Starfleet is shutting down the Wolf 359 Re-enactment Society

I know, disgusting.

We've had another letter from Starfleet command complaining about being "insensitive" and "offensive", but all we're trying to do is meet up in a public park once a month for a little historical battle re-enactment.

We're no different that the Starfleet officers who re-enact battles like the Alamo or dress in old-timey clothes. We just have better costumes and meet in a physical place instead of the holodeck.

Speak to your Federation representative today! Don't let Starfleet overreach and take away our civil freedoms to re-enact their massive disasters!

----------------------------------------------------------------

And yes, the Federation Day even is still going ahead. Meet up in Bois De Boulogne park in Paris at midday. Starfleet to the north-east of the park, and Borg to the north-west. Those dressed as ships on the south side where your pre-booked lake-boats will be waiting for you.

What am I missing? Corsair Coterie, Anrathe Character enhancement?

I feel I MUST be missing something, so please point out the obvious where I'm being stupid.

The Corsair Coterie has an enhancement for an Anrathe Character. The Archraider.

But the only Anrathe characters are Epic Heroes. Who normally can't be given enhancements?

Is this just a foible of the new edition not being corrected yet? (Even though there has NEVER been a non-epic Anrathe character?

(As per the Faction Pack)

No more free delivery on UK progs

I very sadly found out yesterday that 200ad's own shop no longer does free UK delivery for progs and the meg.

I have had this confirmed as a recent change by their customer service.

Which is a bit of a bugger, because postage for a single issue is now about two-thirds the cost of the issue extra.

Ordering had been very convenient for me, but now not so much.

Just figured someone out there possibly ordered from 200ad direct as well, and would appreciate the warning.

(And are there really basically no free gifts with a subscription any more? No t-shirt/ No pin badge?)

Some Gretchin part eleven - one of the big ones!

For today's entry in "far too many Gretchin, what are you doing" I present one of my big boys. He's the height of a Stompa and the base about lets me get away with it in casual games, but he's suitable enough to merely be a Naut too.

It is of course built around a 12"-tall Hulk figure with a lot of green stuff. But he's definitely the biggest and baddest Grot around!

Are there missing bugs in levels? DCGL (Western Station)

(Sorry, title should have said DCG, for Deep Cover Gecko, not sure where the L came from)

Hi all, lovely to find a Gex community!

I picked up the game recently having first played it long ago, figured I'd have a little nostalgia trip.

But I'm find some levels seem broken or incomplete, preventing me from acquiring all of the remotes.

The specific one that has me right now is Western Station. There simply aren't enough bug coins on the level! I need 100, but there only seem to be 94! I've been through the whole place a few times and only ever reached that number. Even the map providing on the fandom wiki only shows the locations of 94.

I assume after all this time this is a known problem, but does anyone know what I can do about it to get the last remote for this level? (Preferably without cheating?)

Thanks if you can help!

Rebuilding an old character

I decided to strip down and rebuild an old conversion, and I'm pleased enough with the work in progress that I wanted to share!

The main advancement from the old version is a new sword and a more dynamic pose, thanks to rebuilding the entire neck section., one of the arms and adding a fun new hair-do!

I'm sure you can tell who it is!

The app has updated with points!

Drukhari summary:

  • Haemonculus -10
  • Lelith -5
  • Kabalites -5
  • Hand -10
  • Hellions +5
  • Mandrakes +5
  • Ravager -10
  • Reavers +5
  • Scourge Heavy -20
  • Talos -5

(+5 per Dark Lance or Haywire Blaster!)

EDIT: Here's the link to the new MFM: https://mfm.warhammer-community.com/en/drukhari

Interesting then that the monsters went down a little, the faster units )Hellions and Reavers) went up, and the stealth unit (Mandrakes) went up!

All in all, no a huge amount I'd say. Still roughly balances out as it was. My pure-Kabalites might end up with a few points spare though.

Things to look for in Wednesday's points update

Possible rises: A lot! Venoms, Raiders, Pain Engines, and Wych Cults.

Possible downs: Not much, except for Corsairs?

Functions I considered basic are now locked behind "Connected Experiences"?

I tried to put a presentation together today, and found that some basic image editing functions (such as removing an image's background) have become locked behind a privacy setting that requires sharing data online?

The setting says that these are for "experiences that find information online", but its happening to functions that require no online information at all.

Does anyone know why this is happening? Why simple systems that worked before now suddenly require the sharing of data?

When charging, phone keeps going off with 'no usb' symbol

I'm having a weird problem that only started in the past weeks. In the middle of the night, while the phone is charging from a main plug, it just goes off. Standard phone call notification sound (song).

But absolutely nothing is happening. There's no call, no messages, etc.

