up yet because we haven’t met, but he’s literally my exact type and we have everything in common. And I do mean literally everything.

So earlier today he mentioned he’d FaceTime me tonight once he got off work. The thing about me is I don’t really do phone calls or video calls unless I know the person or like them a lot. I have horrible phone anxiety to the point that I let all calls go to voicemail so I can see if it’s important without having to pick up. So I had to get up the courage and I had to make myself look presentable because I don’t want to be in my weekend leisure state on this FaceTime call. I straightened my clothes, freshened up, did my hair extra nice, and I even arranged a quiet hour for the call with no distractions on my end. …Well it’s now 11 PM and I haven’t heard anything. I understand being so busy and tired that you have to call things off, but I literally went through a lot of trouble to look good for him and I’m not even feeling well today. Like, at least give me a heads up. It kinda feels like being stood up (I know it’s not the same thing, but kinda feels like it). I should also mention that I woke up this morning to my message being left on opened for 6 hours and he didn’t have a single positive response unless I was flirting with him once I sent him a text.

So, should I feel upset or am I overreacting? (25M and 24M)

On one profile I can see the messaging icon on other profiles, but on my other profile I can’t. I have my main profile (this one) for general posts and my second one for questions and making connections. It’s the second one that I can’t see it on, instead I have to tap the three dots on their profile and hit “send message.”

My other issue is I have message requests according to the notification page, except when I go to open them, there’s nothing there. My hidden requests are empty too. It keeps saying I have 11 requests, then it’ll say 5, then it’ll go back to 0.

My app is up to date, I’m not logged in on any other devices. Any ideas?
