What will I do about my son?

My son is 23 years old. He wants me to call him Samantha and go by she/her. He grew up liking basketball, football and pro wrestling. Then one day he got into MMORPGS. He created a male character at first. Then after a few months he created nothing but female characters in every game he played.

He told me a friend he met on Final Fantasy 14 helped him realize he was a girl. My son is disabled and has never been much of a girl until now. He claims he always wanted to be a girl, but hid it from me. He says his dad never allowed him to transition. (His father is no longer with us. So he cannot confirm or deny this statement.) Clearly my son is deeply confused. And I feel like pretending, lying, or otherwise misleading him with pronouns that feel fake and inauthentic is just wrong. This is so emotionally distressing for me, why can't he see that?

/uj it's over, we found the worst cisparenttranskid post. It's all verbatim except the last sentence, which was "I can't stop crying about this" or smth

I'm not a transmed

I just think that only true transsexuals should transition. is that so wrong? I literally have no idea what you're talking about.

/qj "transsexuals" is the closest that I'm getting to saying a slur on this sub because I'm a fake trans so I can't reclaim anything

Cool beetleweight render?

I'll definitely thin the metal plates if I build it irl because for some reason I thought it would be a good idea to have .119" aluminum plates. Obviously that would never make weight and be terrible lol.

Cis people can call trans people slurs if the thing they're saying could vaguely be interpreted as a compliment

okay, you can be emotional about this for no reason or you can actually critically think about what the cis person is doing. The cis  Person is old. That was how they talked about trans people back in the day. So he probably means nothing by it. He probably even had trans friends back in the day, and is just talking like he normally does. Because we could never ever ask an ally to change any part of their behavior whatsoever, because that means that they might become transphobic and we would all lose our rights and it would be all because of you.

This egg discourse has me thinking...could there be something in between okay and evil?

like, on the one hand, it's bad to be a dick about someone who's explicitly gnc. But we also shouldn't never ever ever even suggest that someone may not be cisgender! Could there be something in between these things? Are there people who hold neither of these viewpoints? Is there even a word for that?

Nahhh, probably not. Back to curated tumblr I go!
