First day of junior year in like 5 hours and I can't sleep cuz of this stupid insomnia

I can't get to sleep no matter how hard I try. I'm not nervous or anything, I just can't sleep. It's so fucking annoying. Anyone have any tips on how to get to sleep without having to use meds?

My phone charges weirdly and I don't know why

So, I have an iPhone 14. Recently, I've been having trouble charging it. I've tried 2 cables, both the base iphone charger that you'd see at the store and both I've had to fiddle around with until my phone charged. I'm not sure if it's a charger issue or a phone issue but it's weird that both chargers barely worked. What should I do?

How was getting your first piercing?

When I got my ears pierced, I just finished my freshmen year and the day I got out my mom took me to get my ears done. The piercing place was this weird princess themed place that felt like a knock off version of Claires but it was fine. It was close to our house and they used needles instead of the gun so it was perfect for us. I got both of my earlobes done at the same time and when I tried to stand up, I proceeded to face plant and bust my nose open.

I have a shit tolerance to needles and my body decided we needed a nap. I was still awake but my vision was blurry and I couldn't hear. After I came back around, my mom just slapped a bandage on it and reset it until we could get to somewhere that we could actually fix it.

My dad nearly fainted because both ears were bleeding and I had dried blood all over my face. It was funny seeing him lose his shit. But that next month was a pain. I was have dizzy spells whenever I messed with the piercings and threw up once because of it. But when they kind of healed, I was fine from then on.

How were y'all's experiences?

Do you think Sleep could be redeemed?

So I finally got around to listening to Even in Arcadia(I’m aware it’s been a year, I’ve been busy). And when I was trying to piece together what was going on lore wise, it sounds like Vessel is trying to start over from the beginning with Sleep.

And if I got all the lore right, Sleep messed Vessel up very badly as seen in This Place Will Become Your Tomb and Sundowning.

I have a theory since Sleep is a deity that she doesn’t know how to love properly. Kind of think of it like she’s not tied down to anything so why bother with emotions. Like she takes everything very literally as seen with the line ‘tear my arms off’ when Vessel was talking about his cuts, he was legitimately worried she’d see that and just be like ‘oh! Can’t have you doing that!’ And rip his arms off.

It sounds like Sleep is a bit desperate in EIA but doesn’t want to change. So I feel like it’s kind of a coin flip if she can be redeemed. On one hand she did a lot of messed up things but on the other hand, if my theory’s correct, she’ll maybe have a moment of realization that she messed up Vessel and harmed the other ‘vessels’ before him.

Idk, what do you all think?

Who is your current main and why?

I main Wisp, primarily because I like playing support. I also like to go into older missions and help newer players without nuking a boss and taking away from their experience. Her fashion is also really good, I have her looking like a vampire rn lol. If her prime ever comes back, I’ll grind for her 100%. I don’t even care if I hate cracking relics.

How do you get into dating as someone with terrible social anxiety and just shyness as a whole?

So, I’m the stereotypical shy nerdy guy you would see on the Disney Channel. I like a lot of video games and typical nerdy stuff that people tended to judge and that kind of made me put up all these walls that I’m having a hard time putting down. This kind of led me to the ‘wait until someone asks me out’ method and it’s been like 5 years and this method is getting nowhere.

It’s not like I can’t talk to people, it’s just I kind of put this cold wall up to where people think I’m being an ass even though I’m playing 4d chess on Windows XP in my brain trying not to say some weird shit. I also see guys who are shredded and play all these sports that seem to date just fine and that put younger me down even more. I don’t know how to get my confidence back when it comes to dating and I want to get back into it. Any tips?

What’s your favorite song from Warframe and why?

Cold Below felt so out of place but so good at the same time. Like you have all of the sci-fi elements and then you have this sea shanty and it works within Warframe. This isn’t limited to Cold Below, if you told me there was a in universe boy band with 3 songs that all slap like wet spaghetti on a car hood, I would call you crazy.

What’s the one frame that you desperately tried to like but couldn’t?

I’m sorry to all the Nyx mains but her kit just wasn’t for me. I was trying out a bunch of the caster frames and after going through Jade and Nova, I tried Nyx and she felt more different than the rest. Instead of being the traditional caster where you’re doing AOE attacks and shooting giant sun lasers, her main gimmick was psychic stuff. I thought I would like her cuz psychic stuff sounded pretty cool ngl. She had the base stuff, like shooting bolts out of her hands. But she also had a brain wash ability where she made an enemy fight on her side. The only issue I had was that the AI would bug out on me and start doing fuck all while I was fighting for my life.

Idk if that was a common issue but having her 4 bug out on me like 5 times every mission kind of made me drop her. I do like seeing Nyx mains in public lobbies though. Y’all figured out how to make her work and I salute you for that.

How about y’all?

What has quarantine done to these newer students?

So for context, I teach taekwondo. I know this sub is mainly for actual teachers but I feel like this issue has been universal over every form of teaching.