The only thin different is that in the top bar the below symbol has appeared:

https://preview.redd.it/oyd3xffzy12h1.png?width=130&format=png&auto=webp&s=a93841ff4752448548fb17122d64982690b28a8c

But, as soon as I unlock the phone, the notification sound stops and the symbol disappears. So I can never check the notifications to find out what the symbol means or what the phone is trying to tell me.

I think the symbol means that a USB is disconnected. But it wasn't connected in the first place. It was just plugged in to only charge.

Any ideas?

(I can't just put the phone on silent, because I also need it for the morning alarm.)

Thanks.

Steam store tag "Dungeons & Dragons" has been removed!

quoted from steam below:

Removed Tags

We haven't often removed tags from Steam, so we've built up quite a list. The set that we've removed today are done so because they no longer serve a good purpose for establishing connections between games or describing unique and useful elements of content in the game. Many of these tags have alternative options on Steam that better describe the content, and already have a high degree of overlap in application.

For example, both the "NSFW" tag and the "Mature" tag have a very high degree of overlap with more descriptive tags such as "Gore", "Violent", and "Sexual Content".

Some of the other tags that we are removing today are perhaps too subjective like "Well-Written" and "Masterpiece", resulting in disagreements and inconsistent application. Some tags just don't apply to very many products, such as "Drama" and "Ambient".

And lastly, there are a number of tags that apply to specific intellectual property, an attribute that community-sourced information like tags is not well suited for. These collections of intellectual property are typically already covered by the developers and publishers setting up franchise pages to collect together officially all the content shared by that IP.

Here is the full list of tags being removed:

  • 3D Vision
  • Ambient
  • America
  • Blood
  • Crowdfunded
  • Cult Classic
  • Documentary
  • Drama
  • Dungeons & Dragons
  • Electronic
  • Experience
  • Feature Film
  • Foreign
  • GameMaker
  • Games Workshop
  • Illuminati
  • Kickstarter
  • LEGO
  • Masterpiece
  • Mature
  • Movie
  • Narration
  • NSFW
  • Roguevania
  • RPGMaker
  • Warhammer 40K
  • Web Publishing
  • Well-Written

Hi all, I've just started getting into the game (I played long ago after the initial release and had no idea it was still going!).

I've opted for a somewhat silly undead band to start out with, going really heavily into henchmen. The band currently consists of a vampire, necromancer, 4 Wolves and 6 zombies (skeletons). I'm beginning to sense I'll have a problem because little is earning experience but it's worked nicely for pilfering wyrdstone and fleeing, or just forming walls to protect stuff.

Though 3 ganes in, and my necromancer already lost an eye....

Yet another batch of Grots, and we're still barely scratching the surface! Man, I really hope I'm still able to field them all at once!

Today's collection includes a Grot who may secretly be a billionaire, someone with a blunderbuss, a very basic Grot (because we can't convert all the time, a Grot from an unknown Germanic world, a Grot with a hairy back and arms, an armoured little Grot with TWO very dangerous guns, and a Runtherd who spent time in Bretonnia!

Hopefully this is a simple thing that can be fixed. By on the app (android) I've just discovered i lost the ability to swipe yhe screen to cycle through sections (home/popular/latest).

How do I get that function back?

The only other post I could find that was similar was from a couple of years ago, suggesting it was an experiment or beta thing at the time? If so its a bad one, and I want out of it.

Bear with me on this a little.

This comes from a discussion about a possible play of a Final Fantasy rpg, and two of our group quite liking FF8. And conversation brought up that someone else owns a copy of Triple Triad, the card game from FF8.

Picture: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/finalfantasy/images/5/5a/Triple-Triad-FFVIII.png/revision/latest?cb=20150219183648

Its a fairly simple concept - a 3x3 grid, decks of cards. Each card has a number for each side, if you place a card and it beats a card's side, you flip that other card. Most cards in your colour wins.

I jokingly said - I remand this as a resolution mechanic.

So, working that through............

  • Each fight or extended challenge would be played out as a single game of Triple Triad.
  • Each player has their own deck, partly customized for their class.
  • The GM chooses from a few decks of scaling difficulty depending on enemy or challenge.
  • Turns alternate. Players, then GM, then players, then GM, and so on.
  • Each player has their own designated turn. On their turn each player plays one card onto the board.
  • Players keep one hand per game session, and draw a new card when they play one.
  • To make a game last a bit and add challenge, board size is based on player count (so 4x4 for a 4-player party?)
  • If players win, they get one of the GM's cards to add to their decks? Or other rewards? Maybe just earn specific cards for things they defeat, which go into a player pool that anyone can draw from?

Too stupid or convoluted?

Your thoughts to improve?
