I don’t understand the Star-Lord team-up

I haven’t played Angela in a long time, so I picked her up again recently, and honestly, I feel like her team-up with Loki plays much better than the one with Star-Lord. The wallhack is obviously pretty cool, but otherwise it’s basically just Divine Judgment without the AoE on the ground, except with a gigantic cooldown.

What’s the point of it? Maybe I’m dumb and I’m missing some obvious broken interaction, but everyone keeps saying the Star-Lord team-up is better. What am I missing?

Black Widow voice lines

I generally like her voice acting, but couldn’t they have recorded her Russian lines properly? This is the “thsnks” she says (honestly, I don’t even know if she has any other Russian lines), and it really grates on my ears. She says “spOsibO” instead of actually pronouncing it like “spasiba.”

Magik’s Russian voice acting is pretty bad too, by the way.

I got Lord today, but…

I got Lord on Hela today after 27 hours, and honestly, it feels embarrassing. She’s my only Lord DPS, and I mostly play tanks, but I know Lords are usually achieved in around 20 hours. That’s roughly how long it took me to get Lord on Rogue, Magneto, and Emma, and I got Lord on Gambit in only 18 hours.

I feel like I won’t even be able to proudly use the Lord icon. Even though I got it, I still feel really insecure on Hela. My aim is pretty bad, and I still don’t really understand how to properly find and hold an off-angle as DPS. People already tell me I’m shit and that I should just stick to playing tanks, and seeing a Lord Hela will probably only make people even more annoyed.

I’m trying really hard, but for some reason I just can’t seem to get any better. Is playing hitscan really just about having good aim? What’s the point of playing her if I can’t hold an off-angle, lose every duel, and can’t secure final blows?

I’ve seen so many videos saying that positioning is the most important thing, and then they show clips of someone sitting on high ground and shredding the entire enemy team while nobody even looks at them. Meanwhile, the moment I take an off-angle, highround or go in backline everyone immediately turns around and kills me. I genuinely don’t understand.

Am I really just destined to play melee tanks?

What’s more worth spamming into a tank — blasts or the beam?

I understand that with AoE you want to beam through the tank and hit everyone behind them, but in a 1v1 situation, which one does more damage?

Looking for Hela VOD Review / Hitscan DPS Advice

I’m trying to learn how to play hitscan DPS, specifically Hela. Could you guys watch these replays and give me some advice?

I try to learn her every season, but I always end up getting discouraged. I’ve been playing Hela since Season 0 and I’m almost Lord on her, but I still feel like I don’t actually know how to play her properly.

I’ll leave a few replays below. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, especially on positioning, aim, decision-making, and what I’m doing wrong.

50437232004 — loss

50500239145 — embarrassing loss 💀

50896832937 — loss

Please be honest and point out even the small mistakes. I really want to improve.

How do you actually take an off-angle properly?

I’m a tank main and I’m trying to learn how to play hitscan DPS, mostly Hela. I understand that I’m supposed to take off-angles, split the enemy team’s attention, etc. On paper it sounds easy, but in practice I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing.

I ALWAYS get focused and forced out. I’ve never had one of those situations you see in clips or guides where someone is standing off to the side or on high ground and just farming the enemy team. For some reason, the moment I take an off-angle, everyone instantly turns around and beats the shit out of me.

I also don’t understand how I’m supposed to take high ground on Hela. If I fly up there with the raven, I’m using my only escape.

All of this is made even worse by my mediocre aim, and by the fact that the game keeps forcing me to play tank by constantly putting me into lobbies where there are already 3–4 other DPS players on my team.

I don’t want to tank anymore. I want to learn something new. I even tell people in chat that I’m trying to learn, but they just make fun of me. Yeah, I know I’m bad, but that’s literally the point — **I’m trying to improve.**

I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong. It’s incredibly frustrating. I try to learn this every season, and every season this game just kicks me in the teeth until I lose all motivation.

What if Rogue could extend the buff from Absorb by dealing damage?

I think that would be amazing. You could maintain the buff for around 25 seconds (until Absorb comes off cooldown), and during that time you’d be able to keep using the stolen ability. It would still go on its original cooldown, so some abilities could be used more than once, while extremely powerful ones like Loki’s Lamp or Adam’s Soul Bond could still only be used once.

It would also add more depth to her gameplay and reward brawling and sustained aggression in order to maintain the buff.

I feel completely lost on her.

I’m mainly a tank main, but I like playing supports too. I have Lord Gambit and I’m almost Lord Mantis. I’ve figured out how to manage the cards and leaves, but when I play Jubilee I feel like an idiot with drool running down my chin.

