'Who I'd rather be a victim of' tier list

Before you ask about Matsuri. I'd start glazing the fuck out of him as a survival strat.

The juxtaposition when I got to this panel lmao

I was expecting a more rugged 'out of his mind' Kaneki to appear. Especially with the shot of his eyepatch right before this panel (cool design btw). But then you get a full image of him with that fuck ass outfit and those same innocent eyes, and all the aura buildup is gone 😭😂.

[The Count’s Secret Maid] TIL that some translators use AI to censor manhwa [kiss --> hug]

They changed a kiss scene into a hug lmao. It's an Arabic translation. Was honestly flabbergasted to find out stuff like this happens. I guess it's a "morality" thing. But putting that aside. I don't agree with feeding the art into an AI to generate something else. Even if another artist came in and changed it without AI, that's still changing the story/ artists vision. Atp, just translate another story that fits ur standards.

He's not chopped enough 💔💔💔

Bro already looks handsome in ch 1 of the webtoon as a mundane... what are they gonna do for path of ascension? Give him a haircut and some facewash?

[Odd Girl Out & Introverted Us] If I had a nickel for every time [a romance arc absolutely ruins a flawless high school comedy/friendship focused manhwa], I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice

Self-explanatory.

If this is the actual final version and the actual art style of the manhwa... Season 1 better be 250 chapters 😂✌️

I don't want a 60-chapter season, two-month season breaks, or any of that. Did you guys see those backgrounds? They are 80% 3D assets. No offense, but this webtoon/manhwa has been teased for almost two years. We've been drip-fed hype for so long, and honestly, the final product is disappointing.

First, it was the cover art for the English physical books, and now it's the manhwa designs. The first preview was in a completely different style, nothing like the second preview.

The only positive thing I can say is that, if nothing else, at least we shouldn't have to worry about constant hiatuses and season breaks. Considering how overreliant they are on 3D assets, the serialization shouldn't be so grueling. But considering the trend of disappointments, season 1 will probably only be 25 chapters followed by a 3-month hiatus 😂✌️.

Sooooo like... what's been going on lately?

Like, is this a new trend? Every single title I read has the same comments. Love triangle or not, romance or not. I think it's a little beyond SML syndrome at this point.

It's more like SML derangement syndrome. It doesn't matter if the manhwa has 10 or 100 chapters. Or if the manhwa even has an SML, people WILL find another guy and WILL be in those comments swearing up and down that they're a better choice for the FL over the ML.

I'm not new to this. I've read a lot of old shoujo and older webtoons. Second, Third, Fourth MLs are not out of the ordinary for me. But this recent wave of toxic attachment to every male character that isn't the ML is a little weird. It almost feels like people are venting their own relationship frustrations on the characters. Like they wish they had an SML in their own life to save them from their current partner or mediocrity.

There are also a lot of double standards at play. If the SML is older and has more experience with women, the comments will praise it as a positive thing. But if the ML is older or has more experience with women, those same commenters will slut-shame the character and will deem it as a negative thing. If the SML has a toxic ex or a stalker, the comments will pity the character and will justify the FL getting dragged into the mess. But if the ML has literally ANY previous relationship issues, again, "he has too much baggage," "girl, he's not worth it," blah blah blah. Final example, if the SML has family issues or trauma, they pity him, say that the FL supporting him is positive and builds their relationship, but if it's the ML with those same issues, it's dragging the FL down, the FL is not the ML's therapist or babysitter, etc.

It's also not lost on me that every single ML is deemed as ugly, when they literally have the same exact face as the second ML minus the hair dye 😂✌️

I cringe so much reading the same comment over and over and over again. Like a recent manhwa I picked up, "Hate Girl" is the newest victim. The manhwa has 10 chapters; we barely know anything about the ML or the SML, but people are in those comments acting like it's chapter 130 of OTL already. Don't even get me started on TikTok or X. Reddit has been the only platform where I see less of this behavior. I'm honestly confused by this growing wave over the last few years (I think this started on the B website).

Anyway, what do you guys think? Am I crazy? Or do I have a point?

[Love Revolution] Personal Project: I'll pick up translations for Love Revolution until it's complete in English. Starting Now.

1-2 chapters a day. 145 chapters were available until yesterday, but now it's 146. I'll keep going until ch 440.

This was one of my favorite webtoon/manhwa oat. Never got an official English translation despite being one of the most popular webtoons in Korea when it was releasing in the early to late 2010s.

If you want to follow along, you can find 146 onwards on a certain website. 4th result on Google when you search "Yeonae Hyeokmyeong manhwa".

If you can't find it, DM me.
