Learn math, for engineering

Here it is, i use a lot of books when it comes to engineering for my own projects ( i use a lot of the physics concepts with good results ) i know usually when my results are coreect because i know what to expect. I use excel and a bit of matlab.

But i know i'm not fully efficient because sometimes i domt understand the relationships in the equatoons and all.

What is a good and fun way to up my math level, i have no idea where to start.

Recentely i've delved into cam profile design, i have a bit of a hard time with the complex geometry, and polynomials etc that looks scary 🤣

PVA application ?

Any tips for applying PVA ?

I wax my mould first, and then buff it and add PVA on top usually, is it overkill ? ( epoxy CF / on a PU painted mould )

If i try with a brush, it will not wet the surface, and clump together at some random places.

I tried with a rag or sponge, it does the same.

So in the end i do it with a spray gun, in a very fine mist it works, but surface finish isnt very nice its grainy.

What can i do ?

Perhaps i can do a fine mist, let it dry then spray it thick and wet on top of the 1st fine mist, maybe it will make a nice glossy layer this way ???

Materials for welding helmet ?

Lets say i wanted to make a CF welding helmet, what would be the best resin to use so it resist the UV, and also takes the heat, for ppl that weld close ( like me ) ?

Also how would i achieve the opacity required, i know it taked a few layers with different orientation to achieve full opacity with CF, perhaps fiberglass roving as the inner most layer, with a tinted resin or maybe a few coats of paint ?

(I want to keep the CF appearance on the outside )

Big STL import ?

How can i deal with importing a big STL file into CATIA , or convert it to surface prior to import ?

It is a car body scan , and a model off a Forza game, so quite big and i seem to be ram or graphics card limited as it crashes on SW, maybe its not as heavy for CATiA ?? .

Not charging

Phone charging slow ( 9hrs ) and not wanting to take fast charge since yesterday.

Is the connector broken or something is up with the software ?

Also the charger displays error when i plug it upside down if that makes any sense.

Hello, anyone vould help me on diagnosys ?

My friends TIG blew up while i was welding, with the loudest bang ever like shooting a 12 gauge...

It tripped the mains, it buzzes and pops and no lights on the panel if i plug it in.

I took it apart heres the damage i could find.

A 8 pin chip blown in pieces. A few surface resistor or caps burnt. This chip is located next to a 24vdc converter if that helps

The 3 burnt prongs are a unused connector.

It is a chinese unit.

I would often get zapped by the HF start, more often than i should and i could feel it tingling my arm when welding in AC mode ( HF is continuous i guess ) some times the AC arc would skip a beat and change tone for a microsecond.

The welder was coated with metallic dust inside.

I couldnt see visible damage on the big caps, or the big thyristors/transistors

Anyone could help me diagnose it ? I dont know much more than very basics electronic stuff and a bit of how the welder transforms AC 220 to DC and back to a squarish AC wave with PW modulation and freq as well...

Thanks
