Can I pay my tithing to any organization?
Hey all basically the title. Am I able to pay my tithing to other charity-like organizations? Or am I even allowed to take my 10% of what I earned and buy stuff myself and then give them to the needy? Will I still be able to get a temple recommend whenever they ask the "are you a full tithe payer" question? Thanks in advance.

Does it get better?
I'm almost 21. A few years ago I told myself on my 21st birthday if things weren't better I would kill myself. It's about a month away. Despite me wanting to do it I can't. The only reason I don't do it is because of how scary the whole idea is. And also what if I survive with bad damage. I just wish I could die in some other way. My whole life has been hell, but these past few years in particular have been the worst I've ever had. I really really want it to get better, I was in a good place for a year or two, but I don't know if I can ever get back to that point. My mental health has ruined everything in my life. I can't do things I enjoy or even relax because of my mental health. The life I want to live is impossible due to how my mental health has been since I was a child. I want it to get better but I don't know if it will.

Anyone else think maid jax is weird
I could be out of line in this but it low-key feels like fetish content being snuck into the show. Am I the only one?
Got some questions/thoughts for both members and non members
I've tried asking these questions before in the main LDS sub but they always get removed lol. Like the title states I wasnt perspectives from both groups. I believe this sub is probably the best in regards to the demographics of people I need answers from. I grew up in the church and am having a faith crisis and these are some of my most troubling questions.
Tithing seems like it is gatekeeping people from the temple. In the temple recommend interviews you have to say you are a full tithe payer to access the temple. I understand the principle of tithing and I think it can be great, but I think it all comes down to the agency of the person. Gatekeeping someone from the temple for that reason seems insane to me. What do you think is the meaning behind this?
Why is there like no focus on Jesus? Granted there is quite a bit but it all seems to be about the leaders of the church. Jesus is far more important to me than the current president of the church. Honestly for me I just see them as the CEO's of the church. They lead but should never be the main focus Jesus should be. NGL I'd even go as far as saying the leaders are out of touch with the struggles of the members. They are old people who know nothing about the struggles of those younger than them.
Why can't we critique the church? Now I know this can be more of a gray area depending on a persons life circumstances. But it feels like in the culture you can't speak out against things that 100% need to be addressed. Obviously us "commoners" won't get excommunicated for saying things about the church(although you will get shunned by the masses) but if you have a voice and a platform the church will shut it down, even if you are meaning well. I am a firm believer that anything can be critisized that is how you make things better. Seems weird to not be able to do such things.
Its been 6 years and I still am unsure if it is SA
I'd like to first say please be brutally honest with me about this. I would hate to say I was SAed if I really wasn't.
We were both 15. I met John(Not real name) and we got along really quickly, too quickly. We texted a lot but the first time we met up we made out. I was young and dumb and was totally cool with it. Over a few months I heavily discussed my boundaries with him. It was a frequent point of discussion. He knew damn well. I was religious back then and I made it pretty clear I don't wanna have sex before marriage and no sexual or inappropriate touching other than kissing, holding hands etc.
Now with that background out of the way I'll tell you about the night I believe I was SA'ed. We were at a school dance and he was very touchy and affectionate which I was okay with it had not crossed any lines. Then we started kissing some teacher walked by and told us to cut it out. So he kinda lead me out of the way near the outdoor bathrooms. There was like nobody there. He has pinned me against the wall and started kissing me like crazy. I was getting uncomfy at this point but was too scared to say anything. Then I felt it. It was his hand going under my shirt cupping my boob. I was freaked out to say the least. I was calculating my next steps and I didn't know what to do. Then I felt him other hand reach down my pants he was touching my butt. At that point I pushed him off. I honestly don't remember what I said but I remember I went to go back to the crowd but there was a fence blocking me. I eventually found my way back to the crowd I was walking/running off as he was tailing behind me saying things I still don't remember. Once I got near the crowd again I stopped and let him catch up to me. I told him off for told him he knew what my standards are and you violated them. HE gave a sorry and said "lets try this again" and reached for me to kiss me. I said "NO" he walked after me as I was looking for my friends.
I dragged my friends off to the bathroom area to tell them what had happened. After I told them what happened we left the bathroom and he was pacing around the bathroom almost like he was waiting for me? Anyways that is my story. I still don't know if that was SA. Like I said please be brutally honest with me. I don't want to label myself as a person who has been SA'ed if that isn't true. Thank you in advance.
How much did your program cost?
Basically the title. Just curious. I know that community colleges where I am are pretty cheap but the wait times are insane. There are lots of for profit schools near me which have insane prices but are pretty much for anyone to go to. For those who went to the for profit schools do you regret it? How long did it take for you to pay it off? Thanks in advance.
Questions I'm too afraid to ask.
I first off want to say I don't mean this in a mean way I just genuinely am wondering. If this gets a little too intense MODS feel free to do what you need to do. So I have a few questions/concerns.
1: Why do we have to specifically wear garments? I obviously understand the why and the significance of the markings. But theoretically the garments could be a literal spaghetti strap shirt and it would be fine. Or they could even be given as a tattoo on to the body. I already know that in the future if or when I get endowed garments will be a struggle for me. Not because I don't dress modestly but because I have POTS and get overheated very easily and it caused me horrible symptoms, and also I have OCD that revolves around sensory issues and garments will be a nightmare. I also don't understand why God would even care about what underclothes I wear.
2: Am I wrong from not completely loving the leadership of the church? Many see them as perfect men and I'm sure they are very good people. But I also see their flaws. I think that older people are oblivious to the things younger people are going through and I think that still applies to the top leaders of our church. I feel the church kinda acts more like a corporate entity sometimes. I have never really gotten anything out of having these leaders in my life. I see them merely as organizers for the church and the CEO's.
3: Why does it feel like we can't critique the church without getting in trouble. For example John Delin( I think that is how you spell his name) has gotten sued by the church. Now I don't agree with what he says but I think it is a bit overkill to sue him. It feels like you can't call out things that need to be changed. I think that nothing is free from getting critqued. That is how you make things better. This seems to happen only to those who have lots of people listening to them, like people who have a social media following.
[ALL] What Zelda name would you give your kid?
Basically the title. Like obviously I think naming a kid something super obvious from the series or something they could get made fun of isn't ideal.
Edit: This is just kinda for fun I don't have a baby on the way nor do I have plans for that soon.
Me at my worst
Thankfully I'm doing much better now. But dang looking back is rough.
You chose to have sex......
Obviously in those who didn't my heart goes out to them. But two wrongs don't make a right. Anyways I hate it when people say that they didn't consent to get pregnant. Like are you serious? You consented to the possibility when you had sex. The majority of abortions that occur are in essence a form of birth control. Only a small amount of abortions are incest and rape related. It's so frustrating because if you're having sex you better be prepared for even the possibility of getting pregnant. That's why in my opinion it's best to have a long term and stable partner to have sex with. Make sure the person you're having sex with is a safe person in case pregnancy occurs.
This websites shows live updates of abortions this year alone.

It updates in real time and it's truly sick watching the numbers go up every second.
