FOR HIRE — Freelance / Remote Work

Hey! I'm a college student based in Kolkata, currently balancing my degree with tutoring and some club work on the side — and I'm looking to take on freelance or remote work to go along with all of that.

A bit about how I work: I care about actually getting things right, not just getting them done. If I take something on, I follow through — I don't disappear halfway or hand back sloppy work just to close it out. I ask questions when something's unclear instead of guessing and hoping for the best, and I'd rather over-communicate on progress than leave you wondering where things stand.

Most of my background is in web development and general tech, but honestly, I don't want to box myself in. I've picked up new tools and skills fast whenever a project demanded it, and I enjoy that part — figuring something out on the fly rather than only sticking to what's familiar. So beyond dev work, I'm just as happy to help with:

- Bug fixes and small technical tasks

- Automation and scripts to save you time on repetitive stuff

- Research and data-related work

- Virtual assistance and general online tasks

- Content or document-related work — I regularly produce clean, well-structured written material, so this isn't unfamiliar territory

If you're not sure whether your project fits into any of these neat categories, that's fine — genuinely, just reach out anyway. Some of the best work I've done started as a vague "not sure if this is something you'd do" DM.

I'm looking for part-time, project-based, or ongoing work — whatever fits best on your end. I'm free most evenings and weekends, reliable about deadlines, and available to start quickly, so this isn't a "maybe next month" situation.

If you've got something in mind, drop me a DM with the details, your timeline, and budget, and we'll figure out together whether it's a good fit. Even a rough idea is enough to start the conversation — no pressure either way.

You can see some of my dev work at swagata.tech

[HIRING] Content Creator Needed — Apply via DM

I'm currently looking for a few creators for an upcoming opportunity and wanted to reach out here first.

You don't need a huge following or a long list of previous collaborations. I'm more interested in creators who are comfortable making authentic content, have their own style, and can deliver consistently.

There’s flexibility around the type of content you create, so whether you're into lifestyle, gaming, fashion, fitness, beauty, education, tech, or something else entirely, feel free to reach out.

This is a great fit if you're looking to build your portfolio, get more opportunities, and turn your content into an additional source of income.

If you're interested, please DM me directly. I'd much rather connect through DMs than have you leave everything in the comments.

In your DM, send me:

  • Your social profiles or portfolio
  • A few examples of your previous content
  • Your niche/content style
  • Your expected rate

I'll go through the submissions and reach out to creators who are a good fit for the opportunity.

restaurant patio heater refurbishment right before fall dining season

restaurant owners throw away $400 tall propane patio heaters every autumn because the pilot lights get clogged with dead spiders and carbon buildup. they literally leave them sitting out by the commercial dumpsters behind downtown strip malls.

i throw them in my pickup truck, spray down the burner orifice with $4 brake cleaner, polish the brass connections with steel wool, and replace the $6 piezo igniter module from amazon. costs me ten bucks and 30 minutes of labor per unit. sell them right back to competing patio bars on facebook marketplace for $180 a piece every september. cleared six grand last fall doing this on weeknights.

I accidentally made money by storing people's boxes for a few weeks

Didn't even mean for this to become a side hustle.

I live near a college, and one friend asked if he could leave a couple of boxes at my place over summer break. He gave me $20 because it was still cheaper than renting a storage locker.

Then he told his friends.

Before I knew it, I had boxes, a monitor, a guitar, and even an office chair sitting in one corner of my room. I just started charging based on how much space things took up.

Nothing insane, but it made me a few hundred bucks over the break.

Only rules were no food, no valuables, and everything had to be labelled after I mixed up two identical boxes once Still feels weird telling people I got paid to basically become a temporary storage unit.
Anyone else stumble into a side hustle completely by accident?

Thinking about coming back after quitting during Furina's release

Hey everyone,

I've been thinking about getting back into Genshin Impact after a pretty long break. I quit around Version 4.2 when Furina was released, and I haven't really kept up with the game since then.

I originally loved the exploration, music, and world, but over time it started feeling more like a daily chore than something I was excited to play. Eventually I just stopped logging in.

For those of you who came back after a long break, how was the experience? Was it easy to get back into, or did the amount of new content feel overwhelming?

I'm not too concerned about the meta or having every character. I just want to know if the game is still enjoyable as a casual player who can put in an hour or so a day.

Would you recommend coming back now, or do you think the game hasn't changed enough to make it worth returning?

A small MCP tip that made my projects much easier to manage

As a student using ClaudeMCP on a regular basis , one mistake I made early on was trying to cram everything into a single MCP server.

Splitting it into smaller servers (GitHub, filesystem, database, etc.) made everything easier to debug and maintain. I also stopped exposing every backend function and instead gave the model a handful of well-designed tools. The responses became noticeably more reliable.

For me, that's the real strength of MCP. It's less about "AI using tools" and more about having a clean, reusable standard that works across different clients.

What's one thing you've learned while building with MCP?

Need advice on earning while in college

Hey everyone.

I'm 19, from Kolkata, currently in college, and I've been trying to figure out a way to earn a bit more on the side.

