Got served a summons for an accident from three years ago, in New York State the statute of limitations is three years for an accident so he served me that way he can collect some kind of payout since insurances never settled.
This is being hashed out by the insurance lawyers, very slowly. Pretty standard stuff auto accident lawsuit wise, The problem is that i started processing for a great agency, but now that this happened right before my background investigaion I’m pretty Much screwed.
It was a car accident where i was at fault, no ambulances on scene or anything, he just wants his money.
Has anyone experienced or know of someone that has been through this? No shot a police agency takes on a recruit with a pending civil lawsuit right?

Accident from 3 years ago, statute of limitations was ending and the plaintiff never got settlement from my insurance, so now before his time to take action ran out, he sued me to get the money hes owed. This is a usual thing and now the Insurance companies litigate back and forth until a settlement is reached.
Am I cooked? Im L.E for another agency atm, but idk how its gonna look going into processing with this over my head.

Buying out my car lease in full (residual value is 14,500). Hyundai motor finance says 16k buyout quote but when i went to the dealership they gave me 16.8k. Wtf???
Is it difficult to do the buyout on my own? I looked it up, but im wondering if the (NYS) DMV will charge me extra tax even though the buyout quote contains 1.2k in sales taxes? Will it even out to the 16.8k quote the dealership gave me?
Would love some insight from those who have done buyout without the dealership

What the title says. 2023 sedan, 23k miles, residual value is 14,500. My credit is in the 700s. Dealership said 16,800 price with tax and DMV (title exchange and re-register) fees. (Oddly enough the Hyundai Motor Finance buyout quote is 16,050$) Should I just finance the vehicle, put down 4-6k and pay 1kish a month to finish the loan early, or just pay the full balance now?
Either way id be paying the same amount. Obviously the smart option is to just finance it so I could have the money if I ever need it but I figured just buying it out now could make this a lot easier.

What are people using to study for this exam? I saw a VJC 300$ course, which is most likely worth the money but idk. I feel like most of the subject matter should be online somewhere for free.

Does a landline need to be connected to a modem?
For whatever reason, We called our isp, optimum, due to our landline not working. The technician came and installed a new modem in the basement and connected the landline to it. However, doing so made the current modem upstairs not work anymore. I want the modem upstairs to work now instead of what the technician did, but i need the landline downstairs to work as well. How does this get resolved?
To be clear, the modem upstairs has been the main modem for yeeeeeaaars now and there was never a landline connected to it. but all the sudden the landline stopped working a few weeks back and now the technician screwed everything up.
The technician is coming back next week, but im thinking its not solvable if the only thing that could be done would be to connect the landline to the basement router (the landline connecting to home wire is fixed to the basement)

I called their customer support line and they said that ““No insurance company tried to access insurance record auto or property in the past 6 months so therefore cannot send auto or property so only consumer disclosure report”
However, I need the report. I have received the consumer disclosure report, What part of the report includes the ISO CLUE credentials? Im so confused
