Kitchen reno before and after!

Wanted to share our kitchen reno - I'm so proud of the work my hubby did couldn't be happier with how it has turned out. We still have a few minor pieces left to complete (range hood and some lights, etc) but I'd love to hear people's thoughts!

Black Forest Villa

Hidden deep within a dense pine forest, Black Forest Villa is designed to embrace its surroundings rather than dominate them. Charred timber cladding, expansive glazing, and carefully composed lighting create a calm architectural presence that blends seamlessly into the woodland.

This presentation explores the project through cinematic perspectives, intimate material studies, and atmospheric moments, revealing how light, texture, and nature shape the experience of living in the forest. We wanted to present this project from a different perspective—focusing not only on the architecture itself, but on the emotions, atmosphere, and everyday moments that define the space.

The Mian Villa

Conceived as a space between presence and absence, the project reframes architecture as a tool for revealing the qualities of a place, allowing the landscape to become the primary focus of the experience.

A timeless streetscape in Ginzan Onsen, Yamagata, Japan

Location: Ginzan Onsen, Obanazawa, Yamagata Prefecture, Japan.

There's something special about this streetscape. The traditional wooden ryokan, layered rooflines, and warm lanterns create a welcoming atmosphere that has remained largely unchanged for generations.

What stands out most is how the architecture works with its surroundings instead of competing with them. Set against a backdrop of dense forest, the buildings feel like a natural extension of the landscape. The consistent use of materials, thoughtful proportions, and fine craftsmanship give the entire street a sense of harmony that is both timeless and inviting. It's a great example of how architecture can preserve history while creating a place people genuinely enjoy experiencing.

Clean lines, warm materials, timeless living in urban renewal project by Antalya

Located in the heart of Yeşilbahçe, Muratpaşa one of Antalya’s well-established residential areas this project is a boutique-scale urban renewal development designed to bring modern, functional living to the city center.

The project comprises a total of 13 residential units, including six 2-bedroom apartments, three 3-bedroom apartments, and four spacious 4-bedroom duplex penthouses. Each unit has been thoughtfully planned to meet the diverse needs of contemporary urban families.

The apartment shown in the renderings is a 2 bedroom unit, where we embraced a warm and neutral color palette to create a welcoming and timeless atmosphere. The interior design was approached with flexibility in mind, allowing future residents the freedom to adapt and personalize their living space as they wish.

This project reflects a careful balance of modern aesthetics, livability, and practical design offering a new, sustainable chapter for one of Antalya’s central neighborhoods.

Casa Batlló, Barcelona. The building was built in 1877. It was a classical building without remarkable characteristics. It was redesigned in 1904 by Gaudí and has been refurbished several times after that. Casa Batlló is identifiable as Modernisme or Art Nouveau in the broadest sense.

Elevated heritage residence with vernacular detailing

This residence demonstrates a clear influence of traditional Filipino bahay na bato architecture, expressed through its elevated main floor and articulated façade. The upper level is defined by a series of tall, grid-patterned windows with fanlight details, promoting natural lighting and cross ventilation.

A covered porch accessed by an exterior stair functions as a transitional space, reinforcing the connection between the street and the interior. Decorative woodwork, extended roof eaves, and wrought-iron railings contribute to the building’s character while providing practical responses to the tropical climate.

The composition highlights the integration of vernacular elements within a contemporary residential context, maintaining both functional performance and architectural continuity.

Four 40-Foot Containers Form a Sleek Scandinavian Retreat in Rural Sweden

Set in the quiet countryside near Norrtälje, Sweden, this contemporary home reimagines four 40-foot shipping containers as a refined 108 m² residence designed for year-round comfort. Clad in a combination of powder-coated steel and weathering Corten, the structure balances industrial character with Nordic restraint. Inside, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an open-plan living area unfold beneath carefully insulated walls engineered for the Scandinavian climate. Expansive glazing connects the interior to a timber terrace and surrounding landscape, while a green roof terrace offers elevated views of the serene setting. Equipped with smart-home technology and thoughtful detailing, the house demonstrates how modular construction can deliver both architectural elegance and practical livability. https://www.prefabcontainerhomes.org/2018/09/beautiful-4x40-ft-shipping-container.html

Recent practice work in Container Home Design Visualization

I started with a simple container design and did the visualization.

This is an early-stage personal exercise—open to any thoughts or ideas.
