Stuck on probing auto level

While trying to auto level it gets stuck on the probing screen. It’s starts on the left side not even touching the plate. When it moves to the right side it puts too much pressure and makes a jingle and then does nothing. Thats when it gets stuck on the probing screen. I thought it took time so I let it probe over night and when I woke up nothing has changed

I crave a D&D campaign

My campaign will be on hold for 3 weeks. I just started playing and only had 2 days of gameplay. I been really excited about this because I’ve been doing a lot of side work to understand my character.

Having so much fun

I am horrible at D&D, but I’m having much fun. Only have had two days of gameplay and it’s something I look forward to now on the weekends. Everyone gets into character and goes all out. They are very well seasoned players. I’m no where confident or comfortable to go full character. For a long time I thought I was dead weight but after having a breakdown with a few of the players I feel so much better.

Is one set of dice not enough.

My campaign has only had two day. And I already collected 10 sets of dice. I just can’t help myself. I thought one set was all I needed.

Switching class

This is my first time playing and my DM said I can switch classes since they don’t know how to help me out as monk. I don’t want to give up on my monk but if The DM is bring it up should I just listen I don’t want to take away the fun from the other players. We are only on day 2 and out of the two combats I’ve been KO’d both times. The DM also said as long as I am still having fun he will support it.

On another note I saw a TikTok of someone saying the monk doesn’t have to describe their fighting style as Asian martial arts. So I had the idea of a luchador. I ran the idea by the DM and they will allow it. I want to jump off a create and body slam. Grapple and put them in choke hold. I’ve been avoiding using AI but would you deem it ok to input in my combat ideas so I can word them more properly

The way of the monk

What is the best way to learn the best way to use the monk in combat. Is there a good YouTube channel or something that I can use to reference.

BIG THANK YOU

Thank you everyone who has been helping me out as I start this journey. One thing I’ve noticed is that there is a lot of good people community online and in person. I lost my d6 and not know how or when I’ll need it I went to my game store. After speaking with the shop owner and how I’m just starting off and looking to see if they sold loose dice. He just gave me the only d6 he had. It doesn’t match my set what so ever. But it now hold a special meaning and representation of the wholesome and kindness this community is.

Question to DMs from a newbie

The DM and group know I’m very new and never played.
After day one of my campaign I got overwhelmed. I since have spent a lot of time researching and created a Google doc breaking down abilities, move combos and how to better understand my characters. So my question is. Would you allow your players to look at these notes? Would you consider this as taking away from the fun? I don’t plan to or want to always look at my notes. I’m just trying to show that I’m taking this seriously.

Taking notes

This is my first campaign and saw someone taking notes of something. How does one take notes throughout the game. What are taking notes of. Will there references that sometimes happen later in the game. I picked a guy who works in the archives, so I figure that I should be asking questions regarding the towns history and such. I guess it falls on the DM if they want to make references later on.

Need help with my Monk

First time player and just finished my first day of the campaign. I did not do so good and lost all HP with the first enemy. Now that I got a better feel for the game it got me thinking about my subclass. I wanted to be a bard so I can play my bagpipes more often but after doing some surface level research I feel like Way of Mercy is the way to go. I do not know what exactly that means but people says that is what is best for Monk. My DM doesn't know the most about the monk or abilities. Also how do I deal with Ki. I know that all of you will roast me saying something that I'm not meant for the game. I am just trying to play with more confidence and don't feel like I am dragging people behind.

Weird questions for the DM

What are some crazy questions I can ask the DM. It’s my first campaign and I really would like to ask the most random questions. But I know that I need to read the room to see how serious the other veteran players are taking the campaign.
-Can I ask if I can bonk the head of a teammate.
-Can I ask if I’m I can serenade group with a bagpipe solo before entering battle.
-Can I ask if the statue was a real person for every statue we encounter.
-If I’m a halfling can I try and do jump scares.
-If we enter bar can I ask if there is light beer available
-if we are entering battle can I entertain the idea of creating peace.

Need help on my character sheet(2014)

This is my first campaign and the math is confusing on my abilities. I know we’re are playing 2014 and not 2025. I don’t want to annoy my DM with so many questions.

u/ThinYak2597 — 26 days ago

First campaign advice

For species I picked halfling. Never played DnD and finally got the guts to join a campaign. I am only one of two new to DnD players. The DM has been very helpful helping try understand what is going on and how to fill the character chard. In the first meeting we just went through character development. I still am very lost and would like to have a better understanding so I don’t feel like I’m holding everyone back from the game. How bad did I fuck my character.

Help Me Find This Hot Chocolate

2 years ago I stayed at The ASH. Every night I would go to the bar on floor 0 and would order a hot chocolate. This was one of my favorite hot chocolate that I have ever had. Now that I am back in the United States I dream of this hot chocolate. All that I could recall is that I came in a powder and was in a yellow box. Please help me find it. I tried googling it and all I get is some US processed Belgium Hot Chocolate.
