Solo RPG as Fanfic Help

A friend of mine showed me the Her Odyssey Solo RPG and I have been starting to use it as side material for a character for a fanfic I am writing. My plan is to type on Google Docs a first person pov detailing everything that happens for each card drawn and then get a real journal to actually summarize everything to make it easier to visualize

Does anyone think that helps? Has anyone tried this before?

Oahu vs Honolulu

My birthday is coming up and Michaels has the Oahu 128 and the Honolulu 120. I need your advice on which one feels better. I like the brush tips but the Oahu gives me more colors. I also tend on buying an additional 48 midtones so would I skip the 128 and go for 120 instead?

I like coloring adult books but I would like to be able to do so in the company of others. Are there people or groups for just that in the city?

International Friendship Day

I just found out that yesterday was International Friendship Day, so to celebrate, why don't we post some excerpts of friends doing friend things? Hanging out, talking on the phone, going out for ice cream. Friendships are still as important as romance.

Why not now, Frank?

A thing that bugged me in Book 3 is Frank. Frank is the only denizen whom the Cat shows any affection towards according to Owen Dennis. But here's the thing.

When Simon appeals to the Cat in Book 3, Episode 7 there is no Frank. Frank doesn't appear during the scene when he could've been the voice of reason so The Cat didn't give Simon the nanites, make her fess up, or at least try to make amends. He most likely heard Simon say "SHE ABANDONED ME!" in the kitchen, he definitely had to have heard Simon throwing furniture around.

So...why did Frank refuse to help?

The Monroe Parents takeaway

Something that's always been on the forefront on my mind is why the Monroe parents were so cold. We only get Grace's memories of their coldness associated to her tape, but never moments outside it.

If we take the timeline into consideration, this is 2011/12 at the earliest. Barack Obama is President, and they are rich black people. Grace Monroe wanted to be noticed, and so the Train picks her up. What are her parents doing at the time? Trying to tell the mallcop to look the other way. Not because of how they refuse to admit that they're bad parenting is what caused Grace to shoplift, but because of the racial implications.

All it takes is one rumor, one person, and Grace Monroe's image is destroyed. No matter what Grace said doesn't matter. Society will point the fingers on her because of the color of her skin, her financial status, her gender.

She'll be noticed. She'll be known as "that rich black girl who was caught shoplifting". And if racial bias has taught me anything, police will put the handcuffs on a black boy just because, traumatizing him for life. Were the parents trying to prevent Grace from getting a bad rep? Were they realizing how bad this was going to be for their reputations if they become parents of a thief? How would this affect her social life?

Grace was always pushed to be the best, because a black girl like her will have numerous double standards and glass ceilings in her way. And who's to say she already had that reputation because of all of the babysitters she shooed away (in Origami Car you can clearly see the mom constantly bringing up numerous names of the "hired help" meant to monitor Grace. The only reason that the hired help would be changing most likely is due to Grace's troublemaking attention whore attitude. Also funny in how we don't get any appearance of what the "hired help" should look like...)

After all, what was Grace's wish? "To be noticed". The Train picked her up so she would avoid being "noticed" as the little black rich girl thief. Or perhaps it was all a ploy by the Train so that the parents would finally "notice" that their parenting nearly tanked their reputations and then she'd become "noticed" when police reported her missing (if they would ever go far, given this is a black girl not a white woman gone missing)?

Now this doesn't excuse the parents for not giving Grace more attention, but whether or not Owen Dennis had social commentary in regards to Miss "I know everything about the Train", this strikes me as an interesting storyline that should've been utilized better if we saw a scene of the parents realizing how screwed they are. Grace had to be the flawless black girl, little miss perfect. Because if not, then her life is ruined.

After all, the president almost a decade after Grace got on the Train wasn't a black man...and she'll certainly have a bigger reputation than a little rich black girl mall thief.

She just wanted to be noticed indeed.

Edit: Before you ask, yes I'm the girl who wrote Blossoming Trail.

Learned my orientation through Yoko

I had known I was asexual for some time but didn't know what my romantic side was. Alloromantic or aromantic at best because I saw beauty in male and female figures.

It wasn't until I saw a clip of Beatles: Get Back and saw Yoko in black and a beatnik hat did I have to literally pause and tell myself two things: 1) Why was I supposed to hate her and 2) I wanted her outfit.

Mulling it over, I did research and finally realized what it was. I was asexual but also bi-aesthetic. I liked seeing the beauty of men AND women. Not just the body but the attitude and clothing style. It made me realize that just because I don't want a romance it doesn't mean I can't show love for a person, like admiring a sunset in the beach or a sunrise in the morning

So I want to know more about her, like get my feet wet in her albums and what not if it's okay. Just something to help me understand more about my romantic orientations.

Crossover fanfic

I am currently writing a fanfic where the Beatles before they became famous have to go through the events of the manga. It's called "Depths of the Vortex" and hosted on ao3. If anyone wishes to read it, I can drop a link.

Beatles Uzumaki Love

It really warms my heart that this quirky crossover fanfic I made is getting comments like this!

To Diverge or Stay on the Path

As I'm currently working on the second part of my Beatles x Uzumaki fic, "Depths of the Vortex", it made me come to an important quesiton.

Up until this point, the story has basically followed the manga's plot of small episodes regarding spirals. But as soon as I finish volume 2, I am at a crossroads.

Volume 3 of Uzumaki is when things get worse and worse for the protagonists. But I also feel like just going through the same thing feels...unoriginal. I simply had Beatles and Beatles-associated characters take place of the people who suffer in Uzumaki but when I finally reach the third volume, I feel like I should diverge and go a different path. Instead of Kyrie and Suichi trying to escape, have the Beatles give up into the Spiral and go from there.

I need your honest opinion on this: stay the course or try something new?

Got tropes?

Does anyone like the idea of someone putting your fanfic on tvtropes?

I'm a frequent poster on it and it would always be cool if someone joins in on the troping since there are certain pages I'm not allowed to edit on.
