First corvette, explorer/fighter

This is my first corvette build. I was aiming for simple, low part count, highest possible performance, max possible damage, with some amenities for exploring. There are no glitches or (intentional) offsets besides TazMD's Ambassador Walkway Template. Details:

  1. 4x reactors (1x Azimuth, 3x Medusa), 7x engines (2x Ambassador, 5x Longshore) - 4011u/s Boost top speed in space, 999u/s Boost top speed on a planet at sea level.

  2. 3500+ Maneuverability, handles like an Interceptor or better.

  3. 6x Phase Beam turrets hidden in the structure. Can kill Pirate Dreadnoughts in seconds.

  4. 4x Rocket Launchers hanging beneath the side wings and rear engine overhang. Only 3 can be fired simultaneously, but I put 4 just for symmetry. These are optional and can be replaced with any other weapon, but there are only 5 tech slots left. Since Rockets are the only weapon for which there are no aftermarket upgrades, they're the only one that fully fits in 5 tech slots (1x Rocket Launcher, 1x Large Rocket Tubes upgrade, 3x Corvette Torpedo Launcher modules).

  5. Hab + Walkway interior with: Planetary Scanner, Base Terminal Teleporter, Trade Terminal, 10 Storage Containers, Mission Radar, Refiner, Nutrient Processor, Living Wall, Multitool Rack, Save Point, First Aid station, Hazard Protection Unit. Using TazMD's Ambassador Walkway Template.

  6. Ambassador Cockpit for maximum visibility exploring, and a roof hatch just behind the cockpit I can quickly pop out of when I warp into a freighter battle to scan the freighters for S-class before engaging them.

Not all the parts blend together perfectly, but overall I'm happy with the form and especially the performance. I don't know what the max possible speed, maneuverability, and damage are for a corvette, but this far exceeds my best Interceptor (w/ highest stat seed and above-average but not perfect upgrades).

If anyone has any recommendations how to improve either its aesthetics or performance, I'd appreciate hearing them!

How do supercharged slots work?

When finalizing a corvette, how are Supercharged Slots assigned? Just random, or is there some rhyme or reason to it?

The first corvette I built had supercharged slots exactly how I wanted them - separated into 2 groups of 2 at each end of the tech space. That meant 2 for the pulse drive, and 2 for the phase beam.

But the second corvette I'm building is worse - 2 in the middle, and 1 on each end. I really want the 2 + 2 arrangement again. Is there any way to go about getting that?

Highest damage per shot neutron canon multitool (staff)

Hi all, as a relatively new player I've spent the past few weeks digging into posts and videos here and elsewhere, sorting out what the highest damage multitool is. Posting the result in case it's useful for others.

Something misleading is that the Damage Potential stat is not always an accurate reflection of actual damage in combat. The highest Damage Potential staves can show up to 190k-200k Damage Potential with perfect upgrade modules. However, there's another staff that shows lower damage potential than those, but actually hits for more per shot in combat:

  • Highest dmg per shot Neutron Canon staff: /r/NMSCoordinateExchange/comments/163sy6m/euclid_s_class_staff_connected_supercharge_slots/ (internal dmg bonus: /r/NMSCoordinateExchange/comments/163sy6m/comment/le9nkcl/)
  • Neutron Canon upgrades max dmg config: /r/NoMansSkyTheGame/comments/1e8knz5/highest_neutron_cannon_damage_configuration/
  • Neutron Canon max stat upgrades: 14% dmg, 14% speed, -50% recharge (/r/NMSCoordinateExchange/comments/1f5l98b/comment/lkvg4zu/)
  • Hero2u’s tests on it (Damage Potential stat vs actual combat damage): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNumh3phr2k&t=1m40s

You can test them yourself by getting this staff, and then one of the other high Damage Potential (DP) staves, swapping the same upgrade modules between them, and testing them in combat. Eyeball the floating damage numbers in combat to get a sense of the actual differences.

Getting the best staff/s is easy, but getting the best-rolled upgrade modules is hard. But you don't really need the best rolled modules. Average modules in one of these staves, plus an optimized exosuit, make you effectively immortal in this game. Perfect dmg upgrades may only really matter in PvP.

Found this crazy rare planet combination - a Paradise Planet with Bubbles, Phosphorescent Oceans, Monochrome tint, and Infested (Titan Worms). Didn't even know Paradise planets could be infested, much less Monochrome too. Named it Geidi Prime.

Found this water world in same region as several others I've posted, "Sea of Tatotla". This one looks like blue/pink/white cotton candy. It's also the deepest sea I've found so far in this region, breaking below -1500u depth. No base at the portal though, so bring your Pressure Membrane and Exocraft Summoning Unit if you portal there.

Found this cool water world near several others I've recently posted, in the Eissentam region "Sea of Tatotla". It's beautiful at night with glowing lavender water on the surface, and bright pink/orange/yellow water and sky during the day. Deep water, -1400u at the portal, where I put a base.

Found this irradiated water world with deep water, -1100u at the portal. Was hard to get good screenshots on the surface since most got washed out by the bright light. Sea life below is also irradiated with green/yellow bioluminescence. Base at the portal.

Found another waterworld a few jumps away from the first. This one is deeper, the portal being at -1400u. Built a base there for anyone portaling in. Activated-Quartzite + Dissonate.

Found this nice paradise planet with blue skies, tropical green water, and rainbows. Has both continents and large oceans, though they don't see too deep (200u at a random spot out of sight of land).

Found this huge mostly water world, with scattered high-mountain islands, in a purple pirate system. The islands are covered in underwater things like sea anemones, implying they were once underwater. The ocean doesn't seem particularly deep though, only about 300u in the few places I explored in the Nautilon. But it's a huge world, could be deeper spots.

u/S1eeper — 22 days ago

A pure waterworld, couldn't find land anywhere. Oceans are deep, bring your Pressure Membrane and Nautilon. 1170u at the underwater Portal, but I built a base there. It's mostly calm, but occasional huge swells of tidal waves happen.

I'm looking for a planet with extreme verticality in Eissentam. Preferably either Paradise-like or Arctic. [Example (Euclid)](/r/NoMansSkyTheGame/comments/1skoogd/beutiful_earth_like_planet_the_best_planet_i_have/). Anyone know of any like this?

Looks cool, didn't have time to find a good one, so I put a comm ball and beacon on a Harmonic camp in case someone else wants to.
