Stoffgefühl: Die 400€ Retail-Jacke fühlt sich etwas leichter an und die Textur des Stoffes unterscheidet sich vom Rep.
Performance: Auch wenn sich das Material anders anfühlt, ist die Batch von Beverly von der Qualität her echt nicht schlechter. Die DWR-Wasserabperlbeschichtung auf dem Rep funktioniert direkt aus dem Karton heraus unglaublich gut.

Sizing & Passform:
Retail-Fit: Die originale Retail-Jacke fällt riesig aus. Sie ist als XL getagged, fittet aber ehrlich gesagt eher wie eine 3XL.
Beverly-Fit: Die Version von Beverly fittet deutlich näher am traditionellen, athletischen Sizing von Arc'teryx – sie hat in Größe XL einen schönen, schmalen und athletischen Schnitt.

Detaillierte Flaws & Unterschiede (Rep vs. Retail):
Ich habe ein paar Nahaufnahmen gemacht, damit ihr genau sehen könnt, wo sich die 76$-Batch von der 400€-Retail-Version unterscheidet:

Nackenlabel & Aufhängeschlaufe: Die Retail-Jacke ist mit „Made in Vietnam“ gelabelt, während das Rep „Made in China“ sagt. Die Schriftart auf dem Rep ist spürbar dünner. Schaut euch vor allem die Aufhängeschlaufe an – das Rep hat eine unsaubere, krumme Naht und eine schlampige Faltung, während das Original ein robustes, perfekt zentriertes Gurtbandstück ist.

Innentaschen & Branding: Auf der Innenseite ist das graue, hitzegeschweißte Taschenlaminat beim Rep kleiner und hat ungleichmäßig abgerundete Ecken. Auch das geprägte Bird-Logo direkt unter der Tasche ist beim Rep extrem blass, während das Retail-Logo tief eingeprägt und hochgradig detailliert ist.

Saum & Kapuzen-Kordelstopper: Das Rep verwendet billigere, klobige Plastik-Kordelstopper am Hüftsaum. Retail bietet das flache, minimalistische und im Stoff integrierte Cohaesive™-System. Die Kanäle für die Kapuzenkordeln haben beim Rep an den Nähten zudem leicht ausgefranste Kanten.

Für 76$ liefert Beverly Luxury optisch ein echt solides Teil mit starker DWR-Performance ab. Sobald man sich aber die innere Konstruktion, die Hardware-Komponenten (wie die Kordelstopper) und die präzisen Laserschnitte anschaut, merkt man sofort, wo beim 400€-Original das extreme Engineering steckt.

Material & Performance:

Fabric Feel: The $400 retail jacket feels slightly lighter and the fabric texture is different compared to the rep.

Performance: Even though the material feels different, Beverly's batch is honestly not worse in terms of quality.

The DWR water-repellency coating on the rep works incredibly well right out of the box.

Sizing & Fit:

Retail Fit: The authentic retail jacket runs massive. It's tagged as an XL but honestly fits closer to a 3XL.

Beverly's Fit: Beverly's version fits much more true to traditional Arc'teryx athletic sizing—it's got a slim and athletic cut in size XL.

Detailed Flaws & Differences (Rep vs. Retail):
I took some close-up macro shots so you can see where the $76 batch differs from the $400 retail version:

Neck Label & Hanger Loop: The retail jacket is labeled "Made in Vietnam" while the rep says "Made in China".

The font on the rep is noticeably thinner. Crucially, look at the hanger loop—the rep has a messy, crooked stitch and a sloppy fold, whereas retail is a heavy-duty, perfectly centered webbing piece.

Inner Pockets & Branding: On the inside, the grey heat-welded pocket laminate on the rep is cut smaller with unevenly rounded corners. Also, the embossed bird logo right below the pocket is very faint on the rep, while the retail one is deeply stamped and highly detailed.

Embroidery: The main chest logo and the hood text on the rep are a bit thicker with lower stitch density. On retail, the embroidery is incredibly tight, crisp, and has a distinct 3D pop with zero bleeding threads.

Zippers: The shiny polyurethane coating on the rep's WaterTight™ zipper tracks looks slightly wavy and doesn't lay perfectly flat. Retail tracks are dead straight, and the matte plastic pull-tabs have much cleaner molded lettering.

Hem & Hood Cord Locks: The rep uses cheaper, bulky plastic toggle stoppers on the waist hem. Retail features the flat, low-profile custom cord-lock system seamlessly integrated into the fabric. The channels for the hood drawcords also have slightly frayed edges on the rep's stitching.

