I really like the idea of using an app to organize my stuff because I'm very busy and I'm working on a lot of different projects all the time, so it would be really convenient to have a system in place to manage and keep track of everything

But every time I try to use Notion it just feels so mundane, I realize it probably has a lot of potential but why is the learning curve so steep? I don't want to spend hours on setting it up I want to save time

Ho dovuto dimettermi dal mio attuale posto di lavoro per motivi personali/familiari non legati al lavoro in sé.

Ero l’unico rappresentante commerciale dell’organizzazione (una piccola azienda nel settore dell’istruzione privata). Abbiamo attraversato una recessione molto seria e ho dovuto lavorare con pochissimi contatti, ma avevo un tasso di conversione eccezionale e ho fatto guadagnare all’azienda una buona quantità di denaro.

Alla mia capa questo piaceva. Mi esibiva in giro come il suo “ragazzo d’oro”, che è una tattica manipolatoria piuttosto squallida, ma non posso negare che mi facesse piacere.

Non era contenta del fatto che dovessi andarmene, ma capiva che non aveva nulla a che fare con il lavoro e non me ne ha fatto una colpa.

Uno dei miei ultimi giorni di lavoro, mi ha chiamato nel suo ufficio e ha iniziato a dirmi che stava pianificando di chiudere l’attuale azienda e avviarne un’altra in una città diversa con un modello di business differente, chiedendomi di unirmi al progetto come socio.

Onestamente sono rimasto scioccato: dopotutto sono un venditore di 25 anni senza esperienza imprenditoriale, mentre lei è una donna sulla cinquantina che possiede aziende da più tempo di quanto io sia vivo.

Ovviamente mi piace l’idea di diventare imprenditore, e oggettivamente lei è una persona con un casini di soldi e ottime conoscenze, quindi sarebbe il partner ideale da avere in un’attività. Però ci sono alcune cose che mi preoccupano:

1. ha tre metri di pelo sullo stomaco; penso sia il tipo di persona che fregherebbe chiunque se le convenisse

2. è manipolatrice e mente molto. Le piace far sentire le persone speciali e poi parlare male di loro alle spalle. Tuttavia non capisco cosa pensi di ottenere facendo “sentire bene” me, visto che tutto ciò che potevo offrirle era il mio tempo e ormai non glielo sto più dando

3. non è particolarmente competente. Ha preso alcune ottime decisioni nei primi anni 2000 ed è eccellente nello scegliere le persone giuste da assumere, ma sostanzialmente da allora ha vissuto di rendita. È molto disorganizzata.

Quindi non so davvero cosa pensare. Mi ha chiesto di “restare in contatto” con lei e ha detto che le piacerebbe sentire i miei input e le mie idee nei prossimi mesi.

Non so se prendere sul serio questa cosa, potrebbe essere l'occasione di una vita come un'inculata di scala generazionale

I had to resign from my current workplace for personal/family reasons that are unrelated to the job itself.

I was the only sales rep in the organization (small business in the private education industry). We went through a very serious recession and I had to work with extremely few leads, but I had an outstanding conversion rate and made the company a good amount of money.

My boss liked me for that. She parades me around as her "golden boy" which is a sleazy manipulation tactic but I can't help but feel flattered.

She wasn't happy that I had to leave, but she understood it had nothing to do with the job and didn't hold it against me.

On one of my last days of work, she called me into her office and started telling me that she was planning to shut down the current company and start another one in a different city with a different business model, and asked me join as a partner in this project.

I was honestly shocked, after all I'm a 25 year old salesman with no business experience and she's a woman in her fifties who's owned businesses longer than I've been alive.

Obviously, I like the idea of becoming an entrepreneur, and she is objectively someone with LOADS of money and very good connections so that would be the ideal persona to have as a business partner. But there are a few things that concern me:

1. she's the only person who's a bigger scumbag than I am, I think she's the kind of person that will screw anyone over if it's convenient

2. she's manipulative and lies a lot. She likes to make people feel special and talk shit behind their backs. However I don't understand what she thinks she would achieve by making me "feel good" when all I had to offer her was my time and now I'm not giving her that anymore

3. she's not too competent. She made a few very good decisions in the early 2000s and is excellent at hiring the right people but she's essentially been coasting off that. She's very unorganized

So I don't really know what to think. She asked that I "keep in contact" with her and that she would love to hear my input and ideas in the following months.

I've struggled with RJ a lot in my past two relationships, which spanned over multiple years.

The girl I recently started dating comes from a very conservative culture and had no sexual experience (besides kissing) before me. I feel like I'm "cured" from RJ now but I also fear that if things didn't work out with her, a new relationship would be SO hard to sustain now and that the RJ would hit 10x harder.

Am I making sense?

As the title said, I've been dating this girl for a while and today we attempted to have sex for the first time. It would have been the first time for her in general.

I slipped it in but I could only get about a third in, and it was extremely painful for her, and she bled a lot. I don't know if she just wasn't relaxed enough, but there had been a lot of foreplay beforehand.

It was very similar to when I was having sex with this girl who had pelvic hypertonia (idk if that's the right medical term), obviously I didn't tell her that but could that be a factor?

If you run a business and want to hire a salesperson, you should have at least one of the three following things:

- Warm leads (e.g. from paid ads)

- An existing, demonstrable client base

- A base salary

I understand you're trying to cut costs but nobody (especially an experienced salesperson from a first world country) is going to want to work for you if they essentially have to build the business from scratch for you. If that's what they wanted, they would just start the business themselves.

The sales department is the engine of any business, and you should invest in it. Don't come for me.

I enrolled in a master's degree in 2023, I completed most of the coursework but towards the end of the program I just stopped going to university and started ignoring my professors' and study coordinator's emails, it was absolutely idiotic on my side but at the time my mental health was in a very dangerous place. Anyways, I think I have two or three courses left to complete, is there a chance that I will be able to complete the program now, after being completely inactive for almost a year?

Has any of you experienced this? What's the best way to approach this? Also, because I did pay full tuition upfront, is there a chance that I will have to face any (major) expenses, besides what I imagine could be administrative and service fees?
