Fake Telecom Authority Threatening SIM Disconnection

Fake Telecom Authority Threatening SIM Disconnection

Got a suspicious scam call today from +91 8291712247.
The caller claimed that my mobile number was going to be closed/disconnected by the telecom authority and tried to make the situation sound urgent.
The call lasted around 5 minutes. After the call, I checked the call history and realized it looked like a typical telecom/SIM-disconnection scam.
⚠️** Be careful if you receive similar calls**:
Don’t share Aadhaar, PAN, OTP, bank or UPI details.
Don’t install any app they ask you to install.
Don’t click on links sent by the caller.
Don’t transfer any money.
Don’t call the number back.
Block and report the number.
Sharing this so others don’t fall for the same scam. Has anyone else received a similar call recently?

Looking to Buy Gold Coin in Sarafa Market — Cash

Hi everyone, I’m looking to buy a 24K gold coin in cash from a Sarafa/Bullion market.
Can anyone suggest a trusted jeweller/shop where I can buy genuine gold at a good rate? I’m mainly looking for gold coin, not jewellery.
Also, please let me know what I should check before purchasing — BIS hallmark/HUID, purity, GST, invoice, buyback policy, and any additional charges.
Would appreciate recommendations based on your personal experience. Thanks!

Zepto IPO Scam: At What Point Do Retail Investors Say Enough | MF Investor Wake up | Lenskart , Paytm, Nykaa Startup IPO failure at High valuation

Zepto’s IPO plans raise some serious questions around valuation, massive losses, profitability, dark patterns, and whether public-market investors are being asked to pay for a growth story that hasn’t proven itself yet.

But there’s another issue that deserves much more attention:

What are mutual fund managers doing with our money?

When retail investors invest through mutual funds, we trust professional fund managers to evaluate businesses, valuation, risk and long-term profitability before deploying our money.

Yet we keep seeing new-age companies come to the public market with aggressive valuations while still struggling to generate sustainable profits.

We’ve already seen the journeys of companies like Nykaa, Paytm and other new-age IPOs play out very differently from the expectations created around their listings.

The question isn't:

“Is Zepto a good company?”

The real question is:

“Is Zepto a good investment at THIS valuation?”

Those are two completely different questions.

A company can have:
✅ Great technology
✅ Strong brand
✅ Rapid growth
✅ Millions of customers

…and still be a terrible investment if you overpay for it.

What worries me is the possibility that institutional investors and mutual funds participate in these IPOs, while ordinary investors ultimately bear the downside when the market reality catches up with the valuation.

We need to start asking fund managers uncomfortable questions:

Why are you investing our money in loss-making IPOs?
What valuation methodology are you using?
What is the expected path to profitability?
What downside risk are you assigning?
Would you buy the same business at the same valuation with your own money?

This isn't about attacking Zepto or saying every startup IPO is a scam.

It's about accountability.

Our SIP money isn't free money.

It's the hard-earned savings of millions of investors.

If fund managers are going to deploy that money into highly valued, loss-making companies, they should be prepared to explain the thesis—not just follow the IPO hype.

Retail investors need to wake up.

Don't blindly trust GMP.
Don't blindly trust subscription numbers.
Don't blindly trust famous investors.
And don't blindly trust fund managers.

Ask for the numbers.
Question the valuation.
Question the risks.

Our money. Our questions. Our voice.

What do you think—should mutual fund investors collectively demand more transparency from fund managers when they participate in loss-making IPOs?

My father is a taxi driver and I want to help him start something easier and more stable

Hi everyone,
My father works very hard as a taxi driver to support our family, but the work is becoming exhausting and stressful for him. I want to help him move toward something that is less tiring and gives a more stable income for my mother and the family.
Right now, I am looking for practical business ideas that would suit someone with driving experience and can be started with low investment. I do not want to push him into something risky. I want something realistic, steady, and manageable.
If anyone has ideas for a small business, side income, or transport-related work that can work in a city like Kanpur,Lucknow, Noida I would really appreciate your advice. Real experience and honest suggestions would mean a lot.
Thank you.

