You SHOULD care about the resale value

Imho the advice of saying “watches are not rational purchases so you shouldnt worry about the resale value” is silly and quite frankly ridiculous.

Sure, even if you really really like a watch, if it has shitty resale value, you should take that into consideration. Why? Well so you dont overpay of course. If the resale value is ass, you are likely way overpaying if you buy at MSRP.

You also dont know if your taste may change, wouldnt you want to preserve as much value so that you may take a smaller loss when selling it in favor of another one?

Oh and dont even THINK about the bullshit of “oh if you dont sell it you dont lose anything”. Thats utter bullshit, you lost your money the second you walked out the AD.

Im not saying you shouldnt buy a watch just because the resale value is bad, or avoid wearing one you already own to preserve the value, but just because you are into watches doesnt mean you have to be completely financially irresponsible and cant think shit out logically first. Straight up telling people not to worry about resale value is stupid and irresponsible.

PSA, you can 3 star Hakone drift zone in a (nearly) stock M2 that you get for free

I was curious what I could get away with and it seems that all you need is weight reduction and drift suspension. Definitely had a few slip ups and skill issues along the way, someone better than me could probably do it in a completely stock one.

18M Is XEQT truly the solution to my problem?

Title is mostly self explanatory. I made some dumb investments in the form of RGTI, IBM, and Gold and bought it while it was at its peak. Telus was just incredibly poor timing (i bought right before they increased their dividend).

I'm thinking of just holding on to all of them and hoping they go back up eventually, but I've heard that doing so might not be the best way to go (sunk cost fallacy and the opportunity cost)

Should I sell them all and find something else? Maybe I could toss it all into XEQT, CAGE or VFV? Maybe even more into QQC?

The exception being Telus since it's relatively stable right now, and the dividend payout is probably high enough to where I won't need to wait a ridiculously long time to reclaim my lost value, but someone probably knows better and would do it differently.

TLDR, lack of brain usage led to lost money, should I cut my losses with RGTI, IBM, and gold? and should I hang onto T? Is QQC a good idea right now? Would just buying XEQT be a valid solution right now?

This is in my non-registered in case that information helps, attached is also a screenshot of my TFSA in case that helps too.

the watch isn't too small, you're just fat

I can assure you, the 36mm datejust you said is too small isnt actually too small and works on people who are physically fit. the only reason you think its small is because you are 40% body fat.

unless you are 6'0, you are most likely just obese.

talking about wrist sizes in circumference is really stupid

why the hell does everyone and their mom keep using wrist circumference as a measurement for our wrists when discussing whether or not a watch will fit us? are they stupid? do they not know that people are not exactly the same shape? in case you're not smart enough to comprehend, people can have flatter or taller wrists. a 44mm watch can fit someone with a flat 6.5" wrist meanwhile a 42mm watch might not fit someone with a tall 7" wrist. why tf are we not just measuring the top of our wrists?

(random photos from google for engagement)

I just sold my Le Locle today for a rather hefty loss since I've worn it a grand total of 3 times in the last 8 months. I prefer having some water resistance for peace of mind, the bracelet is a scratch and fingerprint magnet, not to mention the crystal doesn't have AR coating.

Anyways I'm now looking at getting a 35mm PRX Powermatic 80. To those of you who own it, is there anything in particular that bothers you about it?

I'm a little worried about how it fits on the wrist in terms of thickness, I've been to an AD to try it before and since the bracelet isn't adjusted, it always seems to sit a little tall and looks a little strange due to the small (in proportion) case diameter. I'm wondering if it'll go away once the bracelet is properly sized.

And what colors would you recommend? Right now i'm leaning towards the teal, ice, and MOP dials colors.
