Using this role as a stepping stone to other educational roles that are not teaching

I'm interviewing for a role as a classroom/teaching assistant later this week. And while I do have a bachelors degree, it is in a compeletely unrelated field to teaching. I also have no intention/desire to eventually become a teacher. I want to use the job as a stepping stone to get familiar with a school/educational environment and then eventually move into a school office/administrative/secretarial postition, which I have more experience in in fields outside of education

My question is: should I discuss this intended career path with the principal interviewing me? I fully intend to give the teaching assistant role my all and not just show up to collect a paycheck, and stay in in that role for as long as I need/school needs. But I also want to let them know in case they need help in the offices and could ask me. And that way they won't expect me to try to get teaching credentials later down the line.

Is this a weird move in the field of education? Is the next step/expectation that people usually become teachers after this role?

If I shouldn't tell the principal, what can I do while actually on the job to move towards school admin jobs?

Is it inappropriate to call regarding a job interview if the principal already reached out via email?

I applied to a classroom assistant role and the principal contacted me Thursday regarding an interview this week. I contacted him the same day told him the days and times that worked for me and he confirmed the time, but not the date. I told him tomorrow or Wednesday would work for me and reached out via email again to confirm which day would work but havent heard back.

Would it be inappropriate to call the school and ask? I just feel like with email, the principal won't see it in time and I could lose out on the interview but I also feel like calling would overstep and come across as desperate since I already emailed him

AAA remote Travel Sales Associate

Can anyone who has worked in this position for AAA in the past or currently confitm if they will hire someone without GDS knowledge? Do they train in it? This seems like their entry level position and it states either prior travel sale or retail sales experience is required but hen under knowledge and skills it says "proficiency in GDS systems". If i only have the retail sales experience but nothing with travel, therefore no knowledge of GDS, how likely am I to get an interview?

So the new feature of Villagers being able to get stuff for you

Why does everything else say 2-5 yet a level 10 villager with Timebending can only get 1 of each item??? Timebending is so time consuming as it is (which is why I tend to avoid it) yet that only yields the least amount of stuff villagers can find? That's not fair

How does one get a job in this field? It feels impossible

I've been seeking a new job for about a year now and have applied to several medical receptionist roles, all of which have turned me down without so much as a screening call. I have no experience in the medical field, as my background is mostly production/warehouse roles.

I do, however have some administrative experience from prior roles, 4 years of customer service from my first job, as well as experience scheduling appointments for people, as I was assigned to schedule covid vaccine appointments during the pandemic.

I feel like from my admin, customer service, and vaccine scheduling work I'd have transferable skills that could easily help me do this job, yet it seems like it's impossible to break in to this field. What am I doing wrong? Is there some secret I'm not aware of?

Fixes for "We ran into an error and need to restart"?

I'm not super tech savvy so I don't know why my desktop is suddenly doing this every session. I'll be in the middle of something and the screen will suddenly go black and say "Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart". It's so frustrating because I then need to login again and reopen all my windows/tabs/programs/etc. I was using when it restarts. I feel like it may have started happening after a Windows update was installed but I can't be 100% sure.

Haven't taken any steps to try to fix it because I'm not sure where to go in the system.

What can I do to fix/stop this?

I'm running Windows 11 Home on an HP desktop.

OS build 26200.875.

Processor 12th Gen Intel Core

Ram 16 GB

Graphics Card: intel UHD 770 (128 mb)

System type 64 bit.

Catholic school jobs

Can someone tell me if I'm doing this right?

I applied for a non-teaching position at a Catholic grade school in my neighborhood. I found the job listing on the career portal/website for my city's Archdiocese; it's also listed on LinkedIn.

On the job listing itself it says that interested/qualified candidates should email their resume and cover letter to the principal at the provided email, which I did. However, I also notice there is a downloadable job application on the website attached to the listing, but the language and fields used in the job application is specifically for teaching, which this position is not.

My question is, do I still need to fill out that job application and send it to the Office of Catholic Education despite it not being relevant to the open position and also despite me already emailing the principal with my info? Alternatively, should I also apply to the job via the LinkedIn post? I really want this job and am just worried that I'm missing a step and just sending my info to the principal isn't enough and that I'm not considered fully applied to the job despite the listing asking to send the info. Like would sending the application to the OCE act as sending it to HR to get my name on their radar, or did I do everything I needed to?