But, over the last like 8ish years of teaching, we've seen a sharp decline in student behavior and just basic skills and knowledge. Our school teaches 4 year olds and up. We keep them all divided by rank and age. So, 4-6 year olds are in our junior program, 7-11 are in our kids program and 12+ are in our teen and adult program. We also specialize in dealing with kids with ADHD and autism. Most of the instructor team, including me, have some learning disability like ADHD so it's easier for us to relate to the kids and help them.

Another bit of info I need to give is that from 2020 to early 2022, we were kind of closed off as a school since Covid was still a major issue and we're in a full contact sport. So we kind of waited until the last minute to fully reopen and go back to in person classes.

In the last 3 years, we've had dozens of students who have behavioral issues we've never seen. We used to have kids with anger issues, anxiety and all that stuff but now we have kids who flat out argue with their parents and boss them around. We even had a kid who THREW A BRANCH AT THE PRESIDENT OF OUR TAEKWONDO ORGANIZATION. Safe to say, we sent that kid home right away.

Another example is the camp our organization does where it's just a week of taekwondo outside in the grass. A kid signed up who we tried to convince not to go because of how his behavior in class was and he was so bad at camp. He was around 9 at the time and was making sex jokes and was complaining the entire time about having to walk a mile to get lunch. His mom backed him a whole backpack full of 'emergency stuff' and requested that when we went to go swim in the pool on our brake, we help him change because 'he can't do it on his own.' And we KNOW he can do it by himself but he kept whining.

There was a girl smaller than him and younger than him who carried her gear bag, broken boards and water bottle who never complained once about that mile walk.

I believe a lot of the issues students are having is just being born or just being really young during quarantine and not knowing how to behave. On top of parents not disciplining or correcting their behavior. I'm your child's teacher, not a babysitter. If your kid needs help tying their hair back or carrying stuff, sure I'm more than happy to help. But I'm not supposed to deal with your kid who doesn't know how to behave while you get the week off.

Has anyone else have any issues with students like this?

Is salt water or mouthwash better to dislodge a tonsil stone?

I got one last night and I have a really hyperactive gag reflex. When I tried to get it out with the q-tip method, I threw up and had to stop. So, I've just been gargling mouthwash after I eat. But I've heard salt water also works so I was wondering which one was better. I know these can fall out naturally but I have a family vacation in like 2 days and I really don't want to go on and have my breathe smelling terrible.

I want you to share something you've done this week that you're really proud of or that just made you happy in some way

We often focus a lot on the bad of what's going on. Here, it's how our mental health is going. But right now, at this moment, I want you to share something you're honestly proud of. From, beating a boss in a video game, to just getting out of bed this morning, you still did something.

I'll go first, the other day, I got to babysit my niece and nephew. They're twins and around around 2 1/2. My niece looked through my sketchbook while me and my nephew listened to music as I cooked. For some reason they really like the Expedition 33 soundtrack even if they can't understand the lyrics. It was a nice break just getting to be around them. I know they'll grow up to be badasses since every member of their family is a black belt lol. I'm proud to be called their uncle.

Just finished all of Roathe's voice messages and I'm so glad the other Protoframes were willing to talk about their feelings and didn't want to fight instead

So, after witnessing my Drifter beat the shit out of Roathe 21 times until he agreed to talk about his feelings and trauma, I started thinking about what if the other Protoframes did what Roathe did and just didn't tell you anything. Like if Arthur decided to be like Roathe and we had to beat the shit out of him just to talk to us, I'm pretty sure there wouldn't be enough Arthur left to talk. This also made me realize, Roathe is just built different because he was able to take a thrashing from multiple Warframes, 21 times.

He's probably built different cuz he's Orokin and not just a normal person who was turned into a Protoframe.

But like imagine you're just chilling and this guy comes up and asks if you want to talk about your feelings and when you say no, they fucking grab a 6'3 magic metal suit and proceed to beat you into submission.

Warframe is insane

I encountered Vergil today and I need to share this experience

So, let me paint you a picture. I was grinding for Wisp, right? A bit of a more challenging assassination mission but other than that, it's fine. As me and my friend approached the elevator to the boss, we read, 'Vergil has joined.' He was a normal Excalibur that was MR 3. I saw this man proceed to fucking launch himself across the arena, take care of the boss in less than a minute, get it to last phase, then proceed to one shot it.

It doesn't stop there. No no no. I get this man in my matchmaking lobby, for the next hour straight.

Vergil, if you're reading this. You scare and amaze me. Thank you for helping me get Wisp, she's printing as we speak. And prayers to whatever creature that pissed you off that you plan to use that build on.