Need Business Ideas for My Father in Kanpur – Looking for Practical Suggestions

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for genuine advice from people who know Kanpur or have experience running small businesses.
My father has been doing the same work for years, but it’s no longer doing well. The business has become very slow, and the income isn’t enough anymore. I want to help him start something new that has better long-term potential.
I’m currently looking for a job myself, so I can’t invest a huge amount right now. However, I’m willing to support him with planning, technology, marketing, or operations if it helps.
I’m looking for ideas that:
Work well in Kanpur or nearby areas.
Don’t require a massive investment.
Have steady demand and can grow over time.
Are suitable for someone with traditional business experience.
I’d really appreciate suggestions based on real experience rather than generic ideas. If you’ve seen a business do well in Kanpur recently, or if your family has successfully transitioned into a new business, I’d love to hear about it.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Before joining Kalyan or Malabar Gold SIP/Savings Schemes, do the math | HIDDEN CHARGES ON Gold scheme SIP

I’m posting this because I almost signed up for a jewellery gold savings scheme without comparing the actual cost.

I noticed that the gold rate quoted under some Kalyan and Malabar Gold SIP/savings schemes can be significantly higher than the prevailing market rate (in my case, around ₹2,000–₹3,000 per 10g on some days). If you’re buying at a higher rate from day one, you’re effectively getting less gold for the same money.

On top of that:

  • You still pay GST as applicable.
  • If you buy jewellery, you’ll also pay making charges.
  • Any promotional benefit should be weighed against the higher purchase price.

For anyone investing ₹20,000–₹50,000 or more over time, I’d suggest comparing the total cost with simply buying a 24K BIS-hallmarked gold coin at regular intervals (for example, every 2–3 months) from whichever seller offers the best price that day.

I’m not saying these schemes are necessarily bad for everyone, but many people only look at the monthly installment and the advertised benefits without comparing the actual gold rate and total cost.

Please calculate the effective price you’re paying before joining any jewellery savings scheme. Don’t rely only on the marketing—compare rates, GST, making charges, redemption terms, and then decide.

Has anyone else compared Kalyan or Malabar Gold savings schemes with buying gold coins directly? I’d be interested to hear your calculations and experience.

Nobody cares about Poor living conditions in PG Phase 1 Mukai Nagar Pune | How to Complaint to Police or PMC

I stayed in a PG near Mukai Nagar Phase 1 and honestly had a very disappointing experience.

Some of the major problems I faced:
• Cockroaches were everywhere — even around the food area.
• Cleaning was almost non-existent.
Rooms and bathrooms were not maintained properly.
• Food quality was very poor. Sometimes it smelled like old or reused oil, and on a few occasions it felt undercooked.
• Bathrooms and common areas were in bad condition.
• Getting responses from the owner/ caretaker was difficult whenever I raised
concerns.

My biggest mistake
I paid money in advance. Due to an emergency I had to leave early, and I was unable to recover the remaining amount despite multiple follow-ups.
My advice to anyone looking for a PG
• Never pay a large amount in advance.
• Inspect the room and bathroom personally.
• Check for insects/cockroaches before booking.
• Ask existing tenants about cleaning frequency.
• If possible, choose a PG without a compulsory food plan and eat outside or arrange your own meals.
• Get refund terms in writing.

I'm sharing this so that others don't make the same mistake I did. Please do proper verification before finalizing any PG in this area. A few minutes of inspection can save a lot of money, stress, and health issues later.
Stay safe and choose carefully.

Why Are We Building More Apartments When Cities Already Depend on Water Tankers?

People are buying ₹1.5–2 crore flats in cities like Pune and Indore, but has anyone stopped to ask one basic question:
Where will the water come from?
Every single day I see water tankers supplying residential societies. Many buildings depend on private tankers because municipal water isn’t enough. At the same time, governments keep approving new townships, and builders keep launching thousands of new apartments.
If today’s residents already struggle for water, what happens when these new projects are fully occupied in the next 5–10 years?
More people.
More buildings.
Same (or even lower) groundwater levels.
More dependence on expensive tankers.
People talk about ROI, appreciation, and luxury amenities, but what is the value of a ₹2 crore apartment if the most basic necessity—water—is uncertain?
This isn’t about criticizing any one city or builder. It’s about asking whether urban planning is keeping pace with construction. Are water resources, reservoirs, recycling systems, and groundwater recharge being expanded before approving more housing projects?
Before investing in real estate, maybe buyers should ask:
What’s the long-term water source?
How many days a year does the society depend on tankers?
Is the groundwater level declining?
Is the city actually prepared for the next decade?
Real estate isn’t just about location anymore. It’s about water security.
Are people ignoring one of the biggest risks while chasing property appreciation?
Would love to hear from residents of Pune, Indore, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, or any other rapidly growing city. Are you seeing the same tanker dependency?

