New to Anime here recommendations?
Hey I’m a 25M, who has just started getting an interest in Anime.
However with so much to select, I really don’t know where to begin.
The only real anime I remember watching was with my wife a couple years ago titled “Grave of the fireflies”
This is kind of the genre of anime’s I’d like to explore more. Less action, more feeling, emotion, drama.
Also if you recommend me someone, if you could also let me know which subscription or website you use to watch.
Thanks in advance for any recommendations.
3 Months later..
It’s been 3 months now since I originally posted my “gaming closet” and got ripped to shreds by you guys.
Some of you however gave me some good advice and some pretty cool ideas.
My next thoughts would be to build some shelves or something, however I’m planning on waiting until I receive my new monitor.
I also was thinking or ordering some stick on tiles and paint because the paint is killing me. Possibly even some nice detailed acoustic panels.
Note: I have ordered a fan that will be cut into the door which will exchange air.
Dropped Crown w/ LED insert Mockup
This was a fun way to spend my morning.
Little mock up I did for the crown we will be throwing in our coffer ceilings.
Interested to see how this will turn out all said and done
What is life like for a young Tradesperson in Russia?
I’m a 25M Canadian Carpenter and I’ve always been so fascinated with Russia.
What is working culture like?
Of course Russia is a massive landmass so I’m sure it varies greatly.
I’m just curious as I see my future as the typical North American rat race.
Spotted putting in work!
This was a new one, wonder when this stuff will stop.
When is the time to move my server to 2.9?
So I run a server for myself to play on via Reizor Hosting. And I’m wondering, when is the time that I should consider moving over to 2.9. Should I wait for full release?
What are the pros/cons to updating now?
I’m currently in mid-late LV
First time framing arches. How did I do?
First time framing arches. How did I do?
NOTE, this is a custom home, this is the 4th rendition to this wall, that is why it was framed with so much material. First it’s no arch, then yes, then too big, then too small.
Next week I might post again and it’ll be back to square one.
Basically had do go back in my mind and figure out how to do an elipse on site, gotta say that was pretty damn satisfying to pull of.
Cool fish I caught on the Amazon.
I’ve been trying to find the exact ID of this, I took this somewhere in the Amazon, the only translation I got was “Peixe- cão” which translates directly to “Dogfish”
Anyways was a 4/10 in terms of taste if anyone was wondering. Way too many bones to pick.
Non-Integer Scaling on 5K
I’d love to hear from anyone who has hands-on experience with one of the new 5K triple-mode monitors.
I’m really interested in them but haven’t had a chance to try one myself.
I have a few questions, mainly about the 4K mode, since it relies on non-integer scaling:
•How does 4K actually look in practice?
•Does it appear noticeably softer than native 4K?
•How would you compare the text clarity?
•Is there any noticeable input latency when gaming?
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s used one and can share their experience or explain how the scaling works in the real world. Thanks!

What might have caused this?
Carpenter here! Just trying to understand this?
Saw this for my friends apartment, I’m just wondering what might have caused the ripples? Also the downsides, etc give me all the info you can
It doesn’t seem to be on any of the other roofs in the area. It doesn’t look that old either? Is this just a bad install?
Concrete Planter Box part 2
For anyone who was interested in my first post regarding this build. 4’ x 16’ concrete garden box/bench.
Here’s the update, pour is at 11am tomorrow.
Am I missing anything? I was thinking of throwing up some last minute braces.
My everyday
I really enjoy taking photos and videos of my job because we get to do some pretty cool things. I sometimes forget how lucky I am to learn on this, so I thought you all might enjoy getting a little bit of it.
8500 sq.ft home we’re working on.
Do you check for a glossy/matte finish? If so what’s your favourite and why?
I never used to bat an eye but I just recently saw a side by side of the same monitor in a glossy and a matte finish and WOW..
I cannot for see myself ever really going for a matte, it seems just to dampen any colours. Especially on an OLED where the contrast is what makes an OLED so great.
Anyways is this something that the regular person is worrying about or am I starting to become a snob?
Proud of myself
This is both an appreciation post for myself, as well as a criticism post.
For context, I’m a second year apprentice and today I was tasked to start building this little concrete planter box, along side compacting some road base for our landscaper in between loads.
We work 8 hour days so I’d say I was pretty efficient.
Something to note, I understand I’m gonna need to deconstruct some of my vertical walers in-order too gets in my horizontal ones. I didn’t have any wedges on site.
I did ask about this was told “just do it well figure it out tomorrow”
Anyways I’m proud of myself, I think I can see for myself I’m understanding this process pretty well.
Would you agree?
Disagree?
Any questions?
Most Versatile Monitor(s) of 2026?
Multi-Mode support enables seamless switching across 5K 165Hz, 4K 220Hz and QHD 330Hz
Gigabyte Aorus Elite Series Gaming Monitor
"Leading the lineup is the world's first 27-inch 5K Mini LED glossy gaming monitor, delivering Retina-level 218 PPI clarity, backed by 2,304-zone local dimming for precise contrast control. Multi-Mode support enables seamless switching across 5K 165Hz, 4K 220Hz and QHD 330Hz, adapting to both sharper visuals and ultra-smooth gameplay. The AORUS ELITE OLED Series advances panel technology with fourth-generation Tandem OLED and RealBlack Glossy surface, reaching HDR peak brightness up to 1,500 nits. The FO32U24GP pushes the experience further with Dual Mode and DP 2.1 UHBR20 delivering up to 80Gbps full-bandwidth connectivity, while FO27Q28G completes the lineup for a broader range of configurations."
For context: this is all subjective to my personal needs and wants in a monitor. I’m coming from an older 4K 60Hz Philips monitor from years ago, so realistically almost anything modern is going to feel like a huge upgrade to me.
I’ve been going back and forth constantly between OLED and IPS, and recently got introduced to the world of Mini LED monitors. After spending a lot more time understanding the pros and cons of each panel type, I think I’ve mostly landed on Mini LED for my personal use case — although I still absolutely love the look of Samsung’s new 5th gen QD-OLED panels.
Most of my time is spent playing games like modded Minecraft, Call of Duty, Elden Ring, simulator games, and the occasional esport title. Outside of gaming, I spend a lot of time editing photos, scrolling Reddit, using Discord, and just general browsing/productivity work. Basically, I’m kind of all over the map, which has made finding the “perfect monitor” feel nearly impossible. Nothing really checks every single box, and honestly, I didn’t expect anything to… until I came across this.
5K 165Hz for editing photos, browsing the internet, and general desktop use.
4K 220Hz for high-resolution cinematic games.
QHD 330Hz for when I just want maximum frames.
Not to mention:
- glossy panel
- 1,500 nit HDR
- and I can leave my screen on without constantly thinking about burn-in.
- Releasing with an estimated MSRP of $999 USD at the end of Q4
This honestly feels like one of the first monitors I’ve seen that’s trying to genuinely bridge the gap between high-end productivity and high-end gaming instead of heavily sacrificing one for the other.
I’m really interested to hear everyone’s thoughts on these new Mini LED monitors and how they compare to some of the other recently announced releases from competitors.
Thoughts? (Second Monitor, Portrait orientation)
To give you a little background, I’m currently using a 27” 4K QD-OLED as my primary monitor, but since my desk space is a bit limited, I’ve been looking into adding a smaller portable monitor. I’m thinking of something in the 14” to 16” range that I can use vertically for things like Discord, Spotify, and browsing Reddit.
It might be a little overkill, but budget isn’t a major concern for me, and I’ve honestly been spoiled by 4K quality, I’m not really looking to step down on that. Largest reason being text clarity.
