Unofficial 2026 Horrorlit BINGO~

Edit: I kind of want to do a prize for the first person with proof of a full black out board to win something.

Maybe a bookmark with with favorite bookcover on it plus personalized? Possibly a sticker sheet too? Maybe a greeting card also? I could do a pencil pouch also stating you are the winner of the 2026 horrorlit bingo game. Idk what do you guys think? I'm a crafter so I like making stuff like that. Maybe a gift card to thriftbooks too?

Proof would be reviews on SG or GR or social posts or photos of books, proof of borrowing etc I guess.

Not sure what to flair this, but I've made an unofficial 2026 Horror lit Bingo.

Emphasis on the unofficial, I am not a mod, just a user and thought this would be fun!

Do not come for me!

I don't want a Mac, I don't want an ai powered laptop, I don't want a chrome book.

Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US:

Around $600 USD

Are you open to refurbs/used?

Yes, it's likely all I can afford.

How would you prioritize form factor (Ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life?

Performance first, Build quality second, Battery life third (I will use from home 90% of time w/display monitors.)

How important is weight and thinness to you?

Not super important.

Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.

I want it big enough to have a number pad on the keyboard.

Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.

I will do light photo editing with Krita. Medium video editing with wondershare filmora. Super light "gaming" (those find it games).

If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?

I only play find it games from BigFish sometimes.

Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?

I need to be able to attach it my display monitors I already have. I have a hub for the monitors that connects via USB C to a laptop.

Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.

I will mostly be doing very regular stuff. I have an external hard drive that I keep all my art and video files on.

I previously had 2 options to choose from but one is now not available any more.

Are HP laptops reliable, I don't really trust HP based on their printers.

What about these other brands, like Metra, MSI, or GIGABYTE? Are those okay?

Indigent - Briana N Cox - review

5 stars!! 🌟

This book dug in from page one and did not let go.

The writing in this is so immersive that I felt everything happening in real time. Cox knows how to not only tell a story, but how to pull you in and make you feel the story.

I felt all the dread our MMC felt and I slowly slipped into madness along side him.

I love Black horror with Black Characters that don't shy away from the reality of living as a Black person in America on top of the horrors in the book.

This is what I want in my Black horror. I don't want to just know the characters are Black, I want them to feel Black too.

I have no notes. This was a wonderful, gritty, messy, gross, sad, creepy, skin crawling, lovely read. I cannot wait to see what this author does next.

Would recommend!

Thank you NetGalley and Briana N Cox for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

I want some friends! Where are ya'll at??

I'm ALOT, I know this, I know I'm not everyone's cup of tea. I have very strong morals and I don't compromise them. I have been radical my whole life, I was raised that way, and I'm proud of it. If I'm not for you, that's okay, I get it.

I'm a part of "actually asexual" if that upsets you, ignore my post please.

I'm aroace, Black, and in my lower 30's.

Politically:

-It's always free Palestine, Congo, Sudan, Haiti, Tigray in my house!

-Eat the rich, yes that includes your favorite celebrity. Billionaires are gross, every, single, one.

-I'm not a "safe space" for white people, I will say what I want when I want.

-Soulaan/Black American culture is closed, all of it, this is not up for debate. If you invite people to the non-existent cookout, please do not talk to me.

-How you treat the homeless is a big show of your character. If I have cash, I'm most likely giving it to someone homeless.

-Musicians that are abusers are not to played in my presence. I will not listen to them and I'm judging you if you do.

-Voting in local elections is the most important voting you will do.

-Children deserve to be protected.

Okay, now on to fun stuff:

Hobbies - art, reading (love horror, literary, contemporary, and SSF), concerts, markets, going to coffee shops, doing jigsaw puzzles, crafting, movies, thrifting.

Random:

I'm witchy, I don't claim any religion.

I like metal, women rappers, folk, and emo music.

I'm wearing all black 95% of the time.

My love languages are gift giving and acts of service.

I have two cats.

Idk, my profile is not private, poke around and judge me lol.

I'm in NC, but I was born and raised in NY in the hood so I have a very northern demeanor.

Please keep it respectful. :)

I've been a fanfic reader since I was like 11, I'm 33 now, so I'm not going to stop anytime soon lol.

I'm wondering how asexual fanfic readers feel about the sex scenes featured in most fanfiction?

For me personally, I skip 95% of the sex scenes and just enjoy the rest of fic. For the few times I actually read or skim them, it's bc there's actual plot stuff happening and I have no choice or I'll miss character or story development.

It doesn't bother me that there's so much bc I've been reading them for so long I'm just used to it. I'm able to skip them and still enjoy the story.

I'm curious what other asexual fanfic readers think or how you read them?

Does it annoy you guys as much as me that everyone assumes fanfic readers are smut addicts?

Keep it cute and respectful please~

Edit: typos
