I’ve had this idea for an Arena mode Ive dubiously named Arachne Arena. Marathon’s gunplay is immaculate and I think an arena game mode would be ridiculously fun to play. It could revolve around a Slayer game mode set inside different POIs suited for pvp like Pinwheel, Complex, or overflow.

There could be preset load outs to choose from and 3-4 teams fighting each other with power weapons in specific spots like Halo. The incentive to play the mode could be faction specific contracts and potentially rewarding the 1st place team with salvage.

I think replacing the “ranked” mode with something like this would help boost the ranked population. Not many people are playing ranked and at the top level the mizzy/ bubble shield meta is pretty stale. Just some random idea I thought of. Sometimes it’s tiring to play the extraction mode constantly especially when the gunplay is so satisfying. A slayer mode with incentive to play could boost the population.
