Field 38mm + Safari = Perfection
Picked this guy up a couple weeks back and decided it was coming to Africa with me. Please enjoy the view from my morning stint at the Tintswalo Safari Lodge in South Africa. Ft... Cheetah & 1/2 of a Zebra

My Duro has been all over the world with me and I got to add Africa to the list this week! Tintswalo Safari Lodge - South Africa
Hello there, please enjoy this 2017 Vintage of Orange Tabby named Jicama. He's a sweet, cuddly, yet elusive as far as a profile goes!
Hello,
Please meet Olive, she's a 2017 vintage tabby, who commonly loses connection with the braincell during pets or during general existence. Also magically get's her ear stuck trying to pickup the signal to the braincell.
Thank you,
The guy that pays Olive's bills
About two years ago, a handful of my buddies and I (26-32M) started getting somewhat into watches. I would be curious to hear people's opinions on how I ended up?
Context - I know the addiction shall continue. I am an overly sentimental person. And purchase watches when they have some type of connection to me in some way, shape, or form. As more context, I find myself buying watches on trips or for significant life events.
More recently I've started modding Casio's, building Seiko's, and fixing old mechanical watches. (the Hampden's pictured all were bought not running and now all run)
Happy to provide model details or purchase stories upon request. My personal favorite story "watch" is the Zeppelin which I purchased in Oberammergau, Germany. Knew nothing about the brand, walked into the store on an amazing day and needed to cement it with a souvenir
My GF 31F and took a weekend trip to London and grabbed matching MJW "Accurates" and since have grabbed the limited edition Chicago editions at Windup watch fair the last two years. She wears all of those more than anything.
What would people add? What brands should I checkout? Almost everything in the collection is a 3 digit watch with exception to the Tissot T-Lord & the Tudor BB 58. Should I step up and start down the more luxury path? Just want to know people's thoughts.
(Watches Not Pictured)
-Hampden Model II Algren in stainless steel
(forgot it was in a travel sleeve)
-Tudor Black Bay 58 in Bronze
(in for service)
-Seiko 5 Automatic Green Dial & Seiko Tank quartz red dial
(little cousin had a wedding and no watches to match suits)
-NOS 1970s Glycine Automatic 33mm
(being shipped to me Ebay live purchase)
All conversation is welcome, would love opinions, let the discussion flow!
This Timex Expedition Solar had been in the case and seldom on my wrist. I scooped this rubber band for another watch and didn't love it but I think it looks super solid on this guy. Hoping it will see more days out of the case as a result!
The black standard duro was the first watch given to me by my parents. The watch has been all over the world with me, I swim with it 3 times a week and it's hasn't missed a beat. The original "crystal" had seen better days so swapped it with a real sapphire date window crystal today. (Left all the original beat up bezel because I love it)
Number two was the mess around Duro, it got a blue rubber clasp strap and blue tinted sapphire date window crystal today and I love it.
Which would be on your wrist more?
Fox news title: "Chicago rampant violence, terribly unsafe city"
I scooped up this what I believe to be an early Hampden trench‑style wristwatch using a small Hampden pocket‑watch movement that was converted to a wristwatch, likely from the 1910s–1920s period.
Balance wheel is broken in two spots and needs replacement. Any ideas where I can find one?
I scooped this Tissot T-Lord Automatic Chronograph off a live bid site for sub $700 shipped. I'm curious to people's thoughts on the watch and if it looks good on the wrist or is it too big?
Also I'd love to learn more about the movement powering the watch, 60hr power reserve for this type of watch seems impressive to me.
Thoughts?
Nope just in a wine rack... ft. Jicama the elusive...
I swim with this watch like three times a week!
29M & 31F - Since our trip to London in February 2025 (2nd picture in the London Showroom), we fell in love with MJW. We bought matching "Accurate's" that day. I've scooped "limit run" watches back to back years at Windup Watch Fair in Chicago.
Big supporter of the brand and with the amount of conversations started wearing these watches.... I feel obligated to fill the case! Curious what people think we should fill it with? (MJW only .... obviously)

Side note would love numbered case backs for the two from this year. Still have the boxes with the handwritten serials in them and would happily pay to get numbered case backs.

Hello Community,
29M living in Chicago here looking desperately for guidance and help. Today marks 4 months since I was let go from my last role and I've been regularly searching and applying to anything under the sun with little to no success.
Experience
1 Year - Director of Corporate Partnerships - Legal AI Startup (4th full time hire, pushed out when the company hit roughly 50 people)
2 1/2 Years - AM to AE to Senior AE - Adobe
1 Year - Enterprise BDR - Zendesk
2 Years - BDR to AE - Midwest Tech/Hardware Company
5 Years - Retail Rep to Head of Sales & Digital Media - Retail E-Bike Company
Here's where I could use the help -
I have no college degree, dropped out to help start the E-Bike company and never went back. Managed to climb the ladder quick without it. This is the first time in my career I've been let go as all my previous roles found me. Almost all of my mutual connections have been exhausted at this point and I'm either looking to change careers because I can't find anything viable or start applying for well below my experience roles. (BDR/SDR/etc)
What I'm finding is that without a college degree I get immediately thrown out of the application pool for most large tech or SaaS companies. I've been screened 4 times with referrals but told I couldn't move forward due to the lack of college degree.
I'm looking for advice from anyone in a similar position. In my career I've only ever missed an annual quota once. (My last role, 95% attainment and it got me fired) I've got solid references across the board and all my numbers dating back to the last two years at the E-Bike company.
I'm just looking for advice in the search or if anyone works somewhere a college degree isn't a requirement for candidates that would be willing to chat and potentially refer me.
