When in discussion of possible black characters how come Killmonger never really shows up

Probably the most iconic black villain in Marvel, and yet I have never seen any discussion or conversation about him being added to Marvel Rivals. Hell, I've seen people talk more about Gentle being added to the game than Killmonger

I think he can make for an excellent vanguard, but what do you guys think?

If Killmonger is added to marvel rivals he should be a tank

The MCU portrayal gave Killmonger a more equal look to T'Challa, but in the mainline comics, Killmonger is depicted as being much stronger and larger than T'Challa. In a contest of strength is is shown that he always wins; in fact, in pure strength, the two aren't comparable

He is about 6'6 " (Same height as Luke Cage) tall, compared to T'Challa being six feet tall

He is also depicted as a very physical figure in comics, capable of wrestling down a charging elephant and throwing stone statues. He is shown to be a very heavy and powerful man. And since the game follows the comics more than the movies, I feel it wouldn't make sense for him to be a DPS or a support.

And that will also give us something we lack in the game
Tanks
Black character
Villains

All in one.

I don't know if this is a hot take but the fights in Ordeal takes up too much time

I know how that sounds at first, "Wow, a fighting series has lots of fighting, who would have thought"

My problem is how it is presented in Ordeal. One half of an Ordeal season is around 30 episodes, and each half has around two major fights. Both take around 13 chapters to finish, leaving little room for side plots or different perspectives.

This leads to Ordeal's major problem: telling rather than showing. One major example of this is during season one, when we see the Kimiyo ban; we never see how it affects other Kimiyos. We only see the wolf cub's perspective, and they are considered heroes. We don't see any Kimiyo-led businesses, unstable Kimiyos, or any other Kimiyos

We see many villains hating humans for persecuting Kimiyos, but onscreen we never see any persecution. Outside of Cain's and Vaal's flashbacks, which are hundreds of chapters apart from each other. Instead, we get fights- good fights- but it doesn't expand the world emotionally.

This expands into the characters of Ordeal. Many characters only shine in fights, which is good for some but flattens others. We don't get time to dwell on characters seeing their personalities in different aspects of their life, or see who they are outside of combat. This heavily impacted Louise's death; while it was emotional, he didn't really do anything outside of fighting Cass. He is a major character, and yet we barely know him.

Same thing for other wolf cubs,

Tevin is supposed to be a very moral character. We should have seen him doing small yet good things.

Anton being part of the KODE heads, and yet we don't even know what he really does.

Andrea's depression after her fight with Goro is resolved in the very first chapter we see her in season 3

Azam's relationship with that girl before she died. Her death is a major moment of his character, and yet we don't know anything about her. We didn't even really see her with Azam at all

Fast forward to season 3, which really takes this to the next level. This season is supposed to show stakes; a few things are introduced. The pillars and the traitor, and yet known has time to shine despite being important players of the season. All we had was fights. While Louise vs Vaal was an important fight, I wouldn't really say any of the previous fights this season really needed to be long or at least happened so early. Che's whole first fight in season one was 'look how strong Che is,' which is good, but we should have been focusing on the traitor and the pillars instead.

Agents of SMASH is unironically one of the best depicition of Abomination. Better than 90% of his apperances in comics and other media.

They emphasized the fact that he was formerly a spy/soldier before becoming the Abomination. He doesn't just fight with brute force, but he plans.

They also showed his flaws; he can't take responsibility for his own actions and blames others. He enjoys being strong but grieves the fact that he lost his former life.

I absolutely despised Bruce jones Dark mind run with a burning passion. It's so bad that Peter David had to create two damage control comics. Such a shame too it had incredible art

Not only was this run boring as shit, it's greatist sin is practically being the Godhead of character assassination for Bruce and Abomination.

Abomination: I am just going to talk about this first because it's my biggest gripe. Before this comic came out, Abomination orginal relationship with Nadia was healthy, to say the least. He loved her, and she loved him. One of his major character arcs revolved around the fact that he would never be with her again. And his guilt for leaving her behind as he became a monster. He wanted to tell her he was still alive and that he was now the Abomination, but felt that it would destroy her, so he allowed her to think he was dead because of it. It added so much depth to his character. But here comes Bruce Jones with the biggest miss in Hulk's history, as surprise, surprise. He was a domestic abuser, apparently, and liked beating Nadia. Destroying all the depth in his character, turning him into a basic sadist villain. Completely disregarding the near decade of Emil's character writing before him. Like, genuinely, what the fuck was going through his mind? It's literally the equivalent of having Sandman trying to make money for his daughter. And suddenly turning around and being like. "Yeah, Sandman was actually really evil and likes hitting his daughter". Like, how the fuck did you drop the ball so badly? You had one of the easiest and simpie set up, and somehow still missed the shot. You know what's crazy about this? Peter David practically created Hulk: Destruction to repair this shitshow of character assassination.

