denied for credit card...?

I applied for one of the US bank cards, the one with the $250 bonus as i wanted to buy some stuff and get some cash back.

The application was fine, unfroze my credit, the credit pull happened. Then i was hit with with the whole "we need more information screen, you'll hear from us".

I tried to call them, cannot get through as the hold time is 3+ hours. Today i get a letter saying i am denied due to "lack of information".

My credit is 800+, i already have the Kroger card which is through US Bank. Why would i get denied because of lack of information?

I've already moved on, just curious why this would happen. I haven't been denied for a credit card in over 10-15 years.

Can someone explain the SpaceX IPO please

I am curious how this raises money and what happens to the stock when it goes live.

It is IPO’ing at $135 a share with 555,555,555 shares available, which all add up to the $75b Musk is looking to raise.

How does this get calculated exactly? Does everyone have to buy every share to hit that target? If all the shares were bought before the stock went live, does the price stay at $135 with no shares available, or does the price start to go up as the stock becomes more scarce?

What about private investors? Can they sell their stock the second the ticker goes live in the market?

Thanks for explaining

Bought NASA and WARP

10 shares of each to dip my feet in.

With the SpaceX IPO on the horizon, space may be the next big market.

What do you guys think? Good or bad investment?

What would happen if a chick fil a was open on a sunday?

is this like an actual policy you have to follow. or is it more of a tradition at this point? more modern consensus in the christian sphere suggests that the sabbath is actually saturday instead of sunday.

are there any punishments for being open on a sunday? most of the time when i want chick fil a, i wnt to go in a sunday and get hosed

I want to start investing but am terrified

i know my strategy is to go all in on VT for a 20-25 year time span to build up some retirement savings in a roth IRA, however i am terrified of putting any money in.

i look at trends and how well ETF do over the years. the likes of VT, VTI etc always go up in value, but anytime i put money in, i get cold feet the second it drops and want to pull it all out.

how do i get past this fear of losing money? social security may not even be there when i would retire which would be 25-30 years. i need to have some kind of nest egg to prepare for the worst.

thank you for the advice!

Edit: thank you everyone for the wisdom and encouragement. I have decided to start the investment journey with VT.

Thanks again!

have a 2018 Rav4 at 87k miles. Want to get the transmission fluid changed but i don't want it be a flush. Research i did says these ones need a drain and refill.

I called Dusty's in Central Point who specialize in transmissions, but they want $450 to do it which seems a bit steep.

Wondering if anyone can provide other local recommendations that can do this, or if a Toyota dealer would be the best way to go.

Thanks!

like many others, i got caught up in the whole Outlook outage today. tried several times to sign in to my accounts and it would work for a short time, and then break again.

on iPhone or Android, there is an app in the app/play store that works as a 2FA method. it has you verify with biometrics and then lets you pick a number out of 3 options. way faster than having to use your password or phone number.

it will also stop hackers from getting into your email, which only requires your email address and password to see.

there are a lot of authenticator apps in the stores. make sure it says its the one from Microsoft.
