Went to Pride today, was barely any ace merch to buy.

Anyone else experience this?

I went to Pride and I wanted to buy a large fan (the Boots on the Ground kind lol), and the vendor had every flag except ace, aro, and aroace.

After that I decided to look around to see if it was a trend this year, and yup. Most vendors had no ace merch.

This is why I always feel so disconnected from the LGBTQIA+ community.

Love the community in general, but I know I'm not exactly welcome.

I did find a lady selling knit merch that had ace colors, got me a bikini top shirt and hat, but she was selling outside of Pride in front of a food market hall.

Any alternatives to the HP Smart App that work?

I have been searching for hours and I cannot find anything that will work 😭 (why do search engines not really work anymore πŸ€”πŸ€”).

I have: Dell Laptop & HP 7602r Tank printer

I print art prints and such for my in person markets.

I hate the HP Smart app, it misaligned my prints, every single time! I can never get my prints to come out correctly when I use it. I am tired of wasting paper and ink.

I recently removed it form my laptop and have just been using windows print & scan, but I cannot set the quality to "Best" with that and I only have 3 options for paper type.

-

I need any help you can offer.

I have tried, Google, HP threads, random lists from websites, and I cannot find a solution.

Am I forever doomed to have misaligned prints or aligned prints that aren't printing as their best quality?

Is their some third part software I can use? An app in the windows store?

Edit: By "prints misaligned", I meant it cuts off the bottom. Sometimes it prints 3/4 up and cuts off the top. It has never happened when I remove HP smart, it only happens when I use the app to print.

I guess I should say it prints too high or too low, never the whole print on the page like it shows in the print preview. I have the correct size, output, and paper type selected. It's the correct size and is centered correctly on the paper, but it prints either too high or too low and cuts of 1/3 of either the top or bottom.

Anyone know any Black novels I can back on Kickstarter?

I've been into backing Kickstarters lately.

I'm already backing this one: The Obsidian Princess: A Queer Black Fairy Tale, I guess I can't post links, my previous post was auto deleted by reddit.

But it's so hard to find projects I actually want to back on there. I saw a few Christian romances, and I'm not super into romance and I'm not into Christian lit at all.

I really love horror, Speculative, Literary, middle grade, literary, and graphic novels (not so much comic books though).

If anyone knows any Kickstarters or any other types of Kickstart esq sites where I can back a Black book please send them my way. I like art stuff too, pins, badges, etc. I'm open to those too if you know any!

Or if you know a Black indie horror author send them my way as well, I'm always looking for those!

I was wrong but I'm leaving this community anyways, silencing is hard pass for me!

So instead of arguing I went direct to the author to figure out if I was wrong or not.

I can admit that I was wrong, I have no issue with that.

I do take issue with authors using vague language around race that causes these issues in the first place, like why did I have to dig for that?

What I do have an issue with is the mods of this community deleting my post bc apparently saying biracial and mono-racial Black are two different things, is wrong. My bad, I didn't know it was 1902 and we still followed the racist "one drop" rule like Black blood is a taint.

Next time a racially ambiguous Biracial person plays a Black person in a movie or show don't get mad. See: Zoe Saldana playing Nina Simone in full Black face.

To the Mods: I LITERALLY said Afro-Latinos are Black in my post that got removed but okay.

I LITERALLY said Biracial is not a bad word!

I LITERALLY said Hispanic is not a race bc it's not. Of you don't know that I can't help you.

If the hill you want to die on is the "one drop" rule, you're anti-Black. Period. ✌🏾

And yes, I did want to see what I looked like darker skinned, I'm literally Black how is that wrong? I can't want to know what I would look with dark skin? I'm light skinned, I was curious, Lmao okay, burn me at the stake then.

I'm perfectly happy with what I look like, I know I'm cute, but I wondered what I'd look like with darker skin. I even told one of the people to abort the mission if it started to look like Black face.

I don't have any shame in my posts, that's why my profile isn't private. But I bet you thought you took me down by saying that. Lol. You'll have find someone less confident to do that.

It was fun in this community for a bit, but I'm not with that silencing bs. ✌🏾✌🏾✌🏾

Ya'll, is this rude?

