This is just me bitching about writers who use hardly any non-character/ship tags, don’t provide a summary, and then tag it “dead dove.” I feel like I’m beating a dead horse here but ffs “dead dove” means “exactly what it says on the tin,” not “darkfic.” I know next to nothing about this fic from these tags, and unless I’m on my third or fourth run through a certain tag and getting desperate, I’m not gonna waste my time on it.

I’m only halfway through getting endings for the characters but I think 3/50 hate endings isn’t too bad for a first run 😅

Obviously a big work in progress (particularly cause my system doesn't recognize Scotland, Wales, and England separately), but I've got a rough draft of where our WoW pop girls are from! I split it into three major groups: country of birth, city of birth, and other relevant nations (that last one is for women with significant cultural ties to other places, for example Sophia of Katseye was born in NYC but raised in the Philippines, Dua Lipa is the child of immigrants, Anachnid is part of the Anisininew and Mi'kmaq nations that aren't recognized on most maps, etc.).

Darker colors mean more ladies born there, lighter means fewer, based on the suggestions from the WoW weekly posts and a few bonuses (ex. I was adding in Sophia and said "hey why not add in all of Katseye while I'm here").

Also included are two example nations: Indonesia and England.

I'm gonna try to make this available online and interactive for public use, but I got too excited and wanted to share early!

PS if you can’t name and identify by face the 2nd and 3rd richest people in the world without looking it up, I don’t wanna hear shit from you about Taylor’s wealth being bad because you don’t actually care about wealth inequality, you care about bitching about Taylor.

I get intermittently obsessed with perfume and anything I'm interested in has a habit of bleeding over from one topic to another, thus this little project was born. With Katseye, I leaned towards what the girls already said they liked, but since we don't have that level of insight into the saints yet, this is purely vibes based 😅

Saint Satine: for the group as a whole, I wanted something that leaned towards the elegant side while also focusing on the energy they have. As a result, I went with some "elevated" forms of certain youthful scents - orange blossom over orange, vanilla caviar over vanilla, macarons over cookies, brown sugar over sugar. I think it worked out pretty well here!

Saint Lexie: okay, I fell victim to the "Lexie looks like Snow White" bit that's been in my head since Pop Star Academy. But I think the fruitiness of the apple would best be balanced out by flowers and those very strong, steady base notes.

Saint Samara: she looks like a beach girlie, what can I say? I can totally envision her hanging out, catching some sun, and when you're doing that, you need citrus, you need amber, you need something that'll grow stronger throughout the day.

Saint Emily: honestly this is the reverse of what I usually do, putting the gourmands at the bottom of the pyramid and the flowers at the top, but I think it would work for Emily, and I especially wanted to put the cherry blossoms up front because Sakura said she's the closest with her and I thought it would be a cute little reference.

Saint Sakura: the baby of the group! Sakura's got such fun, bubbly energy that I wanted to reflect it in her perfume, and I ended up really building the entire scent around the strawberry fizz candy and the ice cream.

Truth be told I was leaning towards Florence Pugh for Idgie because her Thunderbolts look is definitely giving Idgie vibes, but I had my heart set on Alice for Ruth and wanted to choose someone younger for Idgie since there’s a bit more of a gap between the two in the book/movie as well.