I already teach a few students, so I do have some income, but tbh it's getting pretty mentally exhausting. A lot of the time my payment depends on the guardians, and overall I'm just not enjoying it anymore. I'm not looking to get rich overnight or anything, I'd just like to earn somewhere around ₹5k–15k a month.

I've also looked into freelancing, but as someone who's just starting out it feels really difficult to land the first few gigs, and some platforms expect you to spend money just to apply for jobs, which isn't really an option for me right now.

So I just wanted to ask if anyone here has been in a similar situation. What do you guys do to earn while you're in college? How did you get started? It doesn't have to be online either—I'm open to pretty much anything that's realistic for a college student.

Thanks in advance! :D

Title: URX Core68 HE after 1 month — this ruined every cheap keyboard I've ever used

I've spent my entire life using those ₹300-800 office membrane keyboards. You know the type—the mushy keys, inconsistent feel, spacebar that sounds like it's about to snap in half, and zero satisfaction when typing. I genuinely thought that's just how keyboards were.

A month ago I picked up the URX Core68 HE (Contour) as my first proper keyboard, and... yeah, I get the hype now.

The first thing that hit me wasn't even Rapid Trigger or Hall Effect switches.

It was the sound.

This thing sounds insanely good. Every keypress has this deep, creamy, marbly thock that's honestly addictive. I've caught myself opening Monkeytype at 2 AM just to hear it. Videos absolutely do not do it justice. If you told me this was an ₹8-10k custom board based on sound alone, I'd believe you.

Then there's the feel. The switches are ridiculously smooth, stabilizers are excellent out of the box, and the whole board feels far more premium than its price suggests.

Gaming has been amazing too. Rapid Trigger feels fantastic in Valorant and Apex, but honestly, even outside gaming, typing college assignments and coding has become something I actually look forward to.

The software isn't perfect, but that's about the only complaint I have.

For ₹4,200, this keyboard is honestly stupid value. I still can't believe this is what you get at this price. It completely changed my expectations of what a budget keyboard could be.

10/10. Absolutely zero buyer's remorse.

Now I just need a mouse that's worthy of sitting next to it. 😭 I'm still using some random ahh budget gaming mouse that I've had forever, and after upgrading my keyboard it feels like the weakest part of my setup.

Any recommendations around ₹2-4k? I mostly play Valorant, Apex, and story games.

Title: Need help choosing a monitor arm for my LG UltraGear (24GS60F-B)

A few days ago I made a post asking for advice on improving the aesthetics of my desk setup, and almost everyone recommended getting a monitor arm as the biggest upgrade. So I'm finally looking into one.

This is my monitor: LG UltraGear 24GS60F-B (24", 180Hz, VESA compatible).

Monitor Link : https://dl.flipkart.com/s/2FrMFLNNNN

My priorities are:

- Solid build quality with minimal wobble.

- Smooth adjustments and good cable management.

- Enough height adjustment to free up desk space and improve ergonomics.

- Clean, premium-looking design (going for a minimalist battlestation).

A few things about my setup:

- I have a desk with an existing grommet hole, so I can use either a grommet mount or a C-clamp.

- Single monitor only.

- I'm in India.

Budget is around ₹3,000, but I can stretch a bit if the improvement is genuinely worth it.

What monitor arms would you recommend? If you're using this monitor (or another 24" LG UltraGear), I'd love to hear what arm you're using and whether you'd buy it again.

Thanks!

Need recommendations for a wireless gaming mouse (₹3k–5k budget)

Hey everyone! I'm finally looking to upgrade from my EvoFox Blaze Ultra to a wireless gaming mouse and could use some recommendations. My budget is around ₹3k–5k, although I don't mind stretching it a little if there's a noticeably better option.

Comfort is my biggest priority since I spend long hours gaming as well as studying, so I'm looking for something ergonomic with a good sensor, low latency, decent battery life, and solid build quality. I mostly use a palm grip with the occasional relaxed claw grip, and my hand size is roughly 19 × 10 cm.

I've been looking at options like the VXE R1 Pro, ATK F1, Scyrox V8, and the Razer Cobra, but I'm finding it hard to decide. If you've used any of these—or have another recommendation in this price range—I'd really appreciate hearing your experience, especially regarding long-term reliability, comfort, and after-sales support in India.

Thanks in advance!

Need advice on improving my desk aesthetics (Pics attached)

Hey everyone!

I finally got around to upgrading my setup a bit, but I feel like the desk still looks incomplete. I've attached a few pictures, and I'd love some honest feedback on what I can do to make it look cleaner and more aesthetically pleasing.

Current setup:

- Ryzen 5 5600X

- RTX 2060 Super

- 16 GB DDR4

- Gigabyte B550M

- LG UltraGear 24" 144 Hz

- URX Core68 HE keyboard

- EvoFox Blaze Ultra mouse

I'm aiming for a clean, minimal setup. I don't mind RGB, but I usually stick to a single color instead of rainbow effects.

I'd love suggestions on literally anything:

- Desk layout

- Cable management

- Lighting

- Accessories

- Wall decor

- Monitor positioning

- Shelves, pegboards, plants, figures—anything you think would improve the overall look

Whether it's a ₹500 upgrade or something I can save up for later, I'm open to all ideas. Feel free to roast the setup too if you think something looks off. Thanks in advance!
