Might be a little broad, but I'd like to get immersed in any kind of eerie, mystery content. Preferably a documentary channel if it's on YouTube, but I'm open to more digestible videos, as well as a proper TV show from the last 5 to 7 years if there's any good ones. They can be anything from a probable hoax to something clear as day, the main thing I want is to go down a rabbit hole with either a satisfying answer or a thought provoking lack of one. These are some of the channels I've already been following, to give you an idea.

Looking for things that wouldn't be immediately obvious. A lot of writers tend to rely on slang or Freudian slips, I'm not doing that. I want something subtle or unconscious, like body language, or the way they tuck in their shirt.

Edit: Since some people wanted some context, the characters I'm writing are meant to be twelve years old. The protagonist is a boy from the 1930s, the time traveler is undercover as the new girl in his class.

I know it must be hard for him to perform any cognitive functions after he popped like a balloon, but hey if they can turn gold into piss anything's possible.

I'm looking for novels that can scratch a similar itch to Stranger Things. Not necessarily a horror or sci-fi story, but a period piece that embraces the setting with open arms. Something that really gets you immersed in the history the characters are living through. I'm open to any time period, but my preference is the 1980s, 2000s, or 1920s.
