How much more fragile is the 17 Pro Max?

I've had an iPhone 16 Pro Max since its release and want to upgrade because it often lags and gets hot even during calls, a disappointing experience for a $1000+ high-end phone.

However, I reall really love the titanium frame and how sturdy it is. The device travels with me, and I appreciate the reliability of the build quality. It already had a few rough moments with me and not even a visible scratch or dent in the casing.

How much more fragile is the aluminum body of the 17 Pro Max really? I've read that dents are a problem, and that the colors can change and even chip.

I don't want to pay over $1000 for a device where wear and tear is "part of the product experience".
