Formula 1 quartz (movement)

Formula 1 quartz (movement)

Hello there watch bro's,

I rly like this F1 quartz, I have a chance to buy it locally, a lot cheaper than MSRP.

But as far as I know, there are a lot of rly good reps of this & similar models around, even with the same swiss movement as the original.

Can anyone share pictures from the original watch/movement? Is movement held by a plastic spacer from the case?

What watch is Sergej Barbarez, Bosnia coach wear?

Hello there,

Any way to identify this watch that Bosnia's coach Sergej Barbarez is wearing at World Cup? Unfortunately I could not find the dial picture. Seems like Brietling?

Hamilton Khaki Automatic

Hello there watch bro's & sis's,

I need help identifying this watch. I'm planning to buy it, but can't find an exact reference of it? On caseback (glass it's 041531), is that the only reference for this one?

Looking for watch factory recommendations for a new microbrand.

Hello there,

I’ve been obsessed with watches ever since I got my first one about 35 years ago. Since then, hundreds of watches have passed through my hands—cheap, expensive, replicas, originals, Swiss, Japanese, and recently, Chinese. Some are still in my collection, some were sold, some ended up in the trash, and others were gifted to people dear to me.

A few years ago, I wanted to take the leap and start my own microbrand. I had the design in mind, the specs mapped out, and was just starting to research manufacturing options when COVID-19 hit. Everything ground to a halt. After the pandemic, my career took off in a completely different industry, and with promotions and more responsibilities, my dream was put on the back burner.

Well, now I finally have the time, and the dream is very much alive.

While I want to keep the design under wraps for now, I can share some of the specs and materials I’m aiming for: Sapphire crystal with AR coating; Steel case with DLC, hardened steel, titanium with DLC, or potentially ceramic; Swiss or Japanese chronograph (advanced quartz or solar); 100m – 200m water resistance.

It’s a big world aka massive market, and I believe there’s always room for a unique new microbrand.

I would highly appreciate any advice or recommendations for reliable watch factories in Europe or Asia that can deliver high-quality manufacturing (either full assembly or just the cases and dials, as I can source & assemble the movements separately). To maintain high quality control, I’m looking to partner directly with established manufacturing facilities rather than sourcing through Alibaba or similar platforms.

Thanks in advance for your help and advice!

Top 10 Reasons to buy the Royal Pop

  1. Because nothing will bothers an AP owner more than a Swatch getting attention.

  2. Bright colors just to remind AP owners the world doesn’t need another “tasteful” blue dial.

  3. People writing essays in the comments explaining why your plastic watch offends them is free entertainment.

  4. There’s a decent chance more people ask about yours than the guy wearing a $50k Royal Oak.

  5. Nothing exposes watch insecurity faster than someone getting angry over a Swatch.

  6. Walking into an AP boutique and asking, “So this is basically the same thing, right?”

  7. Calling it your Royal Oak and acting confused when someone corrects you.

  8. Telling AP owners, “Honestly, from across the room they kinda have the same vibe.”

  9. Posting a wrist shot with: Saved myself $48,000 and still got compliments.

  10. Saying, “I actually like this better. I can wear it without checking for scratches every 10 minutes.”

Hello there,

Just wanted to share my opinion about the topic. After much thought & owning many watches of many quality brands (IWC, Tissot, Hamilton, Seiko & Citizen) - I have come to the conclusion that Citizen is the champion in the price/quality ratio category.

What does that mean? Citizen is the best watch? Absolutely NO. I like all the previously mentioned brands. Some of them are amazing (IWC for example) but also, the price is bigger 10-15x times.

That's why Citizen IS THE BEST watch when you analyze how much you get - for how much you pay for.

Almost all models are Eco Drive movements which are, again, champions in the solar watch technology.

Many models are from high quality materials like titanium + some protective coating.

When we speak about automatics, I just think about Tsuyosa. Man, such a beautiful and quality watch for 250-300€?

That's Citizen.