Dreamlight Valley hitting a little too close to home

This game is starting to hit a little too close to home.

In my real life, I'm currently going through a complete relationship breakdown with a cousin I used to be close to (but not my favorite by any stretch) to the point where I'm planning to never speak to them again. I use this game to escape the difficulties of my life and this one moment broke that escape.

Workday job listing only open for about a week? Internal hire or still okay to apply?

Never seen that before. The job was posted on July 7th, and it says it ends on the 11th.

I've heard such a small window to apply like that means they most likely are going with an internal hire. Of course I read that after applying to the job.

Can anyone who works in recruiting/HR confirm this? Did I just waste my time applying to this job?

They had very basic qualifications listed and no salary which made me wonder if this is what it was.

The thing that frustrates me the most about this job market

Is that I don't even get screening calls from a majority of companies before getting a rejection. I can understand if after having the call, they wouldn't want to move forward with interviews, but 99% of them don't even bother to do an initial screening call. I don't think think its right to do this to applicants, especially several weeks after applying.

I'd be more accepting if it was a few days after. But a few weeks? At that point it should be required to at least give the remaining applicants a screening call.

Out of the hundreds of appilcations I've submitted, I've gotten a total of TWO screener calls, one that later said they are moving on with another candidate and another saying they were just pausing hiring entirely

I'm starting to lose hope and am afraid I'll be stuck in my current toxic job forever. I'm exhasusted by this job search. Somebody just hire me!!!

ISO Homeland Defender position- remote or not & qualifications: can someone explain?

I'm looking at the position for ISO Homeland Defender and was confused on some points and was wondering if anybody could answer some questions to help me understand it better.

It says its fully remote, no travel required yet it also mentions you would have to conduct in-person interviews and some areas of the country require you to drive, so which is it? Especially for those who live in the Philadelphia area? I'd love if it was fully remote, but seeing as I dont have my drivers license (I do have a state ID), I feel like getting to people's houses to conduct interviews would be a problem

Aslo experience and qualifications I feel are vague or confusing, as they have a few different tiers. I have a bachelors degree in an art field and prior warehouse and administrative/claim/call center experience. Would I need prior government experiemce in order to qualify?

Thanks for any input/advice!

Are these jobs that popular or all scams?

I keep seeings numerous remote jobs pop up in the construction/landscaping/roofing etc industry, either in Billing/Scheduling positions or Payroll and Benefits. Many listing minimal experience required or none at all and they would train you. All different companies each time, all being legitimate physical companies (save for one or two) when I research them.

Without fail, they all seem to get the same "we couldn't find this page" error a day or two after I save them. I've even just applied today to a few as I am looking for a career change. Then about a half hour later those few I applied too all got the same error as well. I can see them in my applied list (or saved if I havent applied) but actually trying to get into the job description brings up the error

Are these jobs really getting that many applicants that they end the listing that fast, or are all of these scam jobs just collecting data?

The Golden Buzzer has lost all meaning

It's become extremely over-used now to where they press it multiple times an episode, and I guess they got rid of the one-per-judge-per season limit cause now they rack up like five each every episode

It used to be a special thing, and has now lost all meaning.

At this point they either need to get rid of it, or regulate it back to the original rules.

Help with a job listing

I was browsing the app this morning and saved a few jobs I plan to apply to later in the day. I was lookingvthrough my saved jobs and went to click on one to read the description again and it keeps coming up with the "something happened on our end" error.

Does this mean the job listing was taken down? I can still see it in my saved jobs and the button to apply is still there, it just wont let me read the job description

Orlando Bloom...lines?

Anybodys who has gone to recent Fan Expos this year, how long have Orlando Bloom's lines been?

I want to bring my Will Turner Funko with me to Philly and see if I could fit him in to get it signed, but I have other autographs and photo ops I have tickets for. I've hear his lines are insane and people wait hours. Yet my sister went to NYCC last year and she said his line there wasn't very long at all.

Do you think because of the LOTR anniversary this year he will be a long wait?
