Glamorous Gal Gadot's Evil Queen

Friends, don't listen to magic mirrors. They don't know what they're talking about. Gal Gadot is gorgeous.

This doll's sculpt is on point, which is the primary reason I bought her. As far as details go, she isn't as immediately eye-catching as most Limited Edition dolls, but that's because of her dark color palette and severe dress style. They clearly didn't skimp on her when her dress runs neck to floor with uniformly sewn sequins and her full sleeves sweep with embroidery. Her look is simply understated compared to the more colorful princess dolls that take just as much work.

No regrets about buying this queen!

Took one of my American Girl dolls out and about yesterday for some photos. This is Dahlia! She's a Truly Me 119, wearing Ariel-inspire ILY fashion pack outfit, which some American Girl accessories. I'm happy with how these photos turned out.

The Enchantment of Masquerade Esmeralda

I missed out on the Masquerade Series upon first release, but was fortunate enough to find Masquerade Esmeralda for close to retail a few years later. She is, simply put, a jewel of a doll, blazing with color and rich with detail. I cannot recommend her enough!

This week’s character is Elsa!

Starting this week is a doll just too good to let go, it's Elsa from Mattel's Anna and Elsa of Arendelle set! Featuring Elsa in a rare unique outfit that is inspired-by rather than directly from the movie and looks very much like she's taking some awesome fashion cues from Anna:

Beautiful Brass Key Jasmine

Brass Key's porcelain dolls are absolutely lovely, so of course I had to add their Jasmines to my collection! I own two, Jasmine in her teal outfit and Brass Key's take on her purple dress.

I was fortunate enough to get teal Jasmine in box and enjoy her against Agrabah's cityscape, plus the very nostalgic older Disney artwork. Her face is positively enchanting and the layers of her clothing look shimmering and delicate. I love the tassels! I added the peacock ornament to her box and didn't remove it for this photo shoot because it's taped up there!

As for purple Jasmine, please forgive me for not removing her from her case to do a full spin around- I'm a bit protective of her! I bought her first, no box, but she came with a stand. A unique take on the purple dress- the only time I've seen it with green elements added! Another lovely Jasmine.

Time for a Jasmine nuiMOs fashion show!

I bought my Jasmine nuiMOs at EPCOT, so I got to hand-select her. She has the cutest little dimple under one of her eyes! I love unique little quirks like this.

  1. Bohemian Fashion Outfit!

  2. Top and headband from the Mulan Outfit, rainbow skirt from Etsy!

  3. This is the Ursula Style Outfit, but I really feel like it has more of an Atlantis vibe.

  4. Jasmine in her default outfit, which she came with. The Rajah plush comes from a different brand entirely, it's an accessory for American Girl's Jasmine doll, but he scales perfectly with this Jasmine!

Showcasing Mattel's Original Jasmine Dolls

I saw "Aladdin" in theaters in 1992 and what I wanted more than anything for Christmas that year was a Jasmine doll. I loved her so much- and when I grew up, I wanted to have her exactly as I remembered unboxing her on Christmas morning when she was new: shinning, shimmering, and splendid. So I tracked down her and some other older Jasmines eBay. They are as lovely as I remember and bring me so much joy.

  1. Original Jasmine. Jasmine's purple dress, rather than her default teal outfit, was always my favorite, and what I display her wearing. It's so gorgeous! I wish doll outfits still used whatever this pink material it is- it was very common on '90s dolls, now you don't see it anywhere. I also really love the sparkles printed on her outfit. For a time, that was a staple of Disney dolls and gave them an extra touch of magic, like they were all sprinkled with pixie dust.

Turning her around, you can see a few quirks of displaying her- since I did not want to undo her in-box hairstyle and remove her original hair bands, I couldn't take out her teal headband. So, it's still in her hair; I simply do my best to hide it from view. And apparently one of the rubber bands has completely decayed from age- yikes! I'll add fixing that to my to do list.

  1. Arabian Lights Jasmine. I didn't own this doll as a child, but oh I wanted to! I don't have much to say about her because her beauty speaks for itself- but how wonderful I can enjoy not only her, but the original box art for these dolls! It's very nostalgic.

  2. Special Sparkles Jasmine. I remember seeing this doll in the Disney Store as a child and falling instantly in love. This particular doll is not my original, but a replacement I bought for display, because my childhood one grew dingy with time and love. She is a stunner, the most beautiful shade of blue and absolutely dripping in sparkles. A true diamond of a doll.
