Possibly uncommon opinion? I've never gone back to ACNH, but I've gone back to ACNL many, many times.

I've been playing New Leaf on and off for the last 12-ish years. I love it, especially the luck system and how you can basically rig the luck with Feng Shui pretty easily. I mean, there's sooo much I love about the game, but I can't find many things I love about New Horizons. I haven't touched the game in years.

I pre-ordered NH, and played quite a bit of it. It's beautiful, and I love the character customization. But... that's it? I actually found myself playing the HHA dlc more than the actual game itself tbh.

The crafting feels like a chore, and I'm not creative enough to make my island pretty or follow an aesthetic. I became resentful and jealous tbh, seeing everyone else's beautiful islands and frustrated that I couldn't do it myself (me issue, not a game issue I guess lol). I love just going to town to the big upgraded store and finding rare furniture and buying everything I need, not to mention the tools didn't BREAK!!!! Reese's Recycle store was also super cute!! Especially since you can get a rare set of furniture only from that store too!

I've never been a fan of sandbox games, and NH is that. Too much freedom, for me at least. But that's something a lot of people love about the game, and I respect that for sure. I just wish it didn't feel so... mandatory ? to decorate your island so much. I don't want to play God, and the game forces you to do that, imo. I loved moving into a place already lived in and welcoming, not so barren and deserted - blank slate - like NH. When I got off the train in my NL town I felt like I'm coming into a village, I'm a new comer - not a founder. I would've liked Isabelle to be the Mayor and I give her ideas and such, but it's okay and Tortimers Island made up for it haha

I was unimpressed with the personalities of the villagers. I couldn't get so attached like I have in previous games. They actually felt like my friends because they felt more real, less like they have to be nice to you all the time. I've gotten teared up when people moved away in the past, and seeing them come back to the "city" in NL always warmed my heart. I feel like that's a reason why people are so willing to restart their island. The villages of past games hold too much sentiment for me to just, erase it all.

Anyways, not trying to crap on other players or their opinions, simply just sharing mine and wanting to see if anyone else can relate? Anyone else hoping for less of a sandbox type game and more of a life sim for the next game? I'm old (27) so nostalgia probably has an impact on my opinions as well lol

TLDR - the title says it all pretty much, just went on about some things I don't like about NH that NL did better in my opinion 🤷🏼‍♀️

Mirror Mi doll comes with ear holes but no earrings?

Why holes but no earrings? Maybe they plan on releasing more outfits/accessories in the future? What do you think?

I would LOVE if Starset did a rendition of Downplay's Tomorrow

This song is SO good and underrated af imo, and I'd love to hear a Starset version of it!! They've done it with other Downplay songs so it'd be so sick to see this one done too!

What songs do you think Starset should make a version of by Downplay?

[CHAT] Has anyone tried making their own threaded DMC color chart?

The one on Amazon is nearly $100, so I'm wondering how difficult/expensive it would be to create your own? I was thinking I could use the thread I already have and add to it as I buy new thread for new projects. Would that be dumb? Too difficult? Have y'all done it and if so, how?

Thanks! 😅

Machine not pulling fabric through - Shark 612C

I got this from the thrift store today, first ever machine, and it's not pulling the fabric through. I see it's because the grippy things are too low and loose. Is there any way to fix this? Should I just get a better machine? Lol