Hulk/Bruce Banner: And what the hell is going on with Bruce Banner now? Since when did he start just sleeping around with any girl he met? Not just Nadia but also another female spy; he set up a time with her. Tricked her, then shot and killed her. What in tarnation is going on? How does one accomplish this level? Where did we go wrong? How far have we fallen to get her? Now I know some of you guys might bring up Caelira (I don't know if I spelled it right) from planet Hulk, but at least Hulk loved her and actually planned to spend his life there. You guys might also bring up his daughter, which doesn't really count, as she is from a different timeline in a weird crossover event and was brought into 616.

Nadia: Nothing more than a plot device

Art: I hate the fact that the art is so damn good in this. The covers and the pages are absolute masterpieces, but really just a mask for the amount of dogshit writing choices in this run

In terms of character handling, it knows its characters as well as the writers of Civil War 1 and 2 did. Barely at all. Bruce Jones genuinely wrote probably the worst Abomination on the planet. Even fucking PKJ wrote a better Abomination. He wasn't exactly great, but he was a fairly cool Abomination. Agents of SMASH had a better Abomination with better character writing than Bruce Jones. How the fuck did you let Kid Show with a terrible rating outdo you in terms of character depth? And they didn't even have Nadia in it. Damn near every comic that had Abomination in it outperformed Bruce Jones' Abomination in every aspect. The only one close to as bad is Dale Coates. And that was more of a comedy run, so it is allowed to slide. But holy fucking shit, Hulk: Destruction and Tempest Fugit both were written in hopes of reversing the damage done to both Hulk and Abomination.

Why do so many 'bible reading athiest' lie so much about reading the bible

These were literally two chapters before what they had read.

I HATE WHEN THEY TURN ABOMINATION INTO A FUCKING JOBBER! LETS NOT FORGET WHO IS SUPPOSED TO FUCKING BE

HE IS THE HULK FUCKING ARCH NEMESIS

I DON'T WANT TO HEAR NO. "Actually its the leader," or some "Actually its Red Hulk"

NO, IT'S THE ABOMINATION. WHEN WE SEE EVENTS CONTAINING ARCH NEMISIS OF MARVEL HEROES (Like bring on the bad guys), YOU DON'T SEE NO LEADER OR RED HULK

YOU SEE THE ABOMINATION

THE GUY WHO FIGHTS THE HULK ON EQUAL FOOTING! THE LITERAL FUCKING HULK

THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN SEEN AS RELATIVE TO EACH OTHER SO MUCH SO THAT THE ELDEST NEEDED HIS BODY TO EVEN CHALLENGE THE HULK!

SO WHY IS HE BEING USED AS A PUNCHING BAG!?

ANYTIME HE DOESN'T FIGHT THE HULK FOR SOME REASON HE BECOMES A THOUSAND TIMES WEAKER!!!!!

THE WHOLE TROPE OF THEIR FIGHT IS THAT THE ABOMINATION IS SO STRONG THAT THE HULK NEEDS TO BECOME MORE ANGRY TO ACTUALLY DEFEAT HIM, AND WHEN HE DOES, HE BECOMES THE MONSTER PEOPLE SAY HE IS!

I KNOW HE IS A VILLAIN AND IS SUPPOSED TO LOSE BUT FUCKING HELL MAN! DO SOME FUCKING RESEARCH!

What do you guys should be next for Abomination character

How would you like Abomination to evolve as a character

u/Sweet-Conference4347 — 4 months ago

(Loved trope) "I may be without my weapon/powers or team but I am still a grown ass adult or grown teen (Bonus points if they aren't even really good at hand to hand combat)

Characters who aren't known to be strong without their main weapon, power, or team. Still managing to kick ass

  1. Bruce Banner, after fighting and beating a gunman without the Hulk (Marvel comics)

  2. Also, Bruce Banner fights his father before killing him. Before he even became the Hulk (Marvel comics)

  3. Percy killing a demon ghost thing without his gun (Vox machina). Granted, his team was there, but they were mutiple demons, and Percy managed to kill one

We have a whole age of monsters event. This is a gold mine for Blade but knowing marvel they won't do anything with his character.

As both a Hulk fan and a Blade fan, I am happy Hulk is relevant again, but damn, they need to do something with Blade
