When to taper?

Hi everyone! I’ve had a pretty good response to Sema. After dropping from 270 to 220 naturally, through lifestyle changes and bettering my mental health, I started sema. It’s been almost 5 months and I’m now down to 185.

I’m 27 and 5’ 9”. My question is… when do I know when to taper?

I haven’t been under 200 lbs in over 5 years, so this is new to me. I dropped from a size 16 to a size 10. According to my BMI, I should be around 145? But that’s insane!

I don’t wanna look underweight, but I can’t yet see the loss other people have commented on.

Looking for someone to snap some pics of me next weekend

I’m coming to Destin for a solo birthday weekend from 8/21-8/23. Long story short, it’s my 27th birthday, I’ll be 1000 days sober from alcohol, and I’ve lost almost 100 lbs from my heaviest weight. I just want a few nice pics of me all dressed up on the beach to celebrate these milestones!

If there’s anyone out there looking to like practice photography or that has a “mini session” package that’s affordable or if you just feel so inclined to help me out…. Message me!

I will be asking to move the chat to Insta immediately so that I can verify you are who you say you are.

And no, I’m not an influencer lmao.

Chair set up Henderson Beach

Hi! I’ll be flying to Destin and I obviously am not bringing beach gear. Because I’m there for such a short time, I don’t really want to buy anything. Is there anyone who does beach chair/umbrella rentals on Henderson beach state park?

Even if it’s cheaper to buy, I’d rather not be wasteful! Thank you!

Side quests?

I work full time and am in school, so I’m on a pretty strict schedule. I have a 3 week break from classes and I’m looking for some side quests to make me feel alive again while I have more free time!

Qualifications:
- Activity could be done after work (preferred) on a weekend day, or possibly a long weekend
- Not prohibitively expensive
- Can be done solo!

Some side quests I’ve done in the past:
- joined different book clubs
- dinner clubs
- hikes and bike rides
- joined a weekly Spanish class
- pottery class
- solo camping on the Buffalo
- various exercise/yoga classes

I’m fairly active and enjoy being creative! Drop your fav hikes, classes, events, etc. in NWA (and nearby) below!

22 to [26]

1 horrendous breakup, 2 years of therapy, 3 cross-country moves, 4 years, and -90 lbs later! It takes time! But the effort is worth it! Feeling so good in my brain and in my skin, more to come!

I’ve objectively become more attractive, but I still see the same person in the mirror

I’m 26F, and I’ve never been exceptionally attractive. I was a chubby kid and was never particularly popular or unpopular. In high school, I became more alt, and I really found my stride in college. I was stick-thin, went to a small school, and my particular aesthetic was pretty desirable there. For the first time, I felt like I was attractive in a way that people noticed.

While I was in college, I got into a horrible relationship. Between the stress of that relationship, smoking too much, COVID, and generally not taking care of myself, I gained over 100 pounds. I went from feeling like I was at my most attractive to feeling like I was at my absolute worst - mentally and physically.

Over the last couple of years, I've gotten serious about bettering myself. I have a great therapist. I have a job that allows me to afford nice skincare and toiletries. I've become more active and lost around 80 pounds. I have a collection of cool tattoos and I found the right hair color for me. I started seeing a dermatologist and got on tretinoin.

I'm still not a smoke show, but objectively, I am the most attractive and mentally healthy I've ever been. People are nicer to me. Women compliment me. Men hit on me. I notice a difference in how I'm treated.

The thing is... I don't really see it.

I see the number on the scale going down. I see changes in my face when I look at old pictures. I know I'm not hideous, and thanks to therapy, I don't really care that much if I am. But when I look in the mirror, I still see the same old girl.

I don't feel like I've become a different person. I don't look in the mirror and think, wow, I'm attractive now. I just see me. The same person I've always been.

I think I expected losing weight and changing my appearance to somehow change the way I see myself, but it hasn't. I still feel like the girl who was never particularly pretty, even though my life and the way other people respond to me seem to suggest otherwise.

Has anyone else experienced this? Did your self-image eventually catch up with the way you actually looked, or did you just learn to accept that the person in the mirror is still going to feel like... you?

Palo Duro Labor Day

I have some time off for Labor Day (Sept 7) and am considering moseying over to PDC. I’m from Arkansas so used to the heat. For context, I was in Joshua Tree in May and it was definitely hot and dry, but I still enjoyed my time.

Is it going to be unbearable?

PDC has been on my list for a year or two and I’d like to make it work, but I want to be realistic.

Under 200 for the first time in 5 years!

At my heaviest, I stopped weighing myself because I was terrified I'd see 300 on the scale. Over the next couple of years, I made lifestyle changes and went from 275 to 220. I started semaglutide in April, and today I'm officially 20 pounds down. This morning I saw a number starting with 1 on the scale and almost screamed! I know weight fluctuates and I shouldn’t get ahead of myself, but I'm really proud of how far I've come, and I'm excited to keep going.

Height: 5’ 9”
SW: 220.6 lbs
CW: 199.5 lbs
GW: 165 lbs

took a girl home on pride…. now what?

I (26f) hosted a pregame for pride on Saturday. My friend invited some friends from work to come and long story short, one of the girls (call her S) and I hit it off. S was so hot I thought there was no shot, but the end of the night rolled around and I invited her home with me.

She came over and we had a great time, but when I dropped her home in the morning I couldn’t get a read on what she was feelings (mind you we got like 0 sleep and it was so early so I wasn’t super talkative either)

I talked to our mutual friend and she said that S had a good time and would try to get some tea!

I just don’t do one night stands like…. Ever! What do I do! I wanna see her again, like properly. Should I text? Should I wait to hear what our mutual says? I feel bad that I didn’t text yesterday!

How do I know if it was just a one night, heat of the moment thing?

26f in southern/mid USA!

Hi! As the title says I’m 26f! I enjoy traveling, live music, swimming in the creek, hiking, reading etc. I currently work in the nonprofit space and I’m getting my Masters in Public Service. I write and shoot film photography too (:

Went thru a pretty gnarly breakup about 3 years ago, spent some time traveling to “find myself,” and now I’m settled down and back looking for love! I prefer something slow and theoretically someone who lives somewhere that meeting in person would be possible.

Physically: I’m brunette, 5’9”, tatted, fem but not like super fem.

Ask me anything (:

down over 12 lbs in two months!

I, 26f, started the shot 2 months ago. I’m 5’ 9” and weighed 220.6 lbs when I began! Today I weighed in at 208.2! I’m excited by the results but it’s moving a little slow. Does anyone have any tips for losing more quickly? I want to get under 200.

Edit to say I weighed 280+ at my heaviest and lost about 60 lbs over 2-3 years with lifestyle changes and mental health improvement.

Hi! I am from Arkansas and I am headed to San Diego for work on Saturday. After my work conference, I’m picking up a camper van and the plan was to head up to Sequoia NP and then to Joshua Tree before flying back home from San Diego.

The issue is…. There are so many road closures in Sequoia now due to weather… and it’s gonna snow even more this weekend.

Sequoia was top of my list, so I was willing to make the 6+ hour drive from San Diego , but I’m not super comfortable driving in snow and if the roads are closed and the trailheads are inaccessible…. I’m thinking of pivoting.

I am definitely still going to Joshua tree but I am throwing around a few ideas:

  1. just extend my stay in Joshua tree for a few more nights
  2. go to LA for a day or two (I’ve never been, but don’t have a huge desire to go)
  3. replace Sequoia with Death Valley
  4. try to still go to Sequoia and see what happens

Please let me know thoughts or other suggestions! I am an experienced solo camper.
