Looking to rent a car in faro portugal. As a young driver (22) whats the best company to go with?
Ive seen so many reviews of alot of car rental companies that tend to scam their customers with damage claims etc… and it makes me quite anxious. Whats the best company to go with that will accommodate young drivers? (Im happy to pay the young driver fee) and pay for full insurance coverage. My budget is around £600-£800 for 2 weeks.

Ive been reading quite a few reviews of car hire from faro airport and I am a little scared in all honesty.
Im 22 and have been driving for almost 4 years. Im happy to pay the young driver fee. But i have seen so many reviews of rental companies that scam people into paying £££ for damage that was already on the vehicle. Regardless of proof.

Does anyone know if the brake master cylinder on an MK3 TT is direct swappable with a TTS?
I know the bore size is different but, is the part numbers broadly similar? I am looking to put a TTS brake master cylinder in my TT as ive got upgraded calipers, but strugglinh to find part numbers.

Car shaking when put into park gear- when putting it in park in the pitlane?
Mk3 TT S-line quattro, gearbox is a DQ250. It happened once and once only, no error codes, just put the gearstick in park with the engine running and the whole car was shaking a bit. Took it out of park and back into drive, then back into park, car was normal again.
Could it be the gearbox and clutches were hot? I did do a fair few launch starts.

Hello all! After living with this upgrade for a few days, I have some more notes / thoughts on this upgrade that I am happy to share with you all, in case any of you are looking at doing this upgrade for yourselves.
I am happy to answer any questions you have in the comments. (Went from 312mm disks to 345s)
So I have bedded in these brakes using the mintex racing procedure for these pads and I have to say, this definitely felt like a solid upgrade. At first, the pedal will feel spongy and inconsistent as you brake for the first few times. Do not worry! The pads take a little time to align up better with the disks.
I have noticed that ABS barely kicks in anymore, this makes sense as theres more fluid being pushed in the caliper. I havent managed to hit ABS yet, the wheels just stop faster, no tyre squeal, nothing, it feels far more solid than the prior 312mm disks and the braking distance has shortened by quite a bit. These calipers feel like they use up almost all of the performance out of the brake booster.
After they have bedded in, when doing medium to hard braking there is a very subtle vibration and whooshing noise. This is from the slotted rotors scraping away at the pads and cleaning them, as well as air getting between the C hooks and the pads.
Your brake bias will move forwards, so you may feel it become a tiny bit squirrely on the rear, but as long as you keep your steering wheel straight, you will be fine.
Pedal travel -> someone correct me if i am wrong, the biting point of the brake is about 20-30% down the pedal, not at the very top of the pedal like other cars (e.g skoda octavia), I cant tell if this is normal or worse than before, MK3 owners let me know if its the same for you? I may just need a quick re-bleed after bedding them in.
The RS3 brake ducts will fit almost perfectly on your lower control arms. I paired this with the Golf R dust shields behind the disk, and pulled back part of the dust shield that was blocking air flow. Its a small triangular tab but should work fine.
For disks I want with VBT 345mm slotted disks and for pads I went with Mintex racing Mrm1801 pads.

Hi all! Managed to complete my brake upgrades for my mark 3 TT! I have some notes and thoughts to share.
I felt that the standard disks and calipers were far too small to take on track and suffered from brake fade, so I upgraded from 312mm disks to 345mm disks and porsche macan calipers.
You dont need spacers on the 19 inch alloys, suprisingly, you can get away with 5mm of clearance which is more than enough.
Yes these calipers are a direct bolt on option and I will link all the parts I bought below. (I bought the dirtshields separately and didnt think they would fit but they worked!) (340mm golf dirtshields)
The braided lines that come with the calipers fit perfectly. You will need to cut the pad wear sensor off your old pads and bridge the connection so you dont get any errors on the dash. You can tuck these away.

Replacing my oil sump with a new plastic one. Not bothering to upgrade as the plastic one has served me fine for the last 100k miles and I have undertrays on.
Do i use a gasket only? Or gasket and RTV?
