RIP Genji lmao.
Yet another decade-old gem from my hard-drive! And yet another case where the artist’s tumblr no longer exists 😭

More 10-year old relics from the hard-drive! I always thought it was funny how similar the names were ;P
And alas, the original source from the artist is also gone 😔
She couldn’t take any more of being Gabriel’s tech support.
Another gem from 10 years ago that I found on my hard-drive! Alas, it would seem this artist’s tumblr is also gone 🥲
Found this gem on my hard-drive from nearly 10 years ago. idk about you, but I think we need more bashful Pharah in the game :P
Unfortunately, it would seem the artist's tumblr has been deactivated in the time since.
This is a copy-paste of a comment I left in another thread that I think would benefit from more visibility:
A talking point I’m seeing a lot of pop-news outlets latching onto is that Ana Nogueira, the writer of the film, supposedly “admitted” to misunderstanding the ending of the book, which is misrepresenting what she actually said in her interviews with Variety. She provided her interpretation of Woman of Tomorrow’s ending and how she reconciled that when it came to adapting elements of the story to a film that has to fit within the DCU, and people have been twisting that into headlines.
But more importantly, this misrepresentation also ignores the chronological order of events:
Woman of Tomorrow came out between 2021-2022, and at the time there was a lot of debate within the fandom as to whether or not Krem died at the end of the comic when Ruthye battered him upside the head with her cane. Because this was an older, frailer Krem who’d spent ages in captivity. The last panels literally showed him collapsing onto the ground, and he appears fully limp and motionless in the very last one.
As you can probably tell, there was substantial debate as to whether that meant Ruthye had left Krem to die at the very end (it’s similar to the whole debate about the ending of The Killing Joke and whether or not Batman strangled Joker). The sentiment I saw echoed regarding this interpretation was “yeah he may have finally repented by the end, but that doesn’t erase all the harm he caused, nor does he suddenly deserve forgiveness after apologizing”. Tom King only weighed in on this debate a few years later in 2024 to say that Krem didn’t die in that panel.
But here’s the thing, the script for the movie was written predominantly in 2023, so it’s not a stretch to suspect that the script was written from the “it looks like Krem might’ve died” camp, because a lot of people at the time were certainly in that camp. The movie had already began preparations for filming in 2024, so I doubt there was much room to change things by that point when King spoke on the subject.
Regardless of all this, I think the “Krem died” avenue works well for this movie in differentiating Kara from Clark in the context of the DCU. Having this difference in views between Kara and Clark can introduce interesting avenues for exploring the ideological conflict/tension between the two, as opposed to Kara just being a copy-paste of Clark (which is something I was mildly miffed about with the CW show). And I’m betting we’re going to see some of that dynamic next year in Man of Tomorrow.
And lest we forget, Tom King himself was specifically brought in to be one of the big-picture-thinking guys for the DCU, so I highly doubt that he of all people wasn’t aware of this change in the story, considering he’s the guy that came up with the original.
I discuss some plot spoilers in two sections and have blocked out the text. In case you don’t want to risk anything, my TLDR is that it’s a really great adaptation and a very fun film!
Woman of Tomorrow is my favorite comic storyline of all time, mostly because I related heavily to Kara with regards to experiences of survivor’s guilt and the resulting depression. And seeing her work through that in the comics helped me a lot during that time in my life.
I knew going into the movie that I shouldn’t expect a one-for-one remake of the book, because there simply isn’t enough time in a movie to do that without messing up pacing. For the scenes they did choose, I think they did really well. Especially the >!Krypton/Argo City flashbacks, the scenes of society collapsing as more and more succumb to the radiation had me tearing up,!< as it reminded me of my own experiences.
The performances were great, especially with the main 5 (and yes I’m including Krypto when I say that because he’s best boy 🥺), and I don’t think much else needs to be said for the sfx and music that hasn’t been already. And Jason Momoa absolutely proved to me in his very first scene why he’s always been so psyched at the idea of playing Lobo :P
As for the plot beats. I think the biggest point of debate >!is Kara’s choice to kill Krem. This was the one thing I had mixed feelings about, but only because I wished they’d have spent just a little more time talking about it (maybe it’ll be in the director’s cut?). My sense of it was that Kara knew that she herself was already very far gone after all she had been through, and that she made the choice to kill Krem in order to spare Ruthye from any lingering doubts or what-if’s later on. Like, Krem absolutely deserves to get shanked for the insane list of crimes he’s committed. And we already see that Kara is plenty fine with killing people with how many brigands she and Lobo dispatch throughout the film. I just wish Kara and Ruthye could’ve spoken about it a little bit so we could’ve explicitly heard the motivations.!< I don’t think it spoils the film, since Kara’s journey involves balancing both light and dark in order to be good.
But all in all, definitely a great movie in my experience! I’m very excited to see how Milly’s/Kara’s role in Man of Tomorrow goes!
She's in her gladiator era and I love it
People shit on Blizzard for all the skins going to Mercy (which is absolutely fair), but I doubt Pharah is complaining… if ya catch my drift :P

Reminder that Amanda Overton said that Vi canonically doesn’t know what transphobia is as a concept, and that if she ever met a transphobe she’d immediately proceed to deck them in the face 😌✊

Can’t believe us global players are getting denied the masc lesbian pantsuit, and during pride month no less 😭
To be clear, I’m well aware of the dynamics between NetEase and Blizzard and why we aren’t getting the skin. It’s just disappointing that Pharah has been starved of good content for years now 😔
Despite being stealth and having never been clocked in over three years, I’ve always had the insecurity of “oh maybe everyone knows and they’re just not telling me to be nice”, and it’s made me very self-conscious about my appearance.
Cue one of my queer besties inviting me yesterday to model for a photoshoot at a clothing store she works at. Holy shit when I saw the photos, my reaction was the whole Danny Devito “oh my god, I get it”.
A part of me still can’t believe a friend thought I was hot enough to model, but that part is a far quieter today than it has been over the past couple years :3
Like, you’d think she’d have lines about Talon destroying Gibraltar, about old colleagues (talking about some of the new characters like Freja and Emre, not just Ana) coming back into the spotlight, or even with Sierra considering they’re both Helix, but nah.
It’s like she’s stuck in Overwatch 1, save for a handful of lines from the time around launch back in 2023.
Your Honor, they’re bitter divorced exes that love/hate each other.
Happy Pride 🏳️🌈! I find Moira x Mercy rather underrated given how they’re intellectual equals, and yet their paths diverged so radically despite having started from the same place.

I view Scylla from Hades 2 as a trans allegory. And she’s also hopelessly gay for Melinöe, but is too useless to admit it.
It’s been a long while since I last played the mission, but is there any indication that the player character remembers the alternate timeline and the events they experienced?
My first thought was no, because the ending of the mission once you’re back on your own ship is a clear parallel of the ending of “Yesterday’s Enterprise”, where none of the crew of the Enterprise-D, save for Guinan, have even the faintest recollection of the alternate timeline.
But I guess what makes it different is that you get beamed onto the Timeship just before the Enterprise-C enters the anomaly, and that Walker is the one (if I recall correctly) that sends you back to the original timeline. Wouldn’t that introduce the possibility of the player character remembering those events?
Edit: Some extra thoughts I had with the last paragraph
