Robyn Hitchcock Pens A Second Memoir of the '70s
For me, Robyn Hitchcock is so important in the development of auto rock in the 1980s. Particularly his influence on REM and the replacements et cetera. The second volume of this memoir comes out at the end of July, I think. The first one which sent us around the year 1967 was just brilliant! This Review suggests the second instalment is just as good. Cannot wait!

Neil Young’s best albums, ranked and reviewed! 1968-1975 | Part 1 — State of Sound | The Independent Voice of Music
I really enjoyed this ranking. It takes 1968 until 1975 as a period. I like the way Neil Young life is woven into The writing. Anyway, I don’t agree entirely with the order, but as we all know these things are subjective.

Where Should Billy Joel Sit at the Pop Rock Table?
He should be at the top table of rock. That’s the answer! I really don’t know why he isn’t put in the same category as Neil Young, Bob Dylan and the rest.
Gen X Suffers Mainstream Culture Constipation
I really enjoyed this. And a lot of it rang through. I really try not to go down the whole ‘my generation was better than it is now’, but I think that this makes some really good points.
