[Spoilers Extended] why do some people trust the world of ice and fire as a credible source when it comes to the Reyne Tarbeck rebellion,Tywin reign as hand and Roberts rebellion

I seen some on this sub use TWOIAF as a credible source in debates here

im curious why when from the man himself grrm say this about it

>I also then made the point about **the various pressures in which Maester Yandel, the actual "writer" of most of the text, was working under, and how he had his biases as well**. I noted to the audience that **in particular Yandel starts to get quite careful when he writes about events in which various important, influential, powerful, and (most of all) still living people had a role**. He has **an interest in keeping his head on his neck. Ned and Stannis practically disappear from the account of the rebellion because Yandel has cut out his original account of the rebellion after Robert's death, Eddard's execution for treason, and Stannis and Renly proclaiming for the throne, and hastily did a revised and more politically acceptable one**. At that, George asked us where we imagined Yandel was at the time of the novels, and if maybe he's getting beheaded (with a bit of a laugh and a wicked glint in his eye, I'll add.) I explained that in my own head, Yandel is in King's Landing, clutching his book, showing up each day for an audience with the king... and each day being told perhaps the next day. Except on those occasions where, you know, they tell him the king's getting married today, and then whoops, Joffrey is dead, etc. ([Source](https://www.westeros.org/Citadel/SSM/Entry/12432))

case in point from the book

['The Red Keep was soon breached, but in the chaos, misfortune soon fell upon Elia of Dorne and her children, Rhaenys and Aegon. It is tragic that the blood spilled in war may as readily be innocent as it is guilty, and that those who ravished and murdered Princess Elia escaped justice. It is not known who murdered Princess Rhaenys in her bed, or smashed the infant Prince Aegon's head against a wall. Some whisper it was done at Aerys's own command when he learned that Lord Lannister had taken up Robert's cause, while others suggest that Elia did it herself for fear of what would happen to her children in the hands of her dead husband's enemies.]

and for the finale Yandel dedicates the book to Robert, then Joffrey, and then Tommen. Revealing he is presenting the book to the Lannister royal family, and taking note of current events like the Lannisters winning the war at present.

so yeah i take anything he writes about the reyne tarbeck massacre, tywins being a great hand, duskendale and Roberts rebellions with a grain of salt

What the fuck! You lost your damn mind, Jim? That was Stan! You just killed Stan! All right. What's done is done. Can't change it now. Reggie's just got to keep moving.

[spoilers Extended]why did orys baratheon take only a thousand knights to the boneway

why not archers, men at arms etc

for context

Orys later joined King Aegon I in the First Dornish War in 4 AC, leading an assault on the Boneway with one thousand picked knights. His horses struggled up the stony, narrow, and twisty paths, while his knights were hit with boulders from above, the work of defenders the stormlanders never saw. Where the Boneway crossed the river Wyl,^([1]) the cunning Dornishmen launched a night raid, raining arrows, rocks, and spears from above^([11]) as the stormlanders crossed a bridge. The bodies of the invading army blocked the Boneway from both ends, and when Lord Orys ordered his men to fall back, a triggered rockfall cut off their retreat. With no way forward or back, the stormlanders were massacred, save for Orys and a dozen other lords thought worth the ransom. However, Orys and his bannermen found themselves the captives of the Wyl of Wyl, the savage mountain lord called the Widow-lover