My bubbles keep flying where they shouldn’t, the bubble detonation is always on cooldown when I actually need it, I don’t have time to charge the bubble, etc.

And I also got her enhanced attack, and I’m actually hitting the enemy with it (my aim sucks), but I end up dealing basically no damage. Am I understanding correctly that her damage falls off heavily with distance?

Team-up tips and gameplay advice for the new season

I haven’t played since Season 8.5, and I came back, picked up Angela, and honestly didn’t understand anything. There’s so much more damage, CC, and healing in the game now because of all the new team-ups that I don’t really understand how I’m supposed to be useful anymore. Either I explode instantly or I feel like I’m doing nothing.

I’d also like to hear your advice on Angela’s team-ups — how and in what situations should I be using them?

Does anyone even remember Tenacity?

Was it disabled or something? When it first came out, it worked really poorly and ruined the gameplay for a lot of characters (especially my beloved Rogue). Then I think they reduced it, and now it feels like it's basically not even there anymore.

Did I miss something? The devs seemed to promise they would improve the system.

I played today and got hit by Bucky's hook, Thing's grounding, Invisible Woman's pull, and Wolverine's leap all in the same match, often back-to-back, and I didn't see Tenacity proc on me even once.

Tips for using Magneto's ult

I'm a Lord Magneto, but I'd say around 7 out of 10 of my ults are pure shame. I either miss, or I'm just a tiny bit short on damage.

I'm pretty comfortable playing neutral, but when it comes to his ult... I don't know. I feel so much pressure whenever I have to use it that I get nervous and mess everything up.

On top of that, his ult takes a long time to charge, so it's really hard to properly practice using it in actual matches.

Hood is pretty much perfect

Yeah, I understand that it might be a little too early to judge, but let's be honest—Hood isn't exactly a complicated hero, so I don't think we're going to be wildly off here. Of course, in a week or two people will get better at playing him and we'll see more of his potential, but people will also get better at playing against him.

So far, Hood isn't some ridiculously broken monster like release Emma, he isn't garbage like release Rogue, and he doesn't completely destroy pretty much every tank like release Dino.

Not only is Hood well-balanced, but he's also not another melee brawl tank that instantly falls apart to poke.

And on top of that, this young man is pretty damn charming design-wise.

I think his release is a really good sign. Maybe the devs actually listened to us, and we're finally going to get another proper main tank instead of more of the same melee brawl slop.

How are you supposed to play Hood?

I don't really understand how you're supposed to play him, and my performance in matches has been pretty bad, to put it mildly. Is he really that heavily aim-dependent?

My aim is pretty mediocre, but even when I do hit my shots, his damage feels nonexistent. In Demon Form it's even worse—you can barely aim and it just feels like spray and pray.

Also, is there any point in firing only one gun? From what I've noticed, the spread seems to depend on how long you keep firing rather than whether you're firing one or both guns, unlike Mauga in Overwatch.

Alternative ways to nerf Cyber-Web Snare

I understand why they're making changes. A mini-stun every 3 seconds is definitely frustrating for a lot of heroes. But why this particular rework?

I feel like there were better options. For example, they could've increased the cooldown **only after the web actually stunned someone**, maybe to around 7 seconds. Or they could've separated the stun into its own ability with an independent cooldown, while leaving the web itself unchanged.

Another idea would've been something similar to what they did with Brigitte in Overwatch—move the stun into her ultimate instead of having it available all the time.

It's just sad to see one of the most unique characters in the game slowly get buried under bugs and weird balance changes.

They killed my Rogue, now they're killing Peni. At this rate, I guess I'll just become a Magneto main.

Any tips for more advanced Rogue combos?

I'm a Champion Rogue player with over 80 hours on her, and I'd say I'm pretty decent (around a 60% win rate). But I still struggle with some of the more advanced combos.

I've never really sat down and learned specific combo routes—I mostly improvise. In actual matches, I rarely go for flashy combos because I usually spend one mobility skill to engage and keep another one for escaping.

Lately, though, I've realized that's probably one of my biggest weaknesses. I don't always burst down squishy targets fast enough. A few days ago I saw a combo on Reddit where you still have Slam and Shield Bash available to disengage afterward. I've been trying to replicate it, but I just can't get it consistently.

I know how to melee weave after Kick, but that's about it. After that, I can't keep enemies airborne the way people do in those videos. It feels like I'm missing some animation cancel or another tech. Or maybe I'm just not fast enough with my inputs.

Any combos with Wanda's team-up?

I wasn't around when this team-up was first released, so I missed the original meta. Are there any staple combos with it, like **shot → Mag Cannon → shot**?

Also, are there any animation cancels involving the team-up activation, or any combos that make good use of the empowered Mag Cannon?
