DAE feel awkward about the term "survivor" if your life wasn't in danger?

What happened to me was CSA and involved touching but my life wasn't in danger at all. And maybe the survivor term also correlates to surviving the aftermath of it mentally and such but I just feel so awkward about the term for my personal situation. Just wondering if anyone else feels the same or maybe I just overthink everything lol.

Clinic on resume?

In preparation of the clinic I'm taking this fall, just wondering if clinics go under "experience" or under what you've done in school (like activities under education section). If they go under experience, what role/title do you put?

How much time do you usually have between the end of summer job and start of school?

I’m at a small firm this summer and my last day is Friday but then I start school on Monday. I’m a bit annoyed I’m not having any time to relax. Especially since I took a summer class that only had its final last Monday. I feel like I’m genuinely losing my mind from this lack of break. I’m so exhausted everyday. So tired. Genuinely depressed and dreading going back. Not to mention still waiting on the summer grade which is about to send me truly into a full blown panic attack. Do most internships end earlier than mine? When I accepted the position, I acknowledged the close turn around at the end of summer but didn’t realize how frustrating it would actually be.

If you've ever crawled out after hitting rock bottom mentally, what'd you do/how'd you do it?

Just that. What was it that got you out of your bad place (or at least substantially out)?

Who answers the mental health self-referral line?

Are they advice nurses somewhere? They don't seem like they're that informed on mental health...

I called a month ago and she had no clue what to do. She transferred me around and I ended up just being transferred to an advice nurse who never answered.

Trauma therapist recomendations in SF?

I can't handle the effects of SA when I was 4/5. Tried therapy twice but with Kaiser..iykyk. Gave up on the idea of therapy completely but am at my breaking point. Does anyone have any therapist recommendations in SF or nearby SF (ideally no further than like San Bruno)?

Feel like my CSA doesn't matter because it's not as bad as what others went through

I think this is a somewhat common feeling but it feels like because it wasn't worse, it is somehow invalid. Which is ridiculous. I was forced to rub Vaseline on my grandfather's you-know-what multiple times. That's actually really bad. If anyone told me that happened to them, I would be like yeah that's CSA for sure and really bad. But for some reason, when it's me, it doesn't feel like it counts. Does anyone else feel that? Like you can reasonably say that what you went through was really bad but when it's you personally it doesn't feel like it counts?

Cannot handle the anxiety of exams!

Rising 2L. Decided to take PR over the summer and I'm so burnt out. Exam on Thursday at 2pm. The anxiety I feel only gets worse and worse as the semesters go on. I feel nauseous the whole week leading up to the exam. I cry everyday. My heart has nonstop palpitations. I physically cannot handle it. This is so insanely stressful and I'm also dreading how I only have like 2 weeks after this final to chill before the new semester starts. Ugh. I guess I'm just venting but wow this anxiety is always so overwhelming and unbearable.

I can’t handle it

How do you all get through the day? Everyday I cry and stay up til 3 with all my thoughts and barely get the things I need to done. Even basic tasks are really hard for me these days like brushing teeth and showering. I just don’t feel like anything is gonna get better. It’s all just too much. I can’t handle it.

And I’m just so angry that he did this to me. If he just didn’t choose to do what he did, I would be a whole different person. It feels like he ruined my life and it only continues to get worse. How could he look at me sexually?? His 4/5 year old granddaughter. How could he go behind my parents back and destroy me?? Little me was so sweet and innocent. She was so adorable and happy and playful. Now I’m an anxious, angry, miserable, hopeless 26 year old. He ruined everything.

How to move on from CSA?

I'm 26F and when I was 4/5, I was CSA'd multiple times by my grandfather. For the last few years, it's really eaten at me. I think it's mostly because I'm realizing how much it has affected me and mourning who I could have been without it. Anyway, lately it's been horrible. I am so incredibly anxious, I have no hope for my future, I struggle to get basic tasks done everyday like brushing my teeth, taking a shower, etc. Everything just feels so hard. I also think my contamination anxiety also has to do with it a bit but idk. I'm just so tired. Just wondering if anyone else who has dealt with SA has any tips on how to move on with my life? I tried therapy twice and hated it both times. They actually gave me more anxiety. I just feel so stuck and almost literally unable to do anything.

Anyone do the 5k today for the SFM?

Started my watch right when crossing start line and the 1 mile sign was at 0.9 miles (according to my watch), 2 mile sign was at 2.11 miles (according to my watch) and then at the end of the race, it tracked 3.22 miles as the total distance. My time on the watch was only 1 second difference from the actual result so I know I started and stopped at the right time. I understand these things aren’t exactly 100% precise but the SFM is usually right on it with the 3.1. I guess after the full marathon mileage debacle a few years back, I’m always a little suspicious lol. Still a good race, just wondering if anyone else had mileage discrepancies.

How do you move on from csa trauma?

(26F) I feel like I'm drowning from this. Happened at least twice when I was 4/5 at the hands of my grandfather. I don't know what to do. Therapy is off the table (super bad experiences that left me way worse than I was coming in). I just don't know how to move on. I feel like I'm getting worse every day. I cry about it almost every single day. I feel he ruined my life and so many of my other problems can be linked to this. I just dont know what to do and I feel paralyzed by this. It's obviously been a problem for a long time but for the last three years, it's been nonstop torture.

Kaiser mental health self-referral line...

Called them a week ago because I'm at the lowest I've ever been. I don't really know what I was looking for - therapy, medication, I don't know - just some help. For some reason, she decided to transfer me to the front desk of psychiatry at my city's main Kaiser medical center who then transferred me to an advice nurse who never answered after about 10 minutes of waiting. Am I missing something as to what self-referral means? I thought they'd book me with a mental health professional when I called the line. If I wanted an advice nurse or even the front desk of the psychiatry department, I would've just called that outright. What can I do?

Any resources to better understand exam writing?

I will meet with academic support and advisors at my school as well as my professors, but I'm curious if anyone is aware of any resources to understand how to write law school exams. I had a disastrous second semester (like really really unimaginably horrible). In two of my classes, I am certain that it was my writing caused me this awful gpa. I did decently the first semester but I don't think I ultimately knew what I was doing - I just happened to do better than others. And I think the curve masked all that I didn't know and made me think I understood what I was doing better than I did.

I'd also love any words of comfort that a disastrous 1L spring semester will not have screwed up everything. I don't want big law or anything prestigious.
