Value of these rifles?

I have a number of WW2 rifles I inherited. However money is tight right now and I am debating on selling a few of these. The 2 hunting rifles im keeping.

From top to bottom there is a all parts matching (except the bayonet) arisaka with the mum.

Swiss K31 all parts matching including matching bayonet.

Carl gustaf with all parts matching except the bayonet.

Mosin negant with non matching parts and a reproduction scope. I think its a sniper clone.

Skipping the sporter carl gustaf calvary carbine (keeping it)

All parts matching mauser of some sort. I think its a Czech VZ24

All parts matching lee enfield no 4 mk 1 with a reproduction scope.

Keeping the browning 2 speed.

Good meal on a budget.

Since times are tough I thought id post a simple and cheap recipe that can feed a person for a few days or a family. It cost less than $10 for the ingredients. One bag of 15 bean soup (washed) to a crock pot. Add 1 ham hock or shank. 1lb of collard greens. Onion and garlic powder, smoked paprika, and cajun seasoning. Add seasoningpacket that comes with the beans as well. Add 6-8 cups water and let simmer (or put on crock pot low) for 8-10 hours.

If budget allows, add diced onion, garlic, celery, and bell pepper. If budget allows serve on rice or cornbread. I halved the recipe because my little goodwill crock pot couldn't hold a full recipe.

Donations for USU fire victims.

While no lives were lost in the fire there were many cars that were destroyed that belonged to people who where out on hitch for UCC. In those vehicles were ALL the belongings of these people while they lived out of the cars while on hitch. They lost everything. Donations are needed. A gofundme is in the works. Anything helps!

1.5 months in and I can already see its not worth it.

My neighbors recently announced they are pregnant. Its only been a couple months at most and its even more apparent its just not worth it.

Background is they have always talked about having kids and know I dont want any. When they announced they were expecting they didnt seem too thrilled as they stated they weren't where they wanted to be financially and wanted to be in a bigger apartment. The wife also admitted she thought it would be 6-12 months for her bc to wear off after removal and surprise! It took like 1 week.

The wife was outside on our shared porch (its a apartments complex). I made a comment that she looked tired and she replied she will probably be tired for the next 9 months. I kinda laughed and replied nah more like 20 years. You dont get less tired once its born. I guess that thought never crossed her mind because after that she looked extremely sad. She went on to say her morning sickness is debilitating. She is having a lot of effects and smells are really getting to her. She has also gained a lot of weight. She used to go hiking with me all the time but now doesn't want to because of being pregnant.

Seeing this over the past couple months im like well yea none of this is worth it. I love my childfree life. I love being able to hike 4-6 miles a day after work, getting a good night's sleep, NOT HAVING MORNING SICKNESS.

I can sense and see the resentment already. Their lives are changing and not for the better while im still out here unburdened.

Weight loss causing periods to come back with IUD?

So background. Im 31 F been on mirena IUD since I was 19. Had my most recent one changed in June of 2023. I would never get periods or maybe light spotting 1-2 times a year. About 3 months ago I decided I needed to loose weight. Im 5'8 and was 180lbs. Ive lost 18lbs so far. In the past 2 months ive had a regular consistent period. Is it normal to start having consistent periods after dropping weight? My weight goal is 150lbs. But man having a period again every month is kinda a bummer.

I am not pregnant or could be. I havent had any sex since my husband deployed in January. Also I wasn't entirely sure what flair to use since it is a period/birth control question.

One petty reason to be child free is enternal youth

I dont know about you all but I look younger than I am and I solely think its because I dont have kids. I recently saw a picture on Facebook of my younger sister at my sister in law to be bridal shower (due to how far I live I could not make it BUT will be at the wedding). My sister who is 4 years younger than me looks so much older. She has 2 kids I and happily am childfree. Its crazy how old and worn out she looks. Meanwhile I look like im much younger. Im 31 she is 27. I look 25 she looks mid 30s. Just another petty reason I will never have kids.

The police are biased against Catholics. Or so they say...

Or so my mother told me. I got a phone call from her today. She went on a rant about how 2 school teachers from the VERY catholic school she works at didnt make the cut to be hired on for the local PD. She went on a rant about how the local PD didnt hire them due to religious beliefs and how thats illegal. She didnt like it when I told her I agree they shouldnt be cops if they are religious. I believe it would inhibit them from doing their job correctly. This is the same catholic school that she tried to make me go to but I refused after I was told by multiple teachers my ONLY purpose was to submit to a husband and bear many children. When I brought up the issue my mom stated " well they dont vett the teachers that well ". This was the nail in the coffin for me and I absolutely despise religion ESPECIALLY catholics. Im glad the local PD at least has some sort of standard. Anyhow. Moral of the story is dont hire catholics to be cops.

No boundaries. Rings doorbell 20 times

Im 31F and very childfree. I dont hate kids but dont like to have to socialize with them either. Last Sunday my neighbors and I were in our front yard letting our dogs play together (I live in a 4 plex. 2 upstairs apartmens 2 downstairs). I have a lab and the neighbors 2 german shepherds. All very friendly. We have a shared unfenced yard. The neighborhood kids asked if they can throw the ball around and we said sure. Come Monday its 7pm and Im taking a shower and hear the doorbell. No big I thought it was a Amazon package being delivered THEN THE DORBELL RINGS NON STOP 20 TIMES. I get out and check the peep hole and its the kids. I ignore it and they go away. Yesterday I get home from work and the kids immediately appear asking to play with my dog and I tell them no im busy. A hour later they come back and ring the doorbell again. I tell them no and then they saw my cat and ask to COME INSIDE AND PLAY WITH HER. These kids are all 10 and younger. I tell them no. 2 hours later they come back A THIRD TIME. At this point im super annoyed and tell them to beat it.

Later im out and my neighbors with the German shepherd come out (they also have a 15yo boy who is very cool and respectful. I pay him to watch my cat when out if town). The 15 yo was saying how annoyed he was at the kids ringing their doorbell constantly. I guess these kids were just going back and forth asking to play with the dogs. They dont know what no means. They leave their toys in our yard. I found that my floor jack that was out back (the apartments parking lot is a U shape) was messed with and extended all the way up to the point it was leaking fluid.

If they come back today ill be having words with their parents about boundaries and fucking with things that aren't theirs. I hate parents who dont watch their kids.

End rant.

Calorie tracking app?

Heyo. Im 31F 5Ft 8in. About 180lbs. Im attempting to loose about 15-20 lbs in the next 3 months to get healthier and for a upcoming family members wedding. Ive been doing a calorie deficit diet for about a week now. I was wondering if anyone had a good calorie tracking app (thats free) they would like to recommend. My diet has been a protein shake in the late morning/afternoon (150cal) then either a piece of salmon and some herb rice or a bowl of shredded boiled chicken, tomatoes, cucumber, onion, and a 50/50 mix of fat free yogurt and mayo. I just wrapped it in lettuce and call it a day.

Something like McGinley's?

Hey all. Born and raised in Anchorage then moved to Kodiak in 2018. Then to the lower 48 in 2021 for husband to go to school. We are coming back up in August for a family members wedding and to scope out places to rent/house to buy. While away hubby's and I favorite bar McGinley's closed (I am so sad still). Is there a place like it that's opened with the same vibe and good food? We haven't been to Anchorage since moving to the cursed lower 48 and not sure what is still there. We just want to have some fun while visiting.

Sometimes eating like a peasant isn't so bad

I made a loaf of sourdough yesterday. Found discounted cheese in the discount section. And a glass of water. It actually slapped after working out in the heat all day.
