Recommendations

I’ve been digging some Lost Dog Street Band, and Trampled by Turtles. Im not even sure what I’ve been listening to is folk punk or bluegrass. But I’m done for some suggestions on what to check out next. Rail Yard Ghost are ok, the Bridge City Sinners I really like. Holy Locust I could listen to forever. And I do enjoy some songs from BlackBird Raum. Hope what I have posted will help with recommendations

Fit?

I have a pair of 38 Rogue Territory standard issue that are too big. I’ve been wearing them though as I still enjoy the way they feel. Went with Tellason Ankara in a 38. Size seemed to be smaller compared to size chart of RT. I’m nervous about going down to a size 36 as I don’t like my waist being tight. Help me decide if I should send them back for a smaller size.

EDIT:
Yes I know the inseam is way long. I didn’t have them do the inseam as I wanted to get the fit correct first. The butt seems to give a little diaper bottom. I’m not sure if that will change with a soak or not. Please don’t look at the inseam. It’s obvious they are two long. More concerned with the top box of the jeans

How many pairs??

I am piecing together my essential heritage collection. I plan on going through my closet and getting rid of old shirts, sweaters, and jeans I don’t wear. I plan on replacing these and revamping my style.

I currently have a chambray shirt, a blue pocket T, one rag and bone white T that is perfect for summer, just not the best for layering as the fit is baggy. One pair of blue raw denim jeans, a raw denim shop jacket. I am looking at snagging another pair of jeans but wondering if another pair is too much? How many pairs do you all have and how often do you rotate them?

Need help with a hat ID

Firstly, I don’t think I look good in a traditional hat. I’d like to try some other hats out. Hoping someone could maybe help I’d a hat I found a picture of. I think it might be a gunslinger, but I’m totally unsure.

EDIT: seems like the general consensus is that it’s a type of Fedora. I’ve tried fedoras in the past. I just don’t think I have a face for anything other than a baseball hat. Thanks. Have seen some amazing hats in this group, going to join just to enjoy all the cool hats. Thanks again.

Looking for used purchasing advise

I am currently selling an Audi and possibly a VW GTI. I have a co-worker who is selling a 2008 Colorado inline 4 with 249k miles on it. It needs a valve cover gasket and a TPMS light is on. I can keep the GTI I have and use it as a daily driver, I also have a 1991 Chevy van that I use on the weekends to haul band equipment and for the wife and I to use for camping. He wants 1k for the Colorado. I know nothing about the engines on these, is it worth snagging as a daily driver?

Colter Wall and other artist

I'm just now really getting into listening to country. Have been a fan of alt country stuff like Songs:ohia. Recently found Colter and really enjoy how bluesy he gets. At least I hope that's how you would describe it. I love how his records sound like they were written from a time long ago. And the way he plays is incredible. Looking for other artist that play similar guitar style. I know Sturgill Simpson and he is one of my favs right now, but the way Colter plays just blows my mind. Thank you in advance for the responses.

2012 5k a good deal?

I am selling my Audi and a golf. I've been looking at a used outback. I found one on FB marketplace for 5k. 2012 with 128k miles. Says its a 2.5i. I know nothing about outbacks. I want a 4x4 outback as a daily driver and to go camping with. Give me some advise on what to look for and what to stay away from. I've found a few local that have 230k-280k miles, I skipped them for miles alone. The inside and outside of them were in wonderful condition, like I said I know nothing about outbacks and how long they will stay on the road.

EDIT: After checking photos I noticed its AWD and is a PZEV. The ad doesn't have a description other then the generic AI description of an outback.

Fender twin reverb on a budget

I’m starting to play more Americana/alt country with an electric guitar. I’d love a twin reverb but they are way out of my price range. I like in the Midwest if the US. Budget 300-400 usd. I’d like something I can play at home and out to gigs. So far it’s just me, no backing band. A 20-30 watt amp would probably be ideal. Suggest away.

Singers/electric guitar

I’ve listened to plenty of solo artist that use an acoustic while singing. Are there any artist that use an electric guitar instead? Just an electric guitar and vocals with no backing band?

iPhone 12 pro user here

I've been debating on if its time to upgrade my phone. Right now my battery life says it charges up to 80%. I still find myself having to charge during the day. I use my phone a lot with the band I'm in. Having to take care of bookings and our socials. I don't take photo's or videos as often as I should. But that's mainly due to storage space on my phone. I had looked at a refurbished 16pro, but wondering if I should wait until sept for the 18pro. I know its way more expensive then the refurbished, but I can also do a monthly payment on the phone through T-Mobile. Are there any other suggestions I should look into?

Crust without Bass guitar?

Are there any crust bands that don't have a bass guitar? In a band currently where the bass player has a hard time playing with us. Is it possible to do a crust band with two guitars and drums?

Help with solo'ing...

I play for a punk band and wrote a song. There is a four bar section that I would like to try and do a quick "solo". I'm just having a hard time wrapping my head around doing so. We play in C standard and the rhythm part is following the Phrygian scale. I have added a photo of the scale. The rhythm part is playing frets 1 -3, then 4,6, and back to three before starting all over again. I'm just unsure how to go about doing a quick solo part for it.

I purchased a dunlop lock strap, I was having a hard time with using the screws it came with and the bit felt piece. I decided to use the felt piece I had originally, now it won't budge and the strap lock is loose. I have tried a bigger screw driver head to try and hold on to the screw hole but no luck. Any suggestions?

I don’t know if this is crust or not. But I’m really loving this record. Any recommendations for stuff similar?

A bandmate/friend and I are using older tube amp heads. His just had some problems, which happens with a 35 yo head. I am using a DC-5 head, are there any newer heads to check out? I do enjoy tube amps, and love the way the DC-5 sounds. Also starting to think maybe an upgrade to something a little more reliable might be a good option. Suggestions?