Paytm bus booking Scam Beware | Paytm Assured Lite Fee Scam

I recently booked a bus ticket through Paytm and noticed something that feels quite misleading.
Fare Breakdown:
Base Fare: ₹1,188
Paytm Discount: -₹150
Paytm Assured Lite Fee (incl. GST): ₹83
Operator GST: ₹59
Total Paid: ₹1,180
At first glance, Paytm advertises a ₹150 discount, but then adds a “Paytm Assured Lite Fee” of ₹83, which significantly reduces the actual benefit of the discount.
What makes this frustrating:
The fee isn’t the bus operator’s charge.
It’s an additional platform fee by Paytm.
Many users may focus on the discount and not notice the extra fee until payment.
The final savings are much lower than what is initially advertised.
I’m not saying this is illegal, but it definitely feels like a dark pattern where a discount is highlighted while additional charges are quietly added during checkout.
Has anyone else noticed this “Paytm Assured Lite Fee” on bus/train/flight bookings?

First time in Pune: Arriving at Hadapsar at 3 AM, how to reach Wakad/Hinjewadi cheaply

Hi Pune folks,

I’ll be reaching Pune early morning around 3 AM via train at Hadapsar station, and I need some help figuring out the cheapest and safest way to reach Wakad/Hinjewadi Road area at that time.

Since it’ll be very early in the morning, I’m not sure what transport options are available — local bus, shared cab, auto, Ola/Uber, metro, etc. What would be the most affordable option for someone new to the city?

Also, if anyone knows any budget-friendly places to stay for 1–2 weeks around Wakad, Hinjewadi, or nearby areas (PG, hostel, builder flat, budget hotel, shared stay, etc.), recommendations would be really helpful. Looking for something decent and affordable.

Any tips for a first-time visitor arriving at 3 AM are welcome too 😅

Thanks in advance!

Is the Data Engineering market slow or am I missing something?

I wanted to ask people working in Data Engineering — how is the market right now?
I have been actively checking job portals like Naukri, Indeed, LinkedIn, and others, but honestly, I’m hardly seeing good openings for Data Engineers, especially for mid-level roles. Either there are very few vacancies, or the same jobs keep getting reposted.
Is the market actually slow right now, or am I searching in the wrong way?
I have experience in Azure Data Engineering, Databricks, PySpark, SQL, ETL pipelines, etc., but still not seeing enough relevant opportunities to apply for. It feels very different compared to before.
For people who recently switched jobs or are interviewing:
Are companies hiring less?
Which platforms are working best for you?
Are referrals becoming more important now?
Is the demand shifting more toward AI/Data + Data Engineering combined roles?
Would really like to hear honest feedback from people in the industry because right now it feels like vacancies are very limited or hidden somehow.
What has your experience been in 2026?

Good Data Engineering Courses | Exposing Fake Course Sellers | Stop Wasting Money

This post might offend some “educators,” but it needs to be said.
Why are people spending ₹20,000–₹1,00,000+ on Data Engineering courses when so much quality content is already available at a fraction of the price?
Many course sellers are doing the same thing:
Posting fake or exaggerated testimonials

Selling fear (“you won’t get a job without this course”)

Repackaging free content from YouTube/Udemy into expensive mentorship programs

Selling “secret PDFs”, “interview cheat sheets”, and “guaranteed placement roadmaps” as if there’s some hidden formula

Reality check: there is no magical PDF or shortcut.
For Data Engineering, if you genuinely study and practice, 3–4 solid affordable courses (₹500–₹1000 total during sales) + hands-on projects + interview prep can get you to a strong level.
A practical roadmap can be built using:
SQL

Python / PySpark

ETL concepts

Cloud basics (Azure/AWS/GCP)

Data Warehousing & Modeling

Spark / Databricks / orchestration tools

Projects + interview preparation

Most of this is already available through YouTube, affordable courses, documentation, and practice.
Also, please be cautious of people selling “ultimate DE notes” or “secret cheat sheets” for huge amounts. There’s no hidden knowledge locked inside a PDF.
I’m curious to hear from others:
Have you come across fake educators, misleading testimonials, overpriced courses, or scammy marketing in tech/Data Engineering? Drop names (with proof/context) or share your experience so others don’t waste money.
Let’s help beginners make informed decisions instead of falling for hype.

Hey everyone,

I’m planning a weekend trip to Ujjain and looking for people who might be interested in joining. Thought it’d be more fun to explore with fellow travelers instead of going solo.

Planning a chill trip with a mix of:

•	Visiting Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga and nearby places

•	Trying local food

•	Exploring the city and ghats

•	Relaxed weekend vibe

Also open to itinerary suggestions from people who’ve visited recently — hidden gems, food spots, best timings, things to avoid, etc.

If anyone’s interested, comment or DM ✌️
