When i get time i love to sit and look through some of my plants to see if anyone is nibbling! This particular vine is fairly young and is just getting established so this is my first time checking it :)

Pics 1-5: 2nd instar Olene mendosa.
There were 3 individuals in total and were pretty active. They are potentially the offspring of my moth Olivia! I released around 10 of her babies into my own garden, kept some to raise and the rest into a forest. Though I didn’t actually put any on this vine, their species loves to balloon across to new plants, and these three must’ve decided the sweet potato was the best plant to go to lol.

I couldn’t get any good close up pics of him as he was absolutely tiny and I also didn’t want to knock him off by accident lol. Too small for me to even attempt to ID.

Pic 7: Spodoptera sp.
Didn’t get many pics of him either, he was nibbling in a bit of an awkward spot. Very cool markings though, looking forward to coming back and seeing his growth and hopefully get a proper ID!

They grow up so fast

Forgot to share but I filmed Olivia doing her pre pupa march to find the prime spot :) She’s since built her cocoon and seems to have pupated now.

Lil dude decided to moult on the door right as I was coming to clean and give them more food. Thankfully he moulted just fine :)

SE QLD Australia. She was newly emerged and still drying her wings. So gorgeous.

Species is Chrysodeixis eriosoma. Bonus is her when she was a caterpillar

Hello, this is my 7 month old Cassia seedling. I noticed the roots were poking out of the drainage holes in the pot and decided to repot to a larger pot. When i removed it I noticed this is the root situation. There’s a strange twisty bit where the stem meets the roots. I’m new to plant care and never seen this before. Will my plant be ok?

She’s also got a new roommate! A random bagworm was hiding on some of the food cuttings I just gathered for her.
I will likely return him to the wild soon, but I would love to observe him for a bit as I haven’t had much experience with bagworms. I made sure they both have plenty of food and space and that the bagworm has access to materials to build his shelter with.

Species is Cethosia penthesilea (Orange Lacewing)

Species is Clogmia albipunctata. It’s actually a kind of fly!
