Double vision is annoying
Hello lovely community, I had my second appointment in an eye clinic yesterday. They tried to measure my strabism and it was kinda difficult for them because it seems to change a little in different situations or I was not able to answer correctly I really don't know. In the end we almost had it but not perfect. They put a Prism glass in front of my glasses on the one eye.
And honestly that was kinda weird, I usually see double but I'm used to the way it is. It only gets annoying when I'm tired, usually I can just ignore it. But looking almost at the same point gave me serious double vision that I wasn't able to ignore. They let me walk around with this for like 20 minutes to get used to it.
I thought I would walk into walls when they were on my left side and couldn't see distances there. Very weird. I mean a prism isn't a simulation but it made me nervous. I really wanna get rid of the strabism. But the doctor wasn't sure if my brain can ever get normal vision. I think I could get used to it but still...
At least he said the optic correction would be no problem but I need to know if I can live with the way I see afterwards. The doctor asked me several times if I see double permanently, I told him yes. My eyes both work I just have strabism. So he put a lens in front of my Support eye and asked me if this would be annoying. Of course it was, the eye works for god sake lol.
Did anybody had similar experiences?
