Xbox Series disc owners, did anyone else get the updated game for free?

I recently read that PS5 players who owned either the disc or digital version of the game received a free update to the enhanced version launched yesterday, whereas Xbox players only received the new version if they owned the digital version.

I have an Xbox Series X and only own the disc version, which I've owned since launch in 2020. However, when I attempted to buy the update the Microsoft store proclaimed: "you already own this"

It then proceeded to download the new version, which now plays without the disc.

It feels like a bit of an unexpected result, but I'm wondering if others have found the same?

Today's £30 Marketplace Find

I haven't had a PS3 in over 10 years, and really wanted to pick one up again for 2 reasons. 1 because the PS3 has the best version of The Godfather, a game I love, and to have a go at jailbreaking it.

This morning this popped up on Marketplace for £30.

It's a CECHL03 currently running System Software 4.78.

It needs a good polish but seems to work well.

I'm very new to jailbreaking, but I'm going to have a go today :)

Supercharging rates.

Evening all :) I have a query regarding supercharging and hoping someone can help.

The supercharger near me has a very low rate between 11pm and 8am of 22p per kWh. After 8am it increases to 46p.

I'm trying to find out if the rate you pay at the beginning of your charge session is fixed until you finish charging, so if I plug in at 7:45am at the 22p rate for example, and continue charging until 8:15am, will my entire charging session be on the 22p rate or will it increase to 46p after 8am?

Cheers :)

Back in the fold after a decade. Pleasantly Surprised.

Last week I saw an offer on the Virgin Media website which advertised 350Mb Broadband and the TV package with Sky Sports for £54.99 per month. I decided I'd like the Ultra HD upgrade for an extra £7, bringing the total to £61.99 per month.

Sky point blank refused to offer a decent retention deal anywhere close to this (their closest offer being £104 a month, with me currently paying £131.50 out of contract), so after 11 years with Sky I made the decision to move back to Virgin Media (having been with them before I moved to Sky, going all the way back as Telewest in the early 2000's!)

The Virgin package would mean I'd lose the ability to record, but considering I'd be saving nearly £70 a month, it's a luxury I could live without.

I had my reservations, I'd read the horror stories about poor customer service, the broadband not being as reliable as an OpenReach setup, setup being a nightmare and the streaming TV box being fairly poor with buffering, lag and choppiness. But I must be honest, everything was wonderfully smooth.

Although I cancelled with Sky directly, Virgin have also notified Sky that I'm leaving, the package containing all of the equipment arrived 2 days after I ordered it and setup was a doddle (especially since the old Telewest wall box was still there)

Everything fired up instantly and began working in a couple of minutes.

The broadband is mega fast compared to the speed I was getting with Sky, the TV box seems perfectly fine (I'm currently watching F1 practice in UHD as I type this, although I'll admit the Sky UI seemed more in-depth and slicker)

I'm sure I've just jinxed it by typing this post, but in a world where companies can't seem to do anything right, this was a very straightforward switch.

Keeping a black car clean is a full time job. But it's worth it.

18 seconds after this photo was taken, a thin film of dust covered the entire car and ruined my day.

An unexpectedly quiet Friday gave me the chance to use my newly bought machine polisher.

I wasn't expecting much for £50, but I'm pleasantly surprised by how good it was!

After a year of trusty service, the £1,000 SLK has gone to a new home. Picked up its replacement this morning :)

My first V8, I don't think I'll ever get bored of that low down burble. A lovely 150 mile drive home was a great way to get acquainted with it..
