B&H Filmosound 535 Projector - Projector bulb doesn't light

I'm at the beginning stages of troubleshooting. The projector bulb doesn't light. The filaments have continuity - bulb looks healthy. Any obvious places to look for a fault - common failure points, switches, fuses? I have a schematic of the projector.

Thanks

DIY control arm replacement - What are my chances?

I've watched the videos. I've got a mid-torque impact, and am considering getting an air hammer. I'd be working on it at a friend's country house, so if the bolt shears I will be stuck out there (I suppose I could drill it out and walk to the nearest hardware store for a replacement bolt). My understanding is that the pinch bolt is the crux of the job - should I just pay the $$ and have my shop do it, or will patience and a cool head get the job done? And if you think I should have a go at it, any tips are appreciated (not counting penetrating oil, heat, air hammering).

Milk Frother Case - Help

Here is my Tinkercad of a case I'm making for a Turbo-Frother (😄 - whisk - button - motor - 18650 batteries - charger). I'm fairly new to 3D printing and could use any/all advice, in particular:

  1. How would you join the cap (which will have a usb-C charger and leds) to the body? Is there a way to snap it on, superglue, etc?
  2. What material would you use? Settings I should be mindful of?
  3. What orientation should this be for the printer? I'm thinking vertical (small hole on the base). It would be approx. 8-9", which I think works for the printers at my makerspace. Or would horizontal be stronger - maybe the gentle slope of the sides would work horizontally?

Anything else I'm overlooking?

DHO804 Update --> new serial number?

Just got a 804 and updated (hacked?) it to be a DHO924, as per the RetroChannel instructions. So far, so good. But I noticed that my serial number has changed. On the video, his serial number does NOT change. Am I missing something? Does this matter? I've kept the old file, in case I want to reverse the update.

Help with new dh0804/924

Hi all.

I'm a newbie, learning about oscilloscopes. I just received my DHO804, spent some time learning my way around, and just upgraded/hacked it to be a 924. I see the model has changed, as well as the serial number, bandwidth and memory. But UltraAcquire doesn't seem to work. I see the various options, but they have no effect on the display. Am I missing something, or was the hack...not so great?

Thanks

Beginning scope user - Help me Learn

I'm waiting on my DH0804. I've been reading up and already know how not to blow it up. I'm also pretty confident that I will be able to upgrade it and find my way through its menus.

Can you suggest activities/projects that will help me learn about electronics and the capabilities of the scope? Offhand, I was thinking that tracking a signal through an amp, or learning how to make a curve tracer for matching transistors (or does the 0804 do that natively?) would be good experiences.

I may have jumped the gun a bit in buying this (I'm still setting up my workshop - I've been soldering, learning about components, etc) , but I'm excited to start learning!

DH0804 from AliExpress - Legitimate?

I have a DH0804 in my cart for $302, with free shipping. This is over $100 less than elsewhere. I can't decide if I'd be stupid to get it or stupid to pass it up. How can it be this much cheaper and still be legitimate (not fake, w/ warranty)?

Isolating Transformer - Disconnect Ground?

I just picked up a BK Precision TR -110 ISOPACK. When I checked it out, I noticed that the isolating outputs were grounded to the chassis and direct outputs. Does this present any kind of hazard? Would it be better for me to disconnect the isolating ground connection?

Idea for Xmas Ornament

I just made my first PCB (Kicad/JLCPCB) and I'm starting to think about making a blinking led Xmas ornament. It will be in the shape of a Xmas tree and have blinking multicolored and/or clear leds on it. ideally, it will all be smd. I imagine a small button battery and a to turn it on/off. Two pads that you would bridge with your thumb would cycle between clear, mutlicolor, clear blinking, multicolor blinking. An ATTiny85 would program it.

Questions:

  1. Am I reinventing the wheel? If so, are there sources I can mine to design my own ornament?
  2. Will I need a decade counter/shift register (74HC595)?
  3. Can you recommend and particular smd LEDs that would look Christmasy? The only ones I used were blue/red, square, and computer looking.
  4. Any thoughts are appreciated!

Tool for New Upholsterer

My wife and I are going to be traveling to an upholstery camp in Michigan in June, right on her birthday. I'd like to get her a lovely tool to celebrate this new interest of hers. We live in an apartment, fwiw, and it's not clear what form this interest will take after the camp. What do you think?

To be honest, I'm not even clear on what essentials we would need to get going with upholstery after the camp - maybe that's the first question I should be asking.

TY!

What can I do with these tubes? Amp??

Several years ago I tuberolled my Modwright Logitec Transporter. I now have these tubes sitting on my shelf:

- 2 Treasures CV181-Z

- 2 Tung-Sol Russian 6SN7 GTB

-1 Dumont-Emerson 3222-14-3 5U4 CB (rectifier, I think)

I'm looking to do something with these. Can someone suggest a good amp design that would make good use of them?

TY

Settings Changed - Change Them Back?

My Open Run Pro 2 are great. I really liked that I could triple tap on the left to relisten to the previous 15 seconds. But recently that changed. Now that does nothing. Is this from updated firmware, or is it something to do with my phone?

Update: I may have found the bug/issue. If I tap the 15 second rewind button in Spotify when listening to a podcast, the Shokz will then apply the triple tap to that. Buggy, but there you have it.

What Should I do Next?

So, disassembling a discarded scanner sent me down a rabbit hole of optical encoders, H-bridges, etc. End result is this - an esp tied to two motor with optical encoders that link to a Home Assistant XY chart. I can click on a point in the chart, or type in a degree, and the two motors will run and match that spot on a chart (e.g., 1200,650). I'm pretty jazzed about it. So, what can I do with it? I was thinking about a room-sized cat-and-mouse game, but really I just keep mentally replaying the opening breakfast scene from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

What can I do with this?