A couple of games that will take up months of your life that I enjoy :D

Elden Ring: Nightreign- If you liked Elden Ring then this game is a bit different. It's Elden Ring, Fortnite and any friendslop game mixed together. You have 8 characters (10 if you get DLC) that all have unique play styles, stats, and lore. Each match of nightreign goes over 3 days. The first 2 are spent getting loot and killing bosses for more loot and levels along with upgrades. Each night you fight a wave of enemies and then a boss that'll give you more buffs. The 3rd day is when you fight 1 of 8 nightlords. There's also pages upon pages of lore for each character that'll keep you busy for a minute. It's probably the shortest game on this list, I did everything and only racked up 30 hours over a 2 month period.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree- I know I just talked about Nightreign but Elden Ring's DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree is probably one of the best DLC's I've ever played. It's around 40$ and you have to have beaten a certain blood themed boss in the base game to unlock the DLC. It takes place in the land of Shadow where you have to hunt down one of the last Demi-God's; Miquella. It's 10x harder than the base game and gives off the feeling 'You're not supposed to be here.' If you know what you're getting into, then please purchase it! There's a couple dozen new bosses along with new lore, weapons, armor and characters you can get attached to! It's quite literally just a whole other game. From DLC alone I got over 200 hours just from doing the main bosses. There's only like 4 bosses you HAVE to beat, the other ones are optional if you're not up for the challenge.

Destiny 2- If you liked Halo or Mass Effect, I would heavily suggest D2. Most of the older stuff is free now but the newer stuff you can get in a bundle for like 20$ I think. It takes place in the far future where most of humanity has all died. However, a few people got resurrected as Guardians; people who can use space magic. There are 3 classes that can be narrowed down as, assassins creed, Mike Tyson and a Professor Dumbledore. You and your little guy; Ghost go commit intergalatic genocide for loot along with fighting entire gods because they looked at you funny and turning said gods into guns you can use for more genocide. If you've heard, it doesn't have any support from the devs but it's in great condition. There's a 10 hour lore video on the game by a guy called 'My Name is Byf' that I love to watch while playing. This game is mostly free btw besides expansions.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33- If you like turn based games and souls-likes, then please play this game! It's about a group of expeditioners going out to save their world from being painted away by the Goumage. It has an amazing soundtrack, along with arguably the most beautiful art I've ever seen. The story is amazing and made me cry at least 5 times. 1 of those times was in the prolouge! The first act takes around 5-7 hours to beat. The second act takes around 10-15 hours and the third act can take either 1-20 hours. It costs about $40 from when I last checked and was worth every penny. It also has a free DLC that can last you about 3-5 hours. From what I can tell it's still getting support from the devs even after being out for a year so I'd look out for some DLC news or something.

Is there anyway I can make a comic being a traditional artist?

I've been drawing since I was like 9 and really want to tell the stories I've kept locked in my brain for 7 years. I'm still only doing volunteer stuff and a summer job so I want to do something before I have to start paying bills and stuff. Are there any ways to become a comic artist being a traditional artist? If so, what do you suggest I use/post on?

Clocked in the first 100 hours today and I kind of wanted to share what I've accomplished!

I've been kind of posting my thoughts on Warframe over the last month-ish and I love it. I was a D2 vet and needed another looter shooter cuz I got everything I could. My favorite frame right now is Koumei. I'm aware she isn't the best but I really like how abilities and the thrill of gambling. I'm currently grinding for Valkyr, Yareli Prime, Jade and Wukong and I'm dying to get my hands on them!

When I was going into Warframe, the story felt slow but as soon as I got to the Second Dream, I fell down a rabbit hole that I don't want to get out of. Wally reminds me of the Winnower from D2 and he's a really fun villain. My favorite quest right now has to either be the Hex or the Old Peace!

The mod system took a minute to understand but it was really fun to play with when I understood it! I've had a lot of people help me out and welcome the batch of D2 players that I came with! I don't feel stressed whenever I go into a public lobby because every Tenno I meet is always willing to teach any new people the ropes.

I know I'm kind of rambling but this game is so big and going from 3 classes in D2 to over 60 just amazes me! I'm planning on sticking the Warframe for as long as I humanly can. I also can't wait to see what they have at Tennocon!

I just got to the old man yaoi part of the story and my head hurts. This lore is confusing

So, the Man in the Wall isn't really doing anything to me or can do anything to me so he just ragebaits me. Loid isn't just a drone with a personality disorder and he's actually a old guy with amazing hair. Then Entrati is in the year 1999 for some reason and has the hardest fit I've ever seen. Raiden from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is also in the year 1999 along with a anxious e-girl, some goth girl with a weird parasite tongue, ADHD if it was a person, girl who's hair looks like a slab of meat and a guy who can probably snap a Warframe in half but he chooses to use a sniper. And the Drifter is me but if I found the weed on the Zariman and if I didn't make that weird deal with the Man in the Wall. Teshin might as well be fucking dead cuz I haven't seen him since Erra bodied him in the beginning of New War. Lotus is like 3 people in 1 but I can choose which one she is and then pay for the other 2 later.

And Warframes are rotting corpses with a fleshy metal shell.

Did I miss anything?????
