Toyota 4runner transmission makes squeaking noise when rolling slowly, or in neutral, or when I let the clutch out. Squeak goes away when I rev the engine.

I change the transfer and transmission fluid every 30k miles, I grease the driveshafts every 8k miles or less, I don't ride the clutch. This problem started long into my ownership about a year ago, and it's only gotten worse.

I'm afraid it's the pilot bearing, but the symptom isn't 1 to 1, and revving it makes it go away, and I've done nothing to deserve this sort of issue. It's a 4wd with the W59 transmission, and it has 230k miles.

The sound is more noticeable in person, especially against a wall. It sounds to be coming from under the car. Year: 1998.

Why doesn't working on your car require a license if you can apply the same logic used to require a license with home electrical work?

I've seen the threads asking if it's illegal to DIY electrical work, and everyone said a license was required and was vehemently for it being that way since faulty work can cause deadly accidents and void your insurance.

Yet cars are insured and you can do DIY maintenance on these safety critical systems without permission or immediate inspection.

Too rebuilt to be attractive to high dollar buyers, too expensive to not immediately get snatched up by idiotic ricers, just right for me

Through methods I wont explain, I deduced that it was salvaged because it has low value rather than receiving extensive damage.

Drives straight as an arrow, every panel is even, pristine interior, like I’d expect from a one owner car until 2024.

If it were a Toyota truck I’d be able to get the parts to fix it from Toyota

Toyota part support for trucks of the same era is much much better. On the bright side it doesn’t need valve shims, and the belt from 07 looks good enough to drive on until next month when I replace it.

We’ll see if that dealer actually has the kits that inventory says they have.

Is it normal to have such a wide operating temperature in a 97’ tercel?

I’ve seen the gauge read within that range. Highway driving in 65 F (around 17C) it will be at the low end, waiting at a light on a hot day it will be at the upper end, and it will drop after a few minutes of moving.

My 4runner temperature gauge hardly moves after the needle reaches 1/4 up, I’d expect similar behavior. Owners manual says as long as it’s not at red it’s good.

Radiator was replaced with a Denso one aro 3 years ago, and the electric fan is working.

How can Intel already have a chipset to target the MacBook Neo within 3 months of its release if it takes 1-4 years to design the CPU alone?

I saw the LTT video on the new crop of MacBook Neo competitors. It seems insanely quick for there to already be new competitors if the CPU alone takes 1-4 years to develop.

The earliest mention of Wildcat lake is from 6 months ago, while it had the same market segment in mind, its estimated release date was 1st half of 2027 at the earliest. Love the Neo and what it's doing to affordable laptops.

Is the teal capacitor .047 MFD or 0.47 MFD? These capacitors came off the same pcb

The teal capacitor is made by Elna. No service manual

The sundew plant I ordered arrived a day early and I didn't want to leave it in its plastic wrap, I thought I had the correct water but it's actually Costco purified mineral water which isn't what I want.

Anyway, I thought it better to water it with that and I'll dilute it with distilled water once I get it. I left it outside where it's supposed to rain a bit. I know it's not ideal, but it wont kill it immediately will it?

I had a sundew 15 years ago and I remember it being much more resilient than anything other carnivorous plant.

I need to replace capacitors in a discman (portable cd player). They used capacitors rated as high as 50V in it. Sometimes they’d use multiple voltages of the same capacitance as if 25V wasn’t enough.

But it is difficult to find capacitors that meet the space constraint, can I use anything above 5V since the batteries themselves dont output far above 3V?

I also have no service manual to assess what is necessary

The color is like an Iphone 5 space gray but with a tinge of blue. You can see what I mean, look at the bottom corner in the 1st photo (closer to grey) compared to the lid. It averages out to what you see on Apple's website.

Normally I'd say that's good, but since this is a secondary laptop going a little crazy like Pacific blue would have been welcome too. However it's not an immature (for lack of better word) colour.

It's the first Mac I've purchased.