Shelly Page is a Black author, I recently read one of her books, and while I enjoyed it, I noticed she never has two fully Black main characters (she's only written two books so far). I commented this on her Insta, is this rude? lol

EDIT: Since the general consensus was that it's rude (and I'm not arguing against that, I'm mostly arguing with people that are acting like they don't know Biracial, racially ambiguous, mixed, and Black aren't all different things!) I have removed the comment.

It's not hard yall: Race is a social construct. If you're not visibly Black, you're not socially Black. Meaning, say it with me class, you're not Black.
If you have to show me a picture of your parent, grandparent, etc. to prove your race, you've already proven my point.

Ya'll act like Biracial or racially ambiguous is a bad word, it's not.

Do you always read and review before the publish date?

My bio says that I read and review on or before publish date. And so far, that has been true. But I have one now that I did not make the deadline on. It'll be in the publish week at least, but not before it's published.

But, I also don't think this book is going to be a high rating tbh. The writing is kind of subpar so far unfortunately.

If I have a low review, I imagine not having it written before the book comes out is actually better for the publisher/author, no?

What social media or other sites do you share your art on for community?

Repost, bc I did it incorrectly the first time lol. Most of my art is trad a few are digital.

Has anyone found a good social media to post art that isn't Instagram?

I was wanting to go back to Cara, does anyone use that? I just want to have fun posting my art again without being on these garbage social media sites and ai farmers.

I want an art community again, I used to have one on insta but insta has changed so much, I don't feel community there anymore.

Anyone know what logo this is? It it even a logo?

I found this in the Goodwill and bought it bc I love checkered patterns. But I don't actually know what logo this is, it might not even be a logo, it could just be a design.

But the tag has faded away so I'm not sure. Any help is appreciated!

Mp3 player that syncs to computer program like iTunes and ipods?

Hi! I currently have a innioasis Y1, but it operates like a flash drive when trying to connect to car or when adding music.

Are there any mp3 players that work like ipods used to? I want a computer program, like itunes, that I can organize, make playlists on, etc, that syncs with my mp3.

I would also love to have features like "play next" or "add to que" on the player itself.

And I want the songs to show up on my car display when connected via Bluetooth or aux.

My current player can do none of this. I was drawn to the nostalgic feel of the Y1, but I'm not actually enjoying using it.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Unofficial 2026 Horrorlit BINGO~

Edit: I kind of want to do a prize for the first person with proof of a full black out board to win something.

Maybe a bookmark with with favorite bookcover on it plus personalized? Possibly a sticker sheet too? Maybe a greeting card also? I could do a pencil pouch also stating you are the winner of the 2026 horrorlit bingo game. Idk what do you guys think? I'm a crafter so I like making stuff like that. Maybe a gift card to thriftbooks too?

Proof would be reviews on SG or GR or social posts or photos of books, proof of borrowing etc I guess.

Not sure what to flair this, but I've made an unofficial 2026 Horror lit Bingo.

Emphasis on the unofficial, I am not a mod, just a user and thought this would be fun!

I don't want a Mac, I don't want an ai powered laptop, I don't want a chrome book.

Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US:

Around $600 USD

Are you open to refurbs/used?

Yes, it's likely all I can afford.

How would you prioritize form factor (Ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life?

Performance first, Build quality second, Battery life third (I will use from home 90% of time w/display monitors.)

How important is weight and thinness to you?

Not super important.

Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.

I want it big enough to have a number pad on the keyboard.

Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.

I will do light photo editing with Krita. Medium video editing with wondershare filmora. Super light "gaming" (those find it games).

If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?

I only play find it games from BigFish sometimes.

Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?

I need to be able to attach it my display monitors I already have. I have a hub for the monitors that connects via USB C to a laptop.

Β

Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.

I will mostly be doing very regular stuff. I have an external hard drive that I keep all my art and video files on.

I previously had 2 options to choose from but one is now not available any more.

Are HP laptops reliable, I don't really trust HP based on their printers.

What about these other brands, like Metra, MSI, or GIGABYTE? Are those okay?
