Do I need to have spigelian hernia surgery?

Do I need to have spigelian hernia surgery? I thought I was just getting old and my lower stomach was getting kind of bumpy. And then I could see that I could make this lump grow near the top of my inner thigh on my lower stomach. From what I can see it’s a spigelian hernia. If we can assume that what I have is in fact a spigelian hernia, do you have experience with this? How old were you when you got it? What precipitated it? What kind of doctor did you ultimately go see to deal with it? Did you have surgery? If you had surgery, how long was the recovery? Did you not have surgery and are you living with it? How has living with it affected you? Not looking forward to surgery, but I want to do the right thing and I also want to do the least invasive thing if possible. For those who have or have not had surgery and have this kind of hernia, how has it affected your workouts? Any and all information and advice is greatly appreciated and welcome.

Recommendations for a auto mechanic reasonably close to UCLA?

We’re giving our daughter our 2010 Subaru Forester to have for her junior & senior years down at UCLA. The car is in fairly good condition, about 90,000 miles. I’d like to find a mechanic that is technically very competent, honest, reasonably priced, and reasonably close to the UCLA campus. Does anybody have any real experience with such a mechanic? Any recommendations?

Which country in Europe has the friendliest people?

Looking to retire to Europe next year. I’m American and on the friendly/outgoing side. I love hearing about people’s lives and adventures. And it would be nice to be able socialize outside of the local expat community.

Which would you choose to move to between Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Bilbao, or San Sebastián?

Hey there, I’m seriously thinking about relocating to Spain next year mid year. I’ve been watching these walking tours of Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Bilbao, and San Sebastian. To be honest, they all look beautiful. I’ve been to all of these places. But I don’t live there, and I have never lived there. I don’t particularly have a lot of money and I’m retired. I don’t really need a lot to be happy. But I am putting a lot of effort into learning Spanish. I love getting to know people and meeting strangers and hearing about them and their lives. I realize this isn’t for everybody, nor do I expect it for everybody in Spain. But given the kind of data points I provided, which of these cities would you recommend? I would also be very interested in somebody who started out in one of these cities and moved to a different one on the list.

What is your losing 25 lbs story?

Hi,

For a variety of reasons, I would like to go from 195 lbs to 170 lbs asap without damaging myself. I am a 66 year old man, do about 30 minutes of stationary biking 5 days a week and walk about 2-4 miles on the weekends. I am 6' 1/2". I am married and we eat a pretty healthy diet, with about 2 meals a week from takeout. I work from home roughly 70 hours a week, all online.

How did you lose 25 lbs or whatever you lost? How long did it take you? Do you have the same overall makeup as me? Any tips?

I'm interested in a 24/7 plan that includes attention to sleep as well.

Thank you!

Have you been in an accident in a Chevy Bolt?

Hi, we are thinking of getting a Chevy Bolt 2027. Nearly 100% of the time it will be used for driving around the city we live in, El Cerrito. Probably 1-2 times a month we will use it to drive over the Bay Bridge to San Francisco. I think we’re a little worried about the size of the car, especially with a lot of people buying these massive Tahoes and things like that. Has anyone had an actual accident that was more than just a fender bender? I’m not so concerned about damage to the car, but I’m extremely concerned about any damage that you or your passenger sustained. And what was the make/model of car that hit you? We are about 2-4 days away from making an offer on a 2027 Bolt at a local dealership. I really appreciate any input anybody can offer. Thank you very much.

Wearing panty liners ok?

I’m 66 and I’m incontinent because of an enlarged prostate. I wake up smelling like urine and with my underwear wet. I’ve had enough, and I’ve decided to use some kind of liner. But I don’t want to use something big and huge. So I was thinking of using female panty liners. Does anybody have experience using female panty liners for incontinence? Would you recommend it?

[Breville Bambino] What is the best grind for Peet’s beans?

Hi, I buy Peet’s coffee beans either at Costco or at Peet’s itself. It’s what I do and for the next several pounds of coffee, it’s what I’m going to do. I’ve been getting my coffee ground at Peet’s and I have them ground at either a 3 or a 3.5 setting. I believe the 3 setting is what they use for their espresso in the store. I’ve tried the 3.5 as well. I was just wondering if anybody knows if a slightly larger grind is going to give more crema or less crema. The machine I’m using is a Breville Bambino. I can’t really tell the difference in terms of taste between the two grind settings. But I wouldn’t mind at all having things be just a little bit better. So any advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Which Febreze sent to use?

We just got back from a five day trip to visit our daughter at her university. Every time we come back from a trip, the house smells pretty bad, like the smell of a cat box that hasn’t been emptied in a while. I was thinking of using Febreze to cover up the smell instead of waiting a month for it to dissipate. Just wondering if anybody has any suggestions for which Febreze scent to use? I know in the past I’ve posted a lot of outrageously weird and supposedly funny stuff. But this time I actually need some advice.

True burrito gone bad story

So this was neither a joke or a prank. I had just moved in with my wife. Heavy sex. Things are looking pretty good. We decide to watch a movie at home. We rent Bubble Boy, a comedy. We also order my favorite food, Mexican. We are watching the movie and I am chowing down on my burrito. In retrospect I was eating a little fast, I will admit it. Anyway, I’m trying to to swallow a massive mouthful of burrito when this scene comes on the movie. It’s where a bunch of guys from a biker gang end up in a little tiny food truck that sells nothing but curry. One of the bikers says “this curry is really good.” Then about a minute later you hear the same biker gang member say, “I don’t feel so good.”

I laughed so hard I started choking on the burrito in my mouth. Then I started to feel like I was going to throw up. So I pulled my tee shirt out to catch the vomit and just basically cleaned out my entire dinner from my stomach. My wife was looking at me like I suddenly had rabies or was possessed. We’ve been married 25 years. But that was a close call.

Hand Injury Recovery Advice

Hi, we’ve been watching the Tour de France for about 20 years on TV. We’ve seen plenty of crashes. And it seems that people recover eventually and go on to continue the race or to at least continue the next year. I recently went running and ended up running on the street to avoid people on the sidewalk. I fell and I landed primarily on my left side and my left hand. The street stripped away all of the skin on about 20% of my hand.

I thought I might ask bicyclist how they recovered from this kind of injury. What kind of medicine do you put on it and how often do you put that medicine on it? What kind of bandaging do you use? What is the fastest way to recover and grow back the skin? Any other advice? I didn’t break anything, but I’ve got a whole bunch of missing skin. And it’s making it super uncomfortable and painful to do just about anything with that hand. So any advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for woman 55-65 to have affair with. Happy to talk, make dinner together, touch, and much more, as long as we do all this at your home. Not leaving my wife. But I’m missing out on a significant amount of living. I’m a naturally affectionate, sensuous, and sexual straight man. And I’m a great kisser.

I’m in fairly good physical shape. I’d like to find the same in a friend with benefits.

I am a life long liberal Democrat and I’m looking for someone who is able to care about the world we live in.

I’ve traveled a lot, to many parts of the world, but not enough places.

One of my favorite things is to listen to a person’s life story, the good and bad, exciting and dull, and everything in between