Conclusion 👇

For $76, Beverly Luxury delivers a really solid looker with great DWR performance. However, once you look at the inside construction, hardware components (like the cord locks), and precise laser cuts, the $400 retail price tag shows where the extreme engineering goes.

ich habe gestern mein neues Canyon Grizl 5 in Größe M bekommen! Ich komme ursprünglich vom gelegentlichen Mountainbiken und das ist mein allererstes Gravel Bike.

Da die professionellen Bike-Fitting-Termine bei mir in der Region leider alle erst wieder ab August ausgebucht sind, muss ich mich bis dahin erst einmal mit YouTube-Tutorials und eurer Schwarmintelligenz über Wasser halten.

Ich habe mal zwei Bilder und ein kleines „professionelles“ Video angehängt. Wenn ich auf den Hoods greife, fühlen sich meine Arme im Moment noch ein bisschen sehr gestreckt an.

Wie wirkt die Sitzposition allgemein auf euch?

Sollte ich mit der Sattelhöhe, dem Sattelversatz oder eventuell einem kürzeren Vorbau experimentieren, um das gestreckte Gefühl wegzubekommen?

Just got my new Canyon Grizl 5 (size M) yesterday! I'm transitioning from occasionally riding mountain bikes, so this is my very first drop-bar/gravel bike experience.
Unfortunately, all professional bike fitters in my area are fully booked until August. Until then, I'm relying on YouTube tutorials and the Reddit community to get dialed in.

I’ve attached one Videos. When riding on the hoods, my arms currently feel a bit too stretched out.

How does my overall position look to you?

To address the stretched-feeling, should I experiment with saddle height, saddle fore/aft, or look into getting a slightly shorter stem?

ich bin absoluter Lauf-Anfänger (28 J., ca. 93 kg bei 1,83 m) und habe vor genau zwei Wochen überhaupt mit dem Joggen angefangen. Mein Ziel war es eigentlich, erst mal die Basis aufzubauen.

Nachdem ich in den letzten Tagen die 5 km und 7 km geknackt hatte, wollte ich es heute vor meiner Spätschicht einfach mal wissen: Mein Plan war, die 10 km vollzumachen und dabei vor allem meinen Puls komplett konstant zu halten. Und es lief einfach perfekt! Am Ende standen völlig unerwartet 10,04 km auf der Uhr (Zeit: 1:16:40, Pace 7:38 min/km, HF im Schnitt extrem stabil bei 163 bpm).

Ich bin unfassbar stolz, die Distanz so kurz nach dem Einstieg verdoppelt zu haben! Meine Knie meckern jetzt zwar verständlicherweise ein bisschen, aber das Gefühl ist unbeschreiblich.

Da ich weiß, dass so ein riesiger Sprung nach nur zwei Wochen auch Risiken birgt, wollte ich mir hier ein paar allgemeine Tipps abholen:

1 Gelenke & Sehnen schützen: Ich merke meine Knie jetzt etwas. Wie gehe ich nach so einem plötzlichen Distanzsprung am besten vor, um Überlastungen (Stichwort Läuferknie) zu vermeiden? Wie viele Tage strikte Pause sollte ich einlegen?

2 Wie geht es jetzt weiter? Soll ich im Training erst mal wieder bewusst auf die 5 km zurückgehen, um die Basis zu festigen, oder kann man die 10 km jetzt ab und zu mal einstreuen?

3 Regeneration bei Schichtarbeit: Ich arbeite im Krankenhaus im Dreischichtsystem (aktuell Spätdienst).
Habt ihr Tipps, wie man die Erholung nach solchen Läufen am besten mit unregelmäßigen Schlaf- und Arbeitszeiten vereinbart?

Da es mein erster Wettkampf ist, habe ich ein paar Fragen an euch:

1. Ab Kilometer 3 oder 4 wird es im Kopf oft richtig schwer, dranzubleiben, obwohl die Beine eigentlich noch könnten. Wie motiviert ihr euch in dieser Phase, um nicht aufzugeben?

2. Der Lauf startet um 10:20 Uhr. Habt ihr Tipps für die Strategie vor Ort, um nicht vor lauter Adrenalin zu schnell loszurennen und nach 1 km einzubrechen?

3. Ist es im Wettkampf okay, kurze Gehpausen zu machen, oder "versaut" man sich damit das Erlebnis? Mein Ziel ist einfach nur das Finishen innerhalb den 50 Minuten.

Freue mich über jeden Tipp für einen blutigen Anfänger, der endlich mal eine Medaille im Schrank hängen haben will!

The Batch (RSD):
I already ripped off the RSD tags because I wanted to wear them straight away, so they aren't in the photos.

Just wanted to share these two pickups from the LW Batch. In my opinion, LW is still the go-to for the 350 V2 silhouette - the shape is on point, the primeknit feels retail, and the Boost comfort is definitely there for the daily grind.
