I think i might own a lost media bomb XD
I feel a little silly being here. I won't state my age but this computer is significantly older then me, A few years ago I wanted to make this film project, And needed an older computer for authenticity,
I never finished or will finish this project, Since I realized I like animation and drawing a lot more.
Anyway, This computer made me fall in love with collecting stuff like this, I don't know the exact model but it's definitely pre-2000s.
I always thought it was strange that a huge portion of the disk space was already occupied, while there were barely any programs on it.
Apparently, The previous owner of this computer did in fact not delete any of their j-pegs or gifs...
there are over ten THOUSAND unorganized images on this machine, all mostly entirely different. All pictures they probably got online from websites that are most likely completely gone. I haven't even seen a percent of what is on this and I feel a little overwhelmed.
I'm not sure how much these images even matter, And I know for sure there are people on this subreddit who also have stuff like this? because usually when buying an older PC, i expect the disk to be completely wiped, But this owner didn't.
Looking at the dates, the first images were from 1998, And the newest 2005.
I am not really asking anything, just wanted to share. been thinking of using ethernet to send all the images to my modern PC, but even then i wouldn't know what to do with them.
thanks for reading!!!
Edit: i forgot to say what kind of pictures i have seen so far: mostly real life stuff, like stadiums, hotels and schools. There were a whole bunch of foto's of what to me looks like houseparties, If i ever share this images i won't share those because they contain real people of course. Also lot's of web icons and animated early3D/pre-render stuff, I should have shared some but i forgot, sorry.
edit 2:
I physically interacted with the person who sold me the PC, I was at their house, when i brought the machine back in the car, We didn't chat, the interaction lasted around 10 minutes, and he also deleted their profile after i arrived home, And i don't think i can even reach them anymore.
I regret posting this, Thought i just wanted to share something cool, but now everyone is saying what I should do with these images. This is still a computer I bought and i just need a moment to digest this, And seeing all these comments is very overwhelming and making me very anxious, and which i could just turn them off, which i will prob do after this edit is done, sorry, genuinely.
