how can i track my protein without tracking calories?

as stated in the title, i want to be able to know how much protein i’m getting in a day without tracking my calories. for the past year or so, i’ve been tracking and have come to realise that i do not want to do that for the rest of my life. however, i still have a protein goal to hit, therefore requiring me to track. should i just track my main source of protein throughout the day and ignore the other components of my meals or should i just mentally eyeball now as i have been tracking long enough to get a good glimpse of the portions? i’m scared that if i stop i won’t be able to control my intake. any advice is appreciated!

how do i hit my protein goal while on a deficit?

as mentioned in the title, i find it a bit difficult to hit my protein goal while watching my calories. i usually get at least 100g a day, but by night, i usually end up eating an egg or two to finish my goal. on some days i drink a protein milk smooth drink, but i want to cut back on that as it is quite heavily loaded with sugar. is there any advice on getting more protein in??

how do i, 17f high school student, find my passion?

as suggested by the title, i can't seem to find a career path i have a passion for. i'm fine with studying anything really as long as i can be financially independent. i'm currently a high school student in australia, studying year 11. in about less than a year's time, i can apply for a university early entry into a course i want to study. but the problem is, i don't know what i want to study. i know that i want to do some sort of double degree, with one of them being in the business/accounting field. the other (my main one), i have yet to find. pretty much all my life, i had my heart set on something in the medical field. i know that i don't want to be a doctor since the hours are not for me, but i also don't have interest in any other field, so i have narrowed my options down to working with the human body and their functions. i also had psychology in mind but i have read other posts about how it is a useless degree that isn't very employable. i do enjoy psychology very much and find it quite interesting, but after reading the posts, i'm not so sure now. i also have been looking at optometry, but i can't fathom the high entry mark i'll need to get into the course. for early entry, they do scale down the point requirements, so i think it will shave off a few extra points which will be useful in my case. but of course, i had to go research and apparently the market is very saturated and jobs from the optometry degree don't get paid very well. money isn't the biggest issue for me, i want my studies to be worth the job i get. still, i just feel like i have no passion for anything and the time to choose my future career is narrowing down. is anyone else going through this? or perhaps you have already and might have some advice on what to do?

Bachelor of Medical Science -> Doctor of Medicine

Hey all, I’m planning to study Medicine at UNSW if my ATAR allows it after I sit my HSC, but even so I’m not too sure if I’m 100% dedicated to Medicine. I want to start with a degree involving some sort of science, and since I‘m thinking of doing Medicine, why not study Medical Scienc. Has anyone completed this degree or any other science related one and then went on to study a postgraduate Doctor of Medicine? If so, what is the process like and is it worth it? I’m trying to keep my options open in case I decide that another path is better suited for me, but I’m really interested in Medicine at the moment. Any advice would be helpful, thanks!

how do i get rid of food noise?

as suggested by the title, i have really bad food noise. i used to not struggle with this and my body image, but about 1.5 years is when it started happenin. at first, i wasn’t constantly getting the urge to eat, instead i would eat less and basically survived on rice cakes. this worked in helping me “lose weight“ but i didn’t realise that it was an unhealthy way to. then the food noise started up roughly at the end of 2025. it got really bad after i came back from vacation where i was basically eating whatever and whenever. from then on i have struggled with my weight and always losing and gaining the same weight. i can never successfully resist my cravings and find that i end up eating a whole bag of chips at midnight, despite doing so well at the start of the day. i tend to immediately forget about trying to stay on track with my diet once i eat something that is unhealthy. sorry for the blabbering but i’m just frustrated that i can‘t get rid of this urge to always eat. does anyone struggle with the same thing as i do and if you have found a way to prevent it, please share!!!

Right eye gets blurry by the time night hits

I've been wearing Ortho K for about 3 years now and only recently has my right eye not been fully corrected. I find that by the time night hits, my right eye is quite blurry which is annoying as my left eye still has perfect vision. This has only just started happening and I have no clue what the cause of it is. I have been sleeping a bit less (around 7 ish hours a night), but usually I find the even when I sleep 6 hours, it is not an issue. Does anyone know what is happening an how to fix it?

How do you get gymnasts to follow instructions?

I'm a current gymnastics coach coaching kids between the age of 6-12. I'm finding it quite difficult to manage behaviour with younger kids as they just want to run around and do whatever they want. Has anyone experienced this and if so, how did you manage it? I can get them settled for a few minutes but then they start up again and don't listen. When I mean they, I mean a minority of my group. It is only a few gymnasts that don't listen to instructions and thinks they can do whatever whenever. Any advice would be useful!!

how do i stop food addiction?

i’ve been struggling with food for the past year and a half. i’m constantly switching between not eating to eating everything in sight and currently i am in my binging phase. i tell myself i will not eat a lot and i do try to eat proper meals. but no matter what, food is ALWAYS on my mind, even when i am full. i have found that not having snacks around the house helps but my mum does the grocery shopping so i don’t really control what is in our pantry. i hate that i can’t stop eating and that this is a never ending cycle. if anyone can relate or has overcome this, please share what worked for you. thank you!!

how do i fix bad quality image when posting?

i use a digicam for all my posts and the photos itself turns out great in my library, but when i go to post it on insta, it either:

  1. goes pixelated immediately

  2. goes pixelated a few weeks later

are there any ways to fix this?? because the quality is great when it is in my phone’s photo library, but the second i post it on insta, it goes pixelated and not as good of a quality. i’m not sure if it is because of my camera or because of insta, but i just want my posts to turn out great…

how do i stop my calorie obsession??

i’ve been tracking my calories every day for the past few years now. it has gotten to the point where i’m basically starving myself the whole day just to “binge” it all back at night. my relationship with food has become so bad that i’m barely eating enough and getting so nauseous. in my head, i need to reserve all the calories for dinner, but in doing so, i just get hungry and can’t stop eating once i start. it is a constant cycle. i want to change for good and stop counting but i know that i will still subconsciously do it. any advice on where to start??

is two periods in a month normal??

i‘m 17 and for the past two months (april and may), i have been having my periods two times a month. my usual cycle before this change varied around 27-35 days according to the Flo app. but then from last month, i have been getting them every two weeks. my last cycle was 14 days and now most of them last between 14-19 days. i don’t experience any other symptoms, my periods are usual average when it comes to how much i bleed. but then after day 1, it gets lighter. before i get my period, i usually have one day of spotting. again, all of these symptoms are fresh and i have never experienced them before. should i be more concerned/seek professional advice???

my cycles are getting shorter

My cycles have been extremely short (around 15-19 days) for the past three months. Before this, it was at 30-35 days long. I know I should consult a professional but I’m very paranoid right now as to why this is happening. I’m 17, a teen, so could this just be my body adjusting???

I, 17F, have an asian father who, like most, is strict in many ways. I love make up, but my dad doesn’t allow me to wear any whatsoever UNLESS it’s an ultra special event. That being said, I don’t even wear “make up“ make up. The most I’ve done is a bit of concealer, mascara, and blush. On the daily, I like to feel ready and nice, so I only curl my lashes and wear mascara. However, my dad gets extremely mad at me for it and threatens to lock away my make up box despite me having paid for all of them. I’m 18 next year and many of my friends and classmates have no issue with wearing make up around their parents. I, of course, try to defend my reasoning for wearing it as I am nearly an adult and can fully make my own choices, but he just won’t budge. All my relatvies agree that it’s too much of a reaction from him, but he doesn’t understand where I’m coming from. What do I do??
