What to check on preowned steel rim reissue

Hey gang, have one coming tomorrow and I know some of these suffered from some qc issues - I remember reading some had wobbly aperture rings and some stiff focus toward infinity, anything else to check out that comes to the hive mind?

Zero 2000 6x6 coming this week!

Shoot digital and film atm - film from half frame up to 6x7. Have shot pinhole onto photo paper as part of a short experimental analogue photography course a year or so ago.

Randomly came across these handsome little devices this week and decided to use some money from my 40th birthday to treat myself to one

Looking forward to joining the gang!

Dust too big? 105mm

Long story short I have a 6X7 coming this weekend and have Ben been ordering some bits and bobs before it arrival - one is the 105, I am no stranger to dust in lenses but when I had a quick inspection, I saw quite a large piece (in lens terms) of detritus inside the lens

Without being able to test atm I was just looking for a bit of feedback from the community in terms of your experiences with anything anything the size inside a lens on this system

Likely to impact? Or suck it up and get shooting

Voigt 35 1.4 ii horizon distortion examples

Hey gang, was back and forth on this lens for a while due to reported barrel distortion - it’s hard to assess without sample pics so decided to pick up and see if I can live with it. I’m popping some horizons pics here if anyone else ever comes looking for the same thing I was! May chuck a brick wall on a roll to check closer straight lines in future but can live with these.

Straightened but no distortion correction

Nice lenses - Now what’s my first Leica m mount rangefinder going to be?

It’s true, we all know Leica glass is the least interesting part of shooting Leica. The real magic is in its leading implementation of the rangefinder mechanism - please don’t recommend and of those cheap imitations - they are simply a path to misery.

For those who have shot both - Aside from "because it's lecia", what are the genuine reasons people choose the steel rim reissue over the Nokton 1.4 ii?

I mean, I know it can be a preference, and all small fast primes come with trade-offs, but for me the Nokton offers better close focus, some glow, but more controlled wide open (I know people do like that Leica glow, though). It can be picked up for 20% of the price pre-owned.

The only downside of the Nokton II seems to be barrel distortion, which may be the reason you went for the SRR over it.

Would just like to hear from folks who have used both and why they may have settled on the srr

Filter turned out to be a bargain

A gnarly drop - proper dink on the top plate but the filter took all the lens brunt

Anyway to tell if this is a camera light leaks or a loading issue (into cam or during dev)

Negatives touching?

Just pulled these out of the tank and there’s a dark almost shadowy streak across maybe 4 pics

Just wanna check what this might be

7 days after extraction - infection or just recovery

So had an extraction of a molar a week ago today

There was an underlying infection that the dentist said would clear up now extracted

I understand some soreness is to be expected, but the general area feels a bit swollen still to me and tender. Just after either confirmation that everything looks as it should about a week after extraction or if I should make a follow-up appointment.

Excuse my gross teeth!
