How Many Iron Hill dwarfs do I need?

Hi! so I have currently procured a certain amount of Iron Hills and I want to expand. So the queation is, other than Vehicles, how many infantry guys, Commando squads or Cav do I need to allow me balance, diversity and range while building an army

20 mattocks? Or are 10 enough? 30 spears, or would 20 suffice?

Thank you guys for helping <3

Wishlisting for Khazalid Holds

Hello there fellow Duardin.

With the rumoured second coming of our Lord and Saviour Grungni I want to start speculation the art direction for this faction

So first off I want our main guys to be Miners or builders, to emphasize our mission to reclaim holds. With builders having the once-per-game option of building a barrier. Miners should deepstrike 10" away from enemies.

Secondly I want a baggage train, Either hauled by animals (Yaks?) or machines. For that I want: Offensive Troop carrier and maybe something else?

Thirdly, I feel like its time for us to get Golems. 3 heavy infantry Golems

For a centrepiece I either want an Anvil of Doom, an Avatar of Grungni or Both in one

I want a return of the Wardenking and Runelord

And a gunline. And maybe cannons?

Maybe one elite troop, maybe hammerer equivalent.

For fyreslayers I'd want Gotrek Unleashed, Avatar of Grimnir, in his proper godly fiery glory.

Vostroyan Lord Solar

Although it's kind of been done before I was able to get my parts, I was finally able to build my very own rendition of the Lord Solar!

On the basis of Tsar Boris of Kislev, I got myself a few bits from the Vostroyan Sergeant with Plasmagun and Powersword, plus a Space Wolf Thunderwolf Leg.

Putting this model on an elevated base made from Citadel Osgiliath Floor and Ramparts Cathedral, I achieved a look which is imposing and playable, casting aside every accusation of basing for advantage (quite the opposite in fact).

This has been a fun build. I will enjoy painting it once the glue has dried. In the last few pictures you can see the Hussars he will be riding alongside of, plus and Vostroyani-fied Commisar, waiting for their (final) coats of paint.

Enjoy!!

About the Return of Grungni and the Khazalid holds

Hello there, wary traveller and kin of beard and spirit (or as some brethren would say; Rock and Stone).

After many travels across the Realms, I, Thurvin of Clan Frostbeard, have finally returned to these hallowed halls. It is with great pleasure and hope, I come to discuss rumours and signs of my Kin finally uniting under our Ancestor Grungni, to retake our homes.

returning to our point

Hi c: I come again, to gather and discuss my favourite topics in the whole of AoS: Duardin, Dispossessed Clans and Grungni.

To adress the obvious: reliable rumour-mongeres have prophezised a return of Grungni with a new kind of Dwarfs, merged with the Fyreslayers. We are not here to discuss the model or tabletop side of this, but to look into the implication lorewise.

There absolutely has been massive build up of this happening. Even more than with the Hellsmiths of Hashut.

So one of the first AoS books called 'Spear of Shadows' started introducing of Dispossessed/Grungni working together with Fyreslayers to secure a future.

Same with the second Ed Fyreslayer Codex, which introduced a intercultural council, consisting of Dispossessed, Fyreslayers and Kharadon. We then got the first Gotrek and Grombrindal books, both following the themes of leaving some traditions (re grudges) behind to work a shard goal.

Grungni returned to a more hands on fashion, aboard a kharadron ship helping Sigmar make a new kind of Stormcast before vanishing in his old forges 'to work on something new' this was 3rd edition.

4th edition then got us the Helsmiths, hinting on a grand reaction to Hashuts stirring. Parallel to that, the CoS Battletome mentions that the dispossessed clans have mostly left the Cities to the call of Grungni and the promise of retaking the old homes.

So a merger of some fashing has been brewing for nearly 7 years now, getting only more concrete by the minute. Keeping KO and FS seperate makes sense since the former reject gods mostly while the latter try to reconstruct theirs. Thematically its shaping up to be beautiful.

What other sources have you to back up tgis reading of mine; or even refute it? Have I missread to signs? How do you view this possible upcoming merger?

How to upgrade Shadow Collective to a starter set - List Ideas needed

Hello there!

So my girlfriend decided to take the plunge into SW legion with Obi Wans 212th and the starter set!

So I wanted to get myself a nice Shadow Collective army to counter that

I now have that set + the Weequay Pirates (because Hondo is the goat)

So I was wondering, to upgrade it to a starter, what models would be needed, what units should I get.

How do I keep my Shadow Collective competitive to her GAR Starter?

Since my CoS army is heavily inspired by Kislev and Polish/Ukranian Folklore, I am considering making my Cogfort resemble Baba Yaga's private Domicile.

How would I achieve that? Any STLs worth considering? Especially the feet?
